But very few languages have built in functions that provide an interface to these basic computing objects. • Create an Edit view similar to Contacts App

  I have an edit view in my app which is a instance of UITableViewController and contains one cell with a textfield in a grouped table. At the moment this cell is at the top of the screen and is firstResponder so they keyboard is visible as well. But in all the Apples apps like the Contacts App when you edit a piece of information like an Email it buts both of its rows in the middle between the Nav Bar and the Keyboard not at the top of the screen. • IntelliJ Split Window Navigation

  If I split the editor window (horizontal or vertical) into N tab groups, how do I switch/toggle from one tab group to another via the keyboard? If all of the tabs are in the same group you can switch from each tab easily (CTRL + right/left arrow), but when they're in separate tab groups I can't. I've searched through the key mappings and have not found one that seems to accomplish this. I know I can use the mouse, but I'm trying to find ways to avoid the mouse and stay with the keyboard. TIA for any help on this.

• How do I attach an event handler to the document or window in GWT?

  In a GWT app centered around a canvas, I'm having trouble keeping focus directed in the right place - particularly for keyboard shortcuts. For now, I've wrapped the canvas in a FocusPanel, but that causes the canvas to not respond to the RequiresResize protocol, because FocusPanel does not plumb that. A second (related, I think) problem is that the FocusPanel is not getting Ctrl-A keypress events at all (tested on Mac Chrome). I can get Ctrl-Z and other keys (such as arrows) just fine. In a pure JavaScript world, I think the best answer to this would be to attach mouse and key handlers to the document or window object (I'm not positive which is better). However, I don't see an obvious way to do this in GWT - in particular, the Document and Window classes lack methods for attaching these kind of event handlers? Anyone know how to do it, or, perhaps, to solve the more general problem of keeping focus on an appropriate widget able to handle keyboard shortcuts?

  I have multiple textfields on a UIView. I resign for a previous textField in textFieldShouldBeginEditing method, where following sequence of events are performed UIKeyboardWillHideNotification is received corresponding to that field where the keyboard for the previous field is hidden. the method textFieldShouldBeginEditing returns a YES and then UIKeyboardWillShowNotification is received where the keyboard for the current field is displayed. However, in OS 3.2 even though textFieldShouldBeginEditing returns a YES, UIKeyboardWillShowNotification for the current field is not received. The logic works for OS < 3.2 Any ideas where I might be doing wrong?

• adding a UIScrollView as a superview of 2 UITextview

  hi i have 2 textview in a viewcontroller. the 1st textview is not editable, but the 2nd is editable. i want to make both of them scroll in the same position and size when the keyboard is appear. I think i have to use UIScrollView as base of both of textview. And then i add the UIScrollView in xib (bot of textview are made in xib too). and this is the picture if this hierarchy : in the viewDidLoad method, i add this code : - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [scrollTextView addSubview:lineNumberTextView]; [scrollTextView addSubview:_codeTextView]; [lineNumberTextView bringSubviewToFront:scrollTextView]; [_codeTextView bringSubviewToFront:scrollTextView]; } but when i tap on the 2nd textview, the keyboard is not appear. • View is moved 3 pixels

  Hello, In my app I move the table view (in order to make the text fields visible when the keyboard appears). The view is looks following: This is the code I use for resizing the view and moving it up: static const NSUInteger navBarHeight = 44; CGRect appFrame = [[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]; tableView.frame = CGRectMake(0, navBarHeight, appFrame.size.width, appFrame.size.height-navBarHeight-216); //216 for the keyboard NSIndexPath *indPath = [self getIndexPathForTextField:textField]; //get the field the view should scroll to [tableView scrollToRowAtIndexPath:indPath atScrollPosition:UITableViewScrollPositionMiddle animated:YES]; The problem is that when the view is moved up it also moves 3 pixels into right direction (it is hard to see the difference in the screenshot, but it is visible when the animation is on and I measured the difference with PixelStick tool). Here it is how it looks after the move: My analysis shows that scrolling the table does not influence the move to the right. Any ideas what is wrong in the code above that makes the view move to the right?

