  Our latest BizTalk Server 2010 development project is utilising BizTalk as the integration ring around a new and sizable implementaion of Dynamics AX 2012. With this project we have decided to use BAM to monitor the processes within our various new applications.Although I have been specialising in BizTalk for around 9 years, this is my first time using BAM so it is an interesting process to be going through.Recently when deploying a solution I was attempting to check the BAM Portal to see that the View that I had created was properly deployed and that the Activity I was populating was being surfaced in the Portal as expected. Initially I was presented with the message "No view to display" in the "My Views" area of the BAM Portal landing page.This was because you need to set the permissions on the views that you want to see from the command line using the bm.exe tool:bm.exe add-account -AccountName:YourServerOrDomain\YourUsername -View:YourViewThis tool can be found in the BAM folder at the BizTalk installation location:C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010\Tracking

  I play alot of COD4. And can see tracers for gunfire, missles, care packages fall from helicopters etc. There is alot of activity. I am curious to know the algorithm (at a high level) that manages all this action when you have 20 people on a map shooting each other to death ? This question touches on the subject but doesn't ask for a more in-depth answer as to how you the developers go about calculating and transmitting movement and collision detection for projectiles, be it missles/bullets or any other object that is flying through the air in real-time.

  As a post VS2010 SP1 installation activity, I am recompiling all my open source projects. The first is XHTMLFIX at http://xhtmlfix.codeplex.com/ This LGPL project has simple fixes to ASP.NET 2.0/4.0 to achieve XHTML compliance as measured by the W3C tests at http://validator.w3.org/ The XHTML project shows as untrue the commonly held belief that MVP or MVC are necessary for producing XHTML compliant web pages. Incidentally the other supposed advantage of MVP and MVC over web forms of easier testing is also very dubious as web forms can be tested by systems such as Selenium or WaTiN. I have used NUnitASP (alas sadly discontinued) with web forms and found it be more effective than unit testing MVP. Now if you prefer the MVP and / or MVC approach over Web forms then fine, that is your preferance. Now if you can find an example where ASP.NET 4.0 Web forms properly written do not produce XHTML compliant markup, I would be glad of your example and will look at ways of modifying the markup to be XHTML compliant.

• Floppy Drive not recognised

  I am a newbie with Ubuntu during the past two weeks, and I believe, that I have made good progress so far. Current setup tasks are completed, like: "Wireless Network, Printer, Thunderbird + Firefox, e-mail", also my local weather station - all setup. Updated files and rearranged the desktop to my liking. The problem I have now is my floppy drive which is not recognized, but the activity light is shown on constantly. I have downloaded the "MakeFloppyDriveAvailableToEveryone" and i am confident that I can follow the instructions to change the floppy drive. However, I do not have an existing fd0 file in /dev/???, but only /dev/fd/ files 0 to 46. Please advise.

• Please Help to bring back power to my machine

  I Have a samsung N150plus netbook That I have been using for a while now. I left it on and plugged to a wall outlet and went to bed. I dual boot ubuntu and win7. I tried to update the win7 to sp1 and I dozed off. I woke up and saw the machine has been booted to ubuntu and logged in as guest, which translate to mean one of my room mates have tried to use the machine and they all have denied using my machine. I tried to reboot to windows and then it appears to have no cpu, hard disk and cpu fan activity. only one led seems to come on when i plug it in. its only the led that indicate the machine is powered on powers steadily. I really cant afford to buy a new machine now and I need the machine to complete my last project in school for my last year. Help Please

• ISO 12207: SQA as a supporting process?

  I have been following ISO12207 for the sake of my thesis dealing with software quality. Now I should explain quality assurance and here comes the problem: according to this norm, QA is a supporting process, separated but on the same level with verification, validation and auditing processes. According to other sources, Quality Assurance is basically high level activity making sure that standards, norms etc. are being followed. Usually the part of Quality Assurance is the Quality Control (testing, reviewing, inspections also V&V) which measures the quality and provides QA with this information so it can be acted upon. I somehow do not understand how QA is thought to be according to this ISO and what activities should it perform. Also it does not mention QC except for a footnote.

• wake up from suspend to ram problem

  I have very strange problem. After suspending to ram notebook doesn't wakes up, only leds and fan switches on, no HDD activity and display stays off(without backlights-completly off). If I press numlock- led doesn't switches, all buttons are not warkable. I have installed uswsusp and tryed to use s2ram, but result is exactly similar. I tryed to remove fglrx, but useless. I have HP Pavilion dv6 2055er with Ubuntu 12.04 on board and: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV710 [Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100 Series] How can I solve this problem?

• Hibernation is still missing from menu in 13.10 after enabling via polkit. How to enable?

