    Hi, I'm calling servlets which has implemented CometProcessor interface, and whenever I try to call the servlets with get request, I'm getting the above error.   • why does vb.net not support multiple inheritance?

    I've seen some discussion on why c# does not implement multiple inheritance but very little as to why it isn't supported in vb. I understand that both c# and vb are compiled down to intermediary language and so they both need to share similar restrictions. The lack of multiple inheritance in VB seems to have been given as one reason for the lack of the feature in dot net. Does anyone know why VB doesn't support multiple inheritance? I'm hoping for a bit of history lesson and discussion on why this was never considered for VB.

    Hi, Is there a way to animate a browser window using jquery. Right now I'm essentially using this: $(window).animate({ left: '+=50' }, 5000}); The reason why it isn't working is probably obvious, although not for me. I eventually need to loop an animate effect so that the browser will move back and forth dynamically. Thanks.

  • Why does not Asp.net mvc application work on Asp.Net Classic Application Pool?

    I have an Asp.Net MVC 2 web application deployed on IIS 7.5 on .Net 4.0. When I select application pool as Asp.Net v4.0 Classic I get the following error. HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory. The same application works fine when I select application pool as Asp.Net v4.0 Integrated. Does anyone know what is the reason for this?

    For some reason my Visual Studio 2008 began to show warnings for code like: "int main( int argc, char **argv)", which is really annoying. The detailed warning ouputs are (you can ignore the line numbers): 1.\main.cpp(86) : warning C4100: 'argv' : unreferenced formal parameter 1.\main.cpp(86) : warning C4100: 'argc' : unreferenced formal parameter I wonder if there are settings in Visual Studio 2008 that have been accidentally changed.     I have app that is running Ruby 1.9.2, Rails 3, and postgreSQL 8.3. It was originally setup and working with postgreSQL 9.1, but I uninstalled 9.1 and installed and changed to 8.3 insure compatibility on a Heroku shared database setup.     Hi All I have to send mails to all users in the site when a new user joins. My problem is the script stops execution after sending around 400 mails. I have set the set_time_limit to 0.   • .Net Windows Services and InstallState file - is it really needed?

    I've got a number of managed code Windows Services for which we use the Frameworks InstallUtil tool to install into the service control manager. This tool creates a new file at install time with an extension of .InstallState. I have experimented with deleting this file and an uninstall still works fine afterwards. So my questions is, what is this file for and is there any reason I shouldn't delete it?

    I have a little piece of python code in the server script for my website which looks a little bit like this: console.append([str(x) for x in data]) console.append(str(max(data))) quite simple, you might think, however the result it's outputting is this: ['3', '12', '3'] 3 for some reason python thinks 3 is the max of [3,12,3]! So am I doing something wrong? Or this is misbehaviour on the part of python?

  • Is there a POSIX syscall to resolve file system paths?

    Is there a POSIX syscall to resolve filesystem paths? I have the CWD for a path, as well as the path to a file from that CWD. I can't use chdir to switch to the directory because I need to resolve paths from multiple threads simultaneously. I considered appending a / in between the CWD and the path, but for some reason it feels like that's hacky. Is that the proper way to resolve relative paths?

QUESTION: Is there any reason in fact I should use an abstract class here as opposed to just a normal class?