• Having a UITextField in a UITableViewCell

  Hi! I'm trying to do that for a couple of days now, and after reading tons of messages of people trying to do that too, I'm still unable to have a fully working UITextField in some of my UITableViewCells, just like in this example: http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/4858/picture4za3.png Either I have the form working but the text is not visible (although I set its color to blue), the keyboard goes on the field when I click on it and I haven't been able to correctly implement the keyboard events. I tried with a bunch of examples from Apple (mainly UICatalog, where there is a kinda similar control) but it's still not working correctly. Can somebody help me (and all the people trying to realize this control) and post a simple implementation of a UITextField in a UITableViewCell, that works fine? Thank you very much.

• Comparison tool with easy line insertion

  Back in good old days I used to use a tool for file comparison with one incredible feature -- you open file1, file2, see a difference, no magic here. But then you could insert an empty line(s) into file1 with one keyboard combo and into file2 with another keyboard combo. So you could easily adjust how are C / asm function aligned in case diff engine failed to recognize similar stuff. Of course, after the adjust (insertion / removal of one or more lines in either file) whole diff was "recalculated". I fail to find similar feature in diff, KDiff, ... I'd prefer Linux app but I'm OK with Windows app as last resort... Thanks for any hint!

• dojo dgrid tree, subrows in wrong position

  I have a dgrid, working with tree column plugin. Every time that the user click on the tree, I call the server, catch the subrows(json) and bind it. But when it happens, these subrows are show in wrong position, like the image bellow. The most strange is when I change the pagination, after go back to first page, the subrows stay on the correct place.   I am have trouble with a summary not showing up. I am supposed to modify a previous Java assignment by by adding an array of objects. Within the loop, instantiate each individual object. Make sure the user cannot keep adding another Foreign conversion beyond your array size. After the user selects quit from the menu, prompt if the user want to display a summary report. If they select ‘Y’ then, using your array of objects, display the following report: Item Conversion Dollars Amount 1 Japanese Yen 100.00 32,000.00 2 Mexican Peso 400.00 56,000.00 3 Canadian Dollar 100.00 156.00 etc. Number of Conversions = 3 There are no errors when I compile..but when I run the program it is fine until I hit 0 to end the conversion and have it ask if i want to see a summary. • NFS issue: clients can mount shares as NFSv3 but not as NFSv4 -- or how to debug NFS?

  Problem description I have a file server running Debian. On it I have a few NFS shares. When I mount the shares from a client using NFSv3 (mount.nfs 10.0.0.51:/exports/video /mnt -o vers=3,soft,intr,timeo=10), it works. However, I would like to use NFSv4 because of improved security and performance. When I try to mount an NFSv4 share on malbec the mount command just hangs and finally times out after 2 minutes. How do I make the clients mount the NFSv4 shares as NFSv4? How do I troubleshoot NFS? There is no information in the syslog on neither client nor server. What are any errors in my configuration?   Is there a native option (ie. without installing extra soft/package/plugins) to enable mouse support in the Terminal app? Actually, I'm using a lot vim with the option set mouse=a (activating mouse features). But it seems that Terminal don't support all xterm's features. It appears (after some googling) that Terminal had once the mouse support, but I wonder where did it go. N.B: I really want mouse support in Terminal, not only for vim, so please, don't suggest MacVim :]

  I have a ListView who's ItemsSource is set to an ObservableCollection. The user can soft and filter the ListView, done by using the CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView and altering the ICollectionView Filter and SortDescriptions. When the user right-clicks a row, they can add an item to the collection. I want this new row to appear below the row right clicked. So far all the methods I've found for something like this are done with ListView.Items which I can't use because I'm setting the ItemsSource property.
