  • how to remove extra whitespace or a paragraph tag generated by ckeditor?

    I am using CK editor to post the content. When I just type a simple text manually, It just appears as it was.But the problem is when I copy the test from other websites like wikipedia, an empty paragraph is rendered in the beginning of the string, which is making my page look odd. I have tried using trim,and preg_replace. But I did not find any solution. Please suggest some method to overcome this issue.. Thanks

  • Can the Flash CS4 [embed] tag be made to export assets to frame 2 rather than frame 1?

    We're working on a Flash CS4 project where the main .fla file has ballooned in size and 'Publish' is taking forever. I suspect a large amount of the size (and at least some of the compile time) is due to the quantity of audio symbols in the library. I would love to remove this unnecessary bloat from the .fla file. I've experimented with removing an audio symbol from the library and using the [embed] metadata tag instead, like so: [Embed(source="audio/music/EndOfLevelDitty.mp3")] public var EndOfLevelDitty:Class The resulting published file works perfectly, but there is a problem. Our game uses a preloader on the first frame of the timeline, so all other classes need to be exported in frame 2 (as set in Publish Settings ActionScript 3.0 Settings). So a size report normally begins like this: Frame # Frame Bytes Total Bytes Scene ------- ----------- ----------- ---------------- 1 284515 284515 Scene 1 2 5485305 5769820 (AS 3.0 Classes Export Frame) However, if I use an [embed] tag on a small sound, my size report is now: Frame # Frame Bytes Total Bytes Scene ------- ----------- ----------- ---------------- 1 363320 363320 Scene 1 2 5407240 5770560 (AS 3.0 Classes Export Frame) As you can see, the embedded sound has been exported into frame 1 rather than frame 2. If I were to embed all sounds in this manner, the size of frame 1 would grow to be huge, and users would be looking at a white screen for ages before the preloader frame even loaded. So my question is this: can I use an [embed] tag but have the embedded asset export in frame 2 instead of frame 1? Project constraints: Our team composition means we can't change to pure Flex at this stage. The compiled .swf needs to be 'all in one', so we can't split the preloader into a separate file, and we can't access external resources. Edit: I'd also settle for having the audio in an embedded library SWC, but there seems to be no way to make that embed in frame 2 either; it always ends up in frame 1.

    I would like to be able to place an empty tag anywhere in my document as a marker that can be addressed by jQuery. However, it is important that the XHTML still validates. To give you a bit of background as to what I'm doing: I've compared the current and previous versions of a particular document and I'm placing markers in the html where the differences are. I'm then intending to use jQuery to highlight the parent block-level elements when highlightchanges=true is in the URL's query string. At the moment I'm using <span> tags but it occurred to me that this sort of thing wouldn't validate: <table> <tr> <td>Old row</td> </tr> <span class="diff"></span><tr> <td>Just added</td> </tr> </table> So is there a tag I can use anywhere?     I have 700+ title tag duplicates showing in WMT. Every first link in that picture is as duplicate link of second one. I don't know from where the first link got indexed by Google when that link doesn't exist in the site. It's showing the title of every page as link.     Hi, I'm a jquery newbie - wanted to ask what might be the best strategy for achieving what I am after as I think it uses a mix of jquery functions : If list of items exceeds 5 items a 'more' link appears which when toggled will reveal the rest of the items. If items list is 5 or less no 'more' link is shown. Hide button also at bottom of long full revealed list. (perhaps this is toggle+pagination?)   • HTML 5 <video> tag vs Flash video. What are the pros and cons?

    Seems like the new <video> tag is all the hype these days, especially since Firefox now supports it. News of this are popping up in blogs all over the place, and everyone seems to be excited. But what about? As much as I searched I could not find anything that would make it better than the good old Flash video. In fact, I see only problems with it: It will still be some time before all the browsers start supporting it, and much more time before most people upgrade; Flash is available already and everyone has it; You can couple Flash with whatever fancy UI you want for controlling the playback. I gather that the tag will be controllable as well (via JavaScript probably), but will it be able to go fullscreen? The only two pros for a <video> tag that I can see are: It is more "semantic" - which probably holds no importance to a whole lot of people, including me; It is not dependent on a single commercial 3rd party entity (Adobe) - which I also don't see as a compelling reason to switch, because free players and video converters are already available, and Adobe is not hindering the whole process in any way (it's not in their interests even). So... what's the big deal? Added: OK, so there is one more Pro... maybe. Support for mobile devices. Hard to say though. A number of thoughts race through my head about the subject: How many mobile devices are actually able to decode video at a decent speed anyway, Flash or otherwise? How long until mainstream mobile devices get the <video> support? Even if it is available through updates, how many people actually do that? How many people watch videos on web pages on their mobile phones at all? As for the semantics part - I understand that search engines might be able to detect videos better now, but... what will they do with them anyway? OK, so they know that there is a video in the page. And? They can't index a video! I'd like some more arguments here. Added: Just thought of another Cons. This opens up a whole new area of cross-browser incompatibility. HTML and CSS is quite messy already in this aspect. Flash at least is the same everywhere. But it's enough for at least one major browser vendor to decide against the <video> tag (can anyone say "Internet Explorer"?) and we have a nice new area of hell to explore.   • KVM/Libvirt bridged/routed networking not working on newer guest kernels

    I have a dedicated server running Debian 6, with Libvirt (0.9.11.3) and Qemu-KVM (qemu-kvm-1.0+dfsg-11, Debian). I am having a problem getting bridged/routed networking to work in KVM guests with newer kernels (2.6.38). NATted networking works fine though. Older kernels work perfectly fine as well. The host kernel is at version 3.2.0-2-amd64, the problem was also there on an older host kernel. I have encountered this problem with every guest OS I've tried, that being Fedora, Ubuntu (server/desktop) and Debian with an upgraded kernel. I've also tried compiling the guest kernel myself, to no avail. I have no problem with recompiling a kernel, though the host cannot afford any downtime. Any ideas on this problem are very welcome. EDIT: I can ping the host from inside the guest.

  • Why the parent page get refreshed when I click the link to open thickbox-styled form?

    Hi, all: I'm using Thickbox 3.1 to show signup form. The form content comes from jquery ajax post. The jquery lib is of version 1.4.2. I placed a "signup" link into a div area, which is a part of my other large pages, and the whole content of that div area is ajax+posted from my server. To make thickbox can work in my above arangement, I have modified the thickbox code a little like that: //add thickbox to href & area elements that have a class of .thickbox function tb_init(domChunk){ $(domChunk).live('click', function(){ var t = this.title || this.name || null; var a = this.href || this.alt; var g = this.rel || false; tb_show(t,a,g); this.blur(); return false; });} This modification is the only change against the original version. Beacause the "signup" link is placed in ajaxed content, so I Use live instead of binding the click event directly. When I tested on my pc, the thickbox works well. I can see the signup form quickly, without feeling the content of the parent page(here, is the other large pages) get refreshed. But after transmiting my site files into VHost, when I click the "signup" link, the signup form get presented very slowly. The large pages get refreshed evidently, because the borwser(ie6) are reloading images from server incessantly. These images are set as background images in CSS files. I think that's because the slow connection of network. But why the parent pages get refreshed? and why the browser reloads those images one more time? Havn't those images been placed in local computer's disk? Is there one way to stop that reloadding? Because the signup form can't get displayed sometimes due to slow connection of network.
