  • PATH env variable on Mac OS X and/or Eclipse

    When I print out the path in bash, it prints this: /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin When I run System.out.println(System.getenv("PATH")); in Java running under Eclipse, it prints /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin How can I figure out why there is this discrepancy? I need to add /usr/local/bin to the PATH and make it available to Java apps under Eclipse. (note: I have made no modifications system paths, so these are the defaults set by the OS or perhaps by one or more of the applications i've installed.)

  • How to get rid of devices in the right panel of Nautilus ?

    I would like to rid of not mounted ntfs partition from Nautilus' right panel ( I just want 352 GB Filesystem - d drive to be there. First of all 352 GB Filesystem is in fact d so I do not know why it is duplicated. Secondly I have put Acer and SYSTEM RESERVED to be nouser mounts on purpose, so that I (or sombody else) will not format it (or else) by accident.   • How to re-add RAID-10 dropped drive?

    I have a problem that I can't seem to solve. We have a Ubuntu server setup with RAID-10 and two of the drives dropped out of the array.     I am looking to write a Windows Media Center plugin just like the Netflix WMC plugin. Once logged in, I know the streaming urls that I need to hook in to. Any source code, reference samples would be great. Found one on codeplex for swedish TV channels, but right now it's not working for some reason... Previously asked the following question, with no answers, so updated with a question asked in a easy to relate fashion Host a streaming video in my client, from a streaming url that is behind a login session? I am building a Silverlight 4 desktop client to show streaming video from a site that is login based. So that website has a Silverlight player that does streaming video, the player is behind a login sesion, so just by getting the url from fiddler and trying to play it in my Silverlight 4 desktop client won't work. Actually after that, I want to build a Windows Media Center plugin to build a Netflix-like client, that allows login through WMC and then allows you to watch streaming video. Any pointers on how to go about doing any of this?

  • Trying to use a authlogic-connect as a plugin in place of gem - Server doesn't start

    I am trying to use Authlogic-connect as a plugin in Rails 3 in place of a gem. I have made an entry in the gemfile as gem "authlogic-connect", :require => "authlogic-connect", :path => "localgems" Now when I run the bundle install, it runs fine. When I try to start the server i get the error Could not find gem 'authlogic-connect (>= 0, runtime)' in source at localgems. Source does not contain any versions of 'authlogic-connect (>= 0, runtime)' Try running `bundle install`. I have placed the unzipped Gem renamed as authlogic-connect in the localgems folder. what is the problem?     Hi, I am having problems using the jquery cycle lite plugin on some images that are added via AJAX. However the prev/next buttons don't work. When I load the images via static HTML the slideshow prev/next links works fine. (I just copied and pasted the generated HTML.) I understand I need to use something like .bind or .live to make the Cycle plugin 'see' the new images. I have tried everything I can think of but I can't make it work. What am I doing wrong ?

  • Help with jQuery Validation plugin and a form that uses 'panels'

    I have a form that works in 'sections' that I will refer to as 'panels'. By default, the form is listed out on the page, one panel after the other. However, with JavaScript, it puts the panels into one panel viewer, and displays them one after the other (with prev/next buttons). Example Form Workflow Panel 1: User Details - Panel 2: User Location - Panel 3: User Info - Panel 4: Confirm Details I am using the jQuery Validation plugin. My problem is, I have set up all the rules for all the inputs in the first 3 panels, and I'd like to be able to only validate a subset of them per panel. Example, when pushing 'next panel' after completing name & email (in the 1st, user details panel), I'd like to do a validation only on that panel first, and then get a boolean response (if the 1st panel validated), and if true, then proceed to the next panel. I've played around with a bit of the config, but unfortunately could not get it to work as I wanted. This is my first project with this plugin so I'm quite new to it! Is there a way to add rules dynamically to the plugin? i.e. not on $('form').validate(options) ? What I'd like to do, is call the validate() on the form, with all the error messages, and then on the 'next panel' code, do a switch case to determine which rules to add, and then call a validate() myself.

    I have successfully set up this plugin before so I am curious as to what I am doing wrong here. I have built the ability for users to add tags to questions. I am not using tagging plugin here but that shouldn't matter for this. With respect to the auto complete, I am trying to have the form located in the /views/questions/show.html.erb file access the Tags table and display entries in the tags.tags_name column. The plugin set up is fairly simple as you add the following line to your controller: auto_complete_for :tag, :tag_name and the following line in your routes.rb file: map.resources :tags, :collection => {:auto_complete_for_tag_tag_name => :get } I have added the controller line to both my tags and questions controller and also mapped resources for both tags and questions in my routes.rb file: map.resources :tags, :collection => {:auto_complete_for_tag_tag_name => :get } map.resources :questions, :collection => {:auto_complete_for_tag_tag_name => :get } I have played around with removing either or of the above but can't seem to fix it. Any ideas what I am doing wrong here?

