  • Codeigniter form action with slashes instead of normal GETs?

    Hey, so this is one of those questions that seems obvious, and I'm probably going to feel stupid, but here goes: I'm doing a CodeIgniter site with a search. Think of a Google type input, where you'd search for "white huskies." I have a search results page that takes a URI (MySite.com/dogs/white huskies), and takes the third part, and performs the search on that term. I'd like this to be done in the URI, and no by POST so my users can bookmark results. The problem I'm having is how to get that search button directed to Mysite.com/dogs/WHATEVER IS IN THE INPUT. How do I get the what is in the input part into the anchor href? I know I could do this with javascript, but I've heard it's bad practice to force people to have javascript for things this small.     Is it possible to: set a URI template in the mvc:view-controller element of the *-servlet.xml file or in a controller method and then use/get that path parameter in a jsp? I understand that using @PathVariable in a controller method will give me access to the path parameter in that controller method. But how can I gain access to the path parameter in the jsp? For example, is it possible to do something like: *-servlet.xml file: <beans...> <mvc:view-controller path="/home" view-name="home"/> <mvc:view-controller path="/home/{error}" view-name="home"/> </beans> jsp file: <c:if test="${not empty param['error']}"> <span class="error">You have an error...</span> </c:if>

  • Tying PyQt4 QAction triggered() to local class callable doesn't seem to work. How to debug this?

    I create this object when I want to create a QAction. I then add this QAction to a menu: class ActionObject(object): def __init__(self, owner, command): action = QtGui.QAction(command.name, owner) self.action = action self.command = command action.setShortcut(command.shortcut) action.setStatusTip(command.name) QtCore.QObject.connect(action, QtCore.SIGNAL('triggered()'), self.triggered) def triggered(self): print("got triggered " + self.command.id + " " + repr(checked)) Unfortunately, when the menu item is selected, the 'triggered' function is not called. QtCore.QObject.connect() returns True. Nothing is printed on the console to indicate that anything is wrong, and no exception is thrown. How can I debug this? (or, what am I doing wrong?)

    I have the following question regarding MVVM light: what "drives" the UI? I see I can have a ViewModel per View I am showing; the ViewLocator handles all the ViewModels (for caching as I understand). But what is driving the UI? If I have a Command defined in my ViewModel that says "ShowDetail"; do I have to write the code for displaying this View inside the ViewModel? Are there any examples of this? Thanks!

    Let's have an example: A grails project, myproj, is deployed in Tomcat 6. It can be accessed anywhere thru this link: http://www.mycompany.com/myproj. Let's say we purchase another domain, http://newcompany.com, and we would like to point it to http://www.mycompany.com/myproj/url. If I go to http://newcompany.com/12345, it should be the same as doing http://www.mycompany.com/myproj/url/12345. Can anyone tell me if this is possible? How to implement it (change Tomcat 6 config, add code in UrlMappings.groovy)? Thanks in advance.

I'm on chapter 4 and I'm getting the following compile error on the "if (segment == kShowSegmentIndex)" line: error:expected ')' before ';' token Here's my code: - (IBAction)toggleShowHide:(id)sender{ UISegmentedControl *segmentedControl = (UISegmentedControl *)sender; NSInteger segment = segmentedControl.selectedSegmentIndex; if (segment == kShowSegmentIndex) [switchView setHidden:NO]; else [switchView setHidden:YES]; } I've compared it with the code in the book several times and have retyped it. Sounds like this error is caused by improper brace placement. Any thoughts?

    i want to render one of these sets of views: head body-$id1 foot OR head body-$id2 foot which set exsists. i do it like this: try { $this->render("head"); $this->render("body-$id1"); $this->render("foot"); } catch (Exception $e) { $this->render("head"); $this->render("body-$id2"); $this->render("foot"); } but it causes the head view be rendered twice if body-$id1 does not exists. do you have a better solution? in another saying, may i check the existance of body-$id1 before rendering it?

    I have a simple QT application with 10 radio buttons with names radio_1 through radio_10. It is a ui called Selector, and is part of a class called TimeSelector In my header file for this design, i have this: //! [1] the commented out void_on_inputSpinBox1_valueChanged(int value) is from the tutorial for the simple calculator. I know i can do: void on_radio_1_valueChanged(int value); but I would need 10 functions. I want to be able to make one function that works for everything, and lets me pass in maybe a name of the radio button that called it, or a reference to the radio button so i can work with it and determine who it was. I am very new to QT but this seems like it should be very basic and doable, thanks.

    I want a single startup view with a button and a welcome screen. When the button is pressed I then want to navigate to a second view which contains a table view and toolbar. I've tried creating a ViewController but my button is shown on all views. I just want a single view, then when it's pressed i go to the next view and the 'real' app starts. Can someone please try and explain the best architecture to do this? (like in chapter 6 of beginning iPhone 3 Development by Dave Mark and Jeff LaMarche ) Thanks

  • Symfony 1.4 - Don't save a blank password on a executeUpdate action.

    I have a form to edit a UserProfile which is stored in mysql db. Which includes the following custom configuration: public function configure() { $this->widgetSchema['password']=new sfWidgetFormInputPassword(); $this->validatorSchema['password']->setOption('required', false); // you don't need to specify a new password if you are editing a user. } When the user tries to save the executeUpdate method is called to commit the changes. If the password is left blank, the password field is set to '', but I want it to retain the old password instead of overwriting it. What is the best (/most in the symfony ethos) way of doing this? My solution was to override the setter method on the model (which i had done anyway for password encryption), and ignore blank values. public function setPassword( $password ) { if ($password=='') return false; // if password is blank don't save it. return $this->_set('password', UserProfile ::encryptPassword( $password )); } It seems to work fine like this, but is there a better way? If you're wondering I cannot use sfDoctrineGuard for this project as I am dealing with a legacy database, and cannot change the schema.

    I have associated my app with txt file. So user can select a file in File explorer app and select my app to open it. In OnCreate: Intent intent = getIntent(); String action = intent.getAction(); if (action != null && action.equals(Intent.ACTION_VIEW)) { txtFilePath = intent.getData().getPath(); } However, when user did not close my app, and he goes back to file explorer and open another file, OnCreate is not called. OnResusme is called instead. I put below code in OnResume: Intent intent = getIntent(); String action = intent.getAction(); if (action != null && action.equals(Intent.MAIN)) { txtFilePath = intent.getData().getPath(); } However, txtFilePath is null.   • My UITabBarController isn't appearing, but its first view is?

    I've done some reorganizing of my project recently and now I'm not seeing my tab bar controller, but its first view controller's view is appearing. Here's a breakdown of everything that happens prior to the problem. App Delegate loads FirstViewController with nib. FirstViewController loads the application data from my server and then presents MainViewController with a modal transition. MainViewController is where the UITabBarController is supposed to be appearing. It's a very simple class.     I'm trying to route these two url's to different Actions. We are using Struts 1.2: /abc-def/products /abc-def I tried putting this action first: <action path="/abc*/products" type="com.business.exampleAction"> <forward name="success" path="/go"/> </action> and then this one after: <action path="/abc*" type="com.business.differentExampleAction"> <forward name="success" path="/goElsewhere"/> </action> but it always goes to the second action (differentExampleAction in this case). I've tried various iterations for the , like . or (.*), but haven't found anything that actually works yet. From what I've read, it seems like the only regular-expression-like characters allowed in struts-config are the wildcard symbols (* and **), but I hope I am wrong.
