• Working with foreigh keys - cannot insert

  Hi everyone! Doing my first tryouts with foreign keys in a mySQL database and are trying to do a insert, that fails for this reason: Integrity constraint violation: 1452 Cannot add or update a child row: a foreign key constraint fails Does this mean that foreign keys restrict INSERTS as well as DELETES and/or UPDATES on each table that is enforced with foreign keys relations? Thanks!

  I have just noticed that my ViewController does not call init (See below) when it starts up. -(id)init { self = [super init]; if(self) { NSLog(@"_init: %@", [self class]); otherStuff... } return self; } Is there a reason for this, or is it replaced by viewDidLoad -(void)viewDidLoad { otherStuff ..   i have a modelview controller with more than 20 views and imageviews. im navigating to other controller while loading this controller textfiled bocomefirst responder and keyboard will be there.Here the push navigation is very slow and not smooth. when i pop previoius controller the keyboard moving very fast to right and then only controller moving. if anybody know the reason please help me. i have to keep the keybord with tht controller.

  Hello All, If I define something in a pre-compiled header like: #define __BUILD_MAC__ and then in a header file do: #ifdef __BUILD_MAC__ typedef void* HINSTANCE; #endif This should work. But for some reason It isn't. I know because when I compile I get errors about HINSTANCE not naming a type. Do I need to do anything else to make these defines available?

  It's not the largest integer type anymore now that there's "long long". It's not a fixed-width type: It's 32 bits on some platforms and 64 on others. It's not necessarily the same size as a pointer (for example, on 64-bit Windows) So, does "long" have any meaning anymore? Is there ever a reason to declare a long instead of a ptrdiff_t or int64_t?

I hope I could run several copies of my solver(maybe with different parameters) in parallel simultaneously on a multi-core computer. can I do this with TBB?   For some strange reason when I have nested object intializers it always gets the last '}' wrong.   Hi everyone! I'm having problems with putting a favicon on my website! I have this code <link rel="shortcut icon" type="image/ico" href="img/favicon.ico"> And for some reason Firefox shows the favicon fine, but on webkit browsers its not showing up. I tried Google Chrome and Safari on a Mac and its not showing up, do I need to do something for these browsers?

  I just came across a SQL statement that uses AS to alias tables, like this: SELECT all, my, stuff FROM someTableName AS a INNER JOIN someOtherTableName AS b ON a.id = b.id What I'm used to seeing is: SELECT all, my, stuff FROM someTableName a INNER JOIN someOtherTableName b ON a.id = b.id I'm assuming there's no difference and it's just syntactic sugar, but which of these is more prevalent/wide-spread? Is there any reason to prefer one over the other?

  I am using JSP, Struts 1.3 and Apache Tomcat 5.5. For some reason response from JSP is being truncated and complete information is not shown. Class generated from the problem JSP page looks just fine. There are no any errors logged in Catalina's logs. I have no idea how this issue can be fixed.

• How does WAS/IIS manage ServiceHost instances?

  It appears that WAS will call ServiceHostFactory.CreateHost() once per each service implementation. How does WAS manage the lifetime of the ServiceHost/ServiceHostFactory? We have a custom factory/host that is occasionally being re-initialized. I'm wondering if WAS is recycling itself or it has some other reason to re-create the ServiceHostFactory/ServiceHost. I'm guessing the ServiceHostFactory gets fired up for the AppDomain and is a singleton, can someone confirm?

  I have a SharePoint list that accepts incoming email and has two calculated columns based on the Email Subject. Immediate alerts, RSS etc all work fine but the Weekly Summary Alert has #VALUE! for all the calculated columns. Is there a reason for this? Can I get it to show that actual calculated value?

It would appear that I have a choice between serializing as XAML or as RTF, and am wondering if there are any advantages to serializing to XAML over RTF, which I would consider as more "standard". In particular, am I losing any capability by serializing to RTF instead of XAML? I understand XAML supports custom classes inside the FlowDocument, but I'm not currently using any custom classes (though the potential for extensibility might be enough reason to use XAML).

• Drupal timezone information

  In my drupal installation I can get the offset from UTC in seconds to the timezone I specified in the admin panel using variable_get('date_default_timezone', 0) However, now that we have daylight-saving-time, the time I get is always off by one hour. Is there a way to retrieve the actual timezone string from Drupal, as "Europe/Berlin" for example? The reason is, that I have to use this with Zend Framework's Zend_Date, but Drupal does not set the PHP default timezone, as echo date_default_timezone_get(); gives me System/Localtime.
