  • Upgrading PHP 5.1 to 5.3 on Linux Server

    I trying to find the best way to upgrade from PHP 5.1 to 5.3. The CRM software I am running on this server requires this upgrade or else I probably wouldn't even perform it, because it seems like it's going to be perhaps trickier than I hoped it would be. Being still new to the programming world, these routine upgrades are still worrisome to me. I am running apache 2.2.6 (Fedora), PHP 5.1.6 and MySQL 5.0.27 on this server.

    hi , I've had this discussion with my professor at college about UML diagrams . hi believes that sequence diagrams should be drawn before getting to class diagrams . but I think the opposite . I think after finishing the usecase diagram , the next diagram should be class diagram and after that we should get to sequence diagram . Rational rose requires us to use the classes in sequence diagram, which are already in class diagram . can anyone help me with this? thanks

    Hi. I have a site where both landing and thank you page are index.php page with different content loaded dynamically. As I'm generating the javascript and trying to validate it, it gives me an error saying that JS is not installed on the thank you page, which makes sense, because its content is not loaded yet.     I'm writing a (tabbed) application for Facebook that requires a background process to run on a server and, periodically, upload images to an album on this application's page. What I'm trying to do is create a script that will: a) authenticate me with the program b) upload an image to a specific album All of this entirely from the command line and completely with the new Graph API. My problem right now is trying to locate the documentation that will allow me to get a token without a pop-up window of sorts. Thoughts?

However, this mechanism requires the model to implement IDeferredWorkbenchAdapter interface, which introduces problem to my legacy immutable model classes. Is it possible to use DeferredTreeContentManager without having model implementing IDeferredWorkbenchAdapter interface?

    Basically, I know how to create graph data structures and use Dijkstra's algorithm in programming languages where side effects are allowed. Typically, graph algorithms use a structure to mark certain nodes as 'visited', but this has side effects, which I'm trying to avoid. I can think of one way to implement this in a functional language, but it basically requires passing around large amounts of state to different functions, and I'm wondering if there is a more space-efficient solution.

I am using a local Apache server for the application, and am trying to figure out what the best way is to simulate offline mode (currently, in Firefox I disable my Air-Port to simulate offline mode, but this is a pain). Any suggestions? I am open to using other browsers if a method exists that doesn't require turning off my Internet.

    The datagridview rowsremoved event gets called every time the data gets loaded. It also makes sense to a certain extent that every time the data loads, the existing rows are removed. so technically the event should get called. But how do i differenciate that from the actual delete button getting pressed. I don't think the key events should be used, that wouldn't be a clean approach. Any help will be most appreciated.

There are a lots of approximation algorithms out there, but I don't have time nor will to analyze them and code them myself. In the methods where i am calling them, I have even tried using the fully qualified names, but that doesnt seem to help either.   • nginx and trailing slashes on $document_root?

    I use the following configuration for nginx: http://gist.github.com/340956 However, this configuration causes a No input file specified error with PHP. The only way I have been able to solve it is by altering this line: fastcgi_param SCRIPT_FILENAME $document_root/$fastcgi_script_name; Note the "/" between $document_root and $fastcgi_script_name. I was informed that this is the wrong configuration but no one has been able to tell me exactly why my configuration requires this extra slash. How can I get rid of that extra slash?

  • What are the reasons *not* to use a GUID for a primary key?

    Whenever I design a database I automatically start with an auto-generating GUID primary key for each of my tables (excepting look-up tables) I know I'll never lose sleep over duplicate keys, merging tables, etc. To me it just makes sense philosophically that any given record should be unique across all domains, and that that uniqueness should be represented in a consistent way from table to table. I realize it will never be the most performant option, but putting performance aside, I'd like to know if there are philosophical arguments against this practice?

    I am using RestEasy to develop a REST server and using the mock dispatcher (org.jboss.resteasy.mockMockDispatcherFactory) for testing the service in my unit tests. My service requires digest authentication and I would to make that part of my testing. Each of my services accepts a @Context SecurityContext securityContext parameter. Is there any way is inject a fake SecurityContext in the dispatcher so that I can test that my security methods function properly?

We want to host it as a Windows Service (don't want to host workflow service as .svc file in IIS). Another reason for having it as windows service is to be able to communicate with the service through the Named pipes. Can we expose a Workflow Service through Named Pipes without hosting it in IIS?