I know this is because my mask mask and topImg options have the same class - but how can I modify the plugin to allow for these items to have the same class? I know it's probably something really simple, but I'm still finding my way with jQuery and Javascript in general. Any other tips on improving my code would also be greatly appreciated! Cheers, Chris

    I'm trying to equalize columns in my rails 3.2 app, and while there may be a better way to do it then my current attempt, after hours of trying to make it work I'd like to see if anyone can point out specifically why this jQuery plugin (which isn't a gem) is not working. I'm not getting any errors in the developer console, so it's hard to pin point.     I have a nagios server and a bunch of nagios clients that i currently monitor. All the clients are setup with the following nrpe configuration. check_users, check_load... metrics are successfully displayed on the nagios interface but check_nginx and check_server_proxy displayed as "Unknown"-(No output returned from plugin). As far as i understood nagios simply runs ps command and looks for either the argument strings or the name of the command to verify whether the service is running.   • NRPE: Unable to read output with check_connections plugin

    I'm using plugin which gives me warning or crtis with established connections.   • Sysdeo Tomcat DevLoader - Hot deploy of java class causes whole application to restart

    Hi, I am using sysdeo tomcat plugin 3.2.1 with eclipse 3.5.1 (Galileo) and tomcat 5.5.23 on windows XP. I can get tomcat plugin working in eclipse, and have extracted devloader.zip into [tomcat]\server\classes. So on launching tomcat via the plugin, I can get it running with devloader as shown in eclipse console view [DevLoader] Starting DevLoader [DevLoader] projectdir=F:\Work\eclipse_workspace\myapp1 [DevLoader] added file:/F:/Work/eclipse_workspace/myapp1/WEB-INF/classes/ [DevLoader] added file:/F:/Work/eclipse_workspace/myapp1/WEB-INF/lib/activation.jar However, if I even add a single System.out.println into any java file and save it, the whole application gets reloaded (takes ~80 sec) which is as good as stopping/starting tomcat itself. I've tried adding -Xdebug in JAVA_OPTS in the catalina.bat but no luck :( Can you please guide where I may be doing it wrong.. Please note that I can 'redeploy' the whole application on tomcat but that's not what I need, I am looking to be able to make small changes in java classes 'on-the-fly' while coding/debugging without having to wait for complete app restart. Another annoyance is that restarting tomcat/application causes the session/debug progress to be lost.. Can you please guide me how to go about it. PS: I am not using any ant/maven scripts explicitly, just relying on eclipse to do the build for me (which it does).

    I have installed subclipse, Ant, IvyDE, Red5 Plugin for eclipse, All of the Environmental variables are set and the necessary elements have been added to the path. I am attempting to create a Red5 Distribution by using eclipse, opening Build.xml right clicking dist [default] in the outline window and running as and selecting Ant Builder. Eclipse says that the build is Successful. I first stop the Red5 Service, and then I attempt to run the build I create in eclipse it fails, below are the errors that display in the command prompt.   • Troubles with PyDev and external libraries in OS X

    I've successfully installed the latest version of PyDev in my Eclipse (3.5.1) under OS X 10.6.3, with python 2.6.1 I have troubles in making the libraries I have installed work. For example, I'm trying to use the cx_Oracle library, which is perfectly working if called from the python interpeter of from simple scripts made with some text editor.   • Which Java debugger do *you* use.

    I spend a lot of time debugging applications in Eclipse using JPDA. There are a few issues with the Eclipse debugger which really annoy me. Can anybody recommend plug-ins, better debuggers or perhaps tricks that I don't know of yet? In the "Variables" tab, you can type in and execute bits of Java code. However, you first need to click on something (I usually click on "this") to give it some context. Then, after you've typed in a lengthy Java expression to debug something and "execute" it, your expression gets replaced with the result, so you need to type it in all over again. Is there some better way, such as a console or something that I'm missing? When you're poking through data structures, the presentation in the debugger leaves much to be desired. You see the internal representation of Lists, Maps, StringBuilders etc. What I want to see is what these objects conceptually contain. Is there a way of doing this, perhaps using some other debugger, or an extension or something? When an Exception is thrown, is there some way of inspecting the state of the application where the Exception was thrown? Currently I need to set breakpoints just before the Exception occurs and then try to reproduce it. When I'm stepping over a line with many statements on it, I can't actually see which of those statements is being executed, except by "stepping in" to each one to see where it takes me. If no source code is found, Eclipse just stares blankly at you. You get a helpful screen saying "Class File Editor / Source code not found" which is completely useless. I'd much prefer to be able to step through the bytecodes so I can at least see what is going on. Does anybody know of a Java debugger that does this better than Eclipse?

  • WSIT, Maven, and wsimport -- Can They Work Together?

    Hi all, I'm working on a small-ish multi-module project in Maven. We've separated the UI from the database layer using Web Services, and thanks to the jaxws-maven-plugin, the creation of the WSDL and WS client are more or less handled for us. (The plugin is essentially a wrapper around wsgen and wsimport.) So far so good. The problem comes when I try to layer WSIT security into the picture. NetBeans allows me to generate the security metadata easily, but wsimport seems completely incapable of dealing with anything beyond a Basic-auth level of security. So I guess my question here is, to get a WSIT-compliant client, am I stuck abandoning Maven and the jaxws plugin altogether? Is there a way to get a WSIT client to auto-generate? Or will I need to generate the client by hand? Let me know if you need any additional info beyond what I've written here. I'm deploying to Tomcat, although that doesn't seem to be an issue, as Maven seems happy to pull Metro into the deployed WAR file. Thanks in advance!

  • Map /dev/bus/usb node to /sys node on Linux

    I'm using libusb to find and access a USB device, but once I get the information I need from there, I need to map it to a /sys node. This could be to the actual USB bus it's on, the /sys/bus/usb-serial node (which is where I'm going to get eventually), or effectively anywhere else since I can walk the tree from there. I can get to a /dev/bus/usb node easily enough, but I'm a bit lost from there. What would be the best route to perform this mapping?
