  • protobuf-net: Incorrect wire-type deserializing TimeSpan

    I get this exception when my client application is trying to deserialize a message comming from WCF service ("Incorrect wire-type deserializing TimeSpan"). I'm using .NET 3.5 SP1 and latest version of protobuf-net (1.0.0.275). I have no idea what could be the issue comming from. I don't undersand the reason of this error message. Anyone?

  • ImageMagick on Mac OSX Snow Leopard. Is there any way to get it to work?

    It seems that I have more trouble getting standard Unix things to run on Snow Leopard than any other platform--including Windows cygwin For the past couple of days, I've been trying to get ImageMagick to run on Snow Leopard. So now I'm two steps away from ImageMagick, trying to get a newer libiconv on my machine. I downloaded the latest libiconv, compiled and built it.   • Sinatra / Rack fails with non-ascii characters in url

    I am getting Encoding::UndefinedConversionError at /find/Wroclaw "\xC5" from ASCII-8BIT to UTF-8 For some mysterious reason sinatra is passing the string as ASCII instead of UTF-8 as it should. I have found some kind of ugly workaround... I don't know why Rack assumes the encoding is ASCII-8BIT ... anyway, a way is to use string.force_encoding("UTF-8")... but doing this for all params is tedious

  • Linux cc compliation of library in directory within project?

    My directory structure looks like the following: -xmllib -libxml++-1.0.a -main.cc ..and I issue the command: cc -lstdc++ -L./xmllib -llibxml++-1.0.a main.cc But then it tells me that it can't find the binary for the library...even though I issued the command from the root directory. /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -llibxml++-1.0.a main.cc collect2: ld returned 1 exit status Is there any reason why cc can't find the binary library? I'm using cc version 2.96 (yes, it's old).

Of late i have been pondering over the question of moving to HTML 5. The reason behind my apprehension is that IE6 is still a major player in terms of market share and i don't want to lose it.     Is there a way to find out what page a ListView item is on and to programmatically go to that page? I have a ListView with a DataPager that controls the paging. The reason for this is that, if I am on Page 2 of the ListView and I navigate away from the page, when I go back, I want to go back to the ListView page I was previously on.

While the button shows up clicking on it opens up a new page rather than showing an iframe modal message or on hover a list of popular social media networks to share the page with. Wonder what would be the easiest way to resolve this and why this happens?

With Materialized Views however, you can keep your data normalized, yet have it stored as a single table view for the same reasons why you'd use NoSQL. As such, why would someone use NoSQL over Materialized Views?

  • json-framework error in iPhone static library

    I have an iPhone app that uses the json-framework. I moved some of the code, including the json-framework source, from the main project to a static library. When I did this, the json-framework stopped getting compiled into the binary (double checked with class dump). This causes a nasty error: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[NSCFString JSONValue]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x43897f0' Everything else in the static library continues to function properly.