  I know that since 12.04, we need to add a policykit rule to enable hibernation (see question How to enable hibernation? and the Official Documentation). I can successfully bring my laptop into hibernation mode with sudo pm-hibernate or sudo s2disk, so the rule is in place and works, but the hibernation entry is still missing in the menu. I can tell from looking through the source of the indicator-session package (but not understanding the whole code) that there is still a hibernation menu entry in the code and it should be displayed when the system is capable of hibernating. Please calm down if you're enraged by this. This is very unlikely to be a conspiracy, but rather a bug/regression on a deeper level, which can happen when you move code around or replace it. Question: What needs to be done in 13.10 to properly tell indicator-session that the system can hibernate? Possible duplicate: Hibernation still not available - No activity, because saucy was in development at that time, so out of scope for AskUbuntu. The development is alright, but I was targeting local customers with one domain, and international (english version) with another. Eg: Local http://www.minhalojadesapatos.com.br (this is not the real website, just example!) Other http://www.myshoesstore.com.br Both domain point to exactly the same hosting and content, but when user comes through local domain, default language is set to portuguese, otherwise, default is english. Language handling on backend uses PHP Sessions and cookies, so with just a click users can change content language. How to avoid being SEO-penalised in this context? (yeah, I was hungry when focusing market for choosing two domains but the activity really needs that, it is a travel agency).

• Fix hibernate on Thinkpad X60 with 12.04 Precise Pangolin

  I own a ThinkPad X60, hibernate used to work on 10.04 Lucid Lynx, but no longer works correctly on 12.04. I am aware of how to enable hibernate in Power Manager. The problem here is, in the default configuration, pm-hibernate works, but the system fails to resume correctly. There is no video glitch, black screen or other. The resume process just freezes on the Ubuntu splash boot after a few seconds of disk activity. Is there a way to fix the system configuration so hibernates works again?

  I am personalising my Gnome-Shell in Ubuntu 11.10 I would like to disable the feature to open the Gnome's Dashboard when I close the last Window in a Workspace. Edit to clarify: The dashboard is available only in GNOME Shell. The dashboard opens if you press the windows key (aka SUPER) or if you move the mouse to the upper left corner. If you close the last window of a workspace, but there are open windows on other workspaces, the dashboard opens automatically. The latter behaviour is annoying if you do not want to use the dashboard to open new windows or to change workspace. There are many ways to to both (Gnome do, Docky, keyboard shortcuts, clicking on something on the desktop, ...). • 12.04 LTS won't install from CD

  I've been trying to install 12.04 LTS onto a Dell with a PIII from CD. Booting from the CD the install gets through the "Who are you" process, begins copying files. The progress bar gets as far as the last period in "Copying files...". The box clears, and an error box comes up "The installer has encountered an unrecoverable error. A desktop session will now be run so that you may investigae the problem or try installing again." When I try to install from this desktop session, the install gets to the same point, the copying files box closes, and then just stops. The pointer is busy, the cd drive spins up occaisonally with no data transfer, no hard drive activity. When I boot from the CD and access the disk boot menu, the disk checks good, memory checks good ( I upgraded the original memory to 512 mb). I also updated the bios to the newest from Dell. This is an older L866r, but should meet the requirements.

• Lag compensation with networked 2D games

  I want to make a 2D game that is basically a physics driven sandbox / activity game. There is something I really do not understand though. From research, it seems like updates from the server should only be about every 100ms. I can see how this works for a player since they can just concurrently simulate physics and do lag compensation through interpolation. What I do not understand is how this works for updates from other players. If clients only get notified of player positions every 100ms, I do not see how that works because a lot can happen in 100ms. The player could have changed direction twice or so in that time. I was wondering if anyone would have some insight on this issue. Basically how does this work for shooting and stuff like that? • Changing the rendering resolution while maintaining the design layout

  I would like to increase the FPS of my project. Currently I would like to try reducing the resolution at which the scenes are rendered. Let's say I never want to draw more than 1280*720. What ever the real resolution is. How should I proceed? I tried pEGLView->setFrameSize(1280, 720); but only reduces the displayed size of the frame on screen (boxing). • How to go about "taking over" an open-source project?

  There's an open-source project that I'm interested in and use regularly. It's licensed under the Apache License 2.0 and it has basically no activity any more. It's hosted on Google Code and I'm interested in continuing it's development. I'm new to the open-source process and I'm trying to figure out the appropriate way to go about this. Can I just check it out and push it to github so I can continue it's development in the open there? Should I contact the project "owner" first? Also, do I leave all the author information at the top of the classes, etc even though I'm going to be making changes..(I'm assuming the answer is yes)? Also, how do I practically adhere to the license requirement of "all modifications are clearly marked as being the work of the modifier"? Do I place a comment by every change I make?

• App Engine charges in November 2011 [closed]

  I had a billing enabled test application on Google App Engine left over from early 2011. I have not received a bill in many months because I have not been hitting the URL and according to the activity monitor, nobody has. Then unexpectedly in November 2011, I received 2 bills in as many weeks for quite minimal amounts. Checking the monitor it looks like nobody has been hitting the URL and according to the SQL-like search, there is nothing in the Datastore. I know that GAE has left the "preview" in recent weeks but I am not sure how that would affect what is essentially a dormant application with no Datastore objects. Has GAE started charging for completely unused applications in recent weeks? Edit: Most of my applications were already disabled and I have just disabled the only one that was enabled but unused the past several months. If I get another bill next week that should be informative.
