    Hi, I have a stateless EJB that acceses my database. I need this bean in a JSF 2 converter to retreive an entity object from the String value parameter. I'm using JEE6 with Glassfish V3 @EJB annotation does not work and gets a NPE, because it's in the faces context and it has not access to the ejb context. My question is: Is it still possible to Inject this bean (With a @Resource or other annotation, a JNDI lookup,...), or do i need a workaround?   • WPF binding: Doing a temperature converter app

    Hi there, I'm doing a little app that basically has 2 text boxes. You'll enter Fahrenheit into TextBoxA and Celsius into TextBoxB. As the text changes in TextBoxA I want the equivalent Celsius value to be displayed in TextBoxB and vice versa. I can come up with a solution pretty easy for this but i'm trying to be a little clever. Is there a way to do it all in Xaml except for a Convert class that does the maths? So basically I want the TextChanged event of one textBox to pass in it's value into a Converter class that is evaluated and sent to the other TextBox and visa versa. Anyone know how I can achieve this ... and if it's possible at all?

  • Comapring pitches with digital audio

    I work on application which will compare musical notes with digital audio. My first idea was analyzes wav file (or sound in real-time) with some polyphonic pitch algorithms and gets notes and chords from this file and subsequently compared with notes in dataset. I went through a lot of pages and it seems to be a lot of hard work because existing implementations and algorithms are mainly/only focus on monophonic sound. Now, I got the idea to do this in the opposite way. In dataset I have for example note: A4 or better example chord: A4 B4 H4. And my idea is make some wave (or whatever I don't know what) from this note or chord and then compared with piece of digital audio. Is this good idea? Is it better/harder solution? If yes can you recommend me how to do it?

    i configure my messageconverter as Jackson's then class Foo{int x; int y} and in controller @ResponseBody public Foo method(){ return new Foo(3,4) } from that i m expecting to return a JSON string {x:'3',y:'4'} from server without any other configuration. but getting 404 error response to my ajax request If the method is annotated with @ResponseBody, the return type is written to the response HTTP body. The return value will be converted to the declared method argument type using HttpMessageConverters.   • HTML to RTF Converter for .NET

    I've already seen lots of posts on the site for RTF to HTML and some other posts talking about some HTML to RTF converters, but I'm really trying to get a full breakdown of what is considered the most widely used commercial product, open source product or if people recommend going home grown. Apologies if you consider this a duplicate question, but I'm trying to create a product matrix to see what is the most viable for our application. I also think this would be helpful for others. The converter would be used in an ASP.NET 2.0 application (we're upgrading to 3.5 shortly but still sticking with WebForms) using SQLServer 2005 (soon 2008) as the DB. From reading a few posts, SautinSoft appears to be popular as a commercial component. Are there other commercial components that you'd recommend for converting HTML to RTF? Price does matter, but even if it's a little on the expensive side, please list it. For open source, I read that OpenOffice.org can be run as a service so that it can convert files. However, this appears to be only Java based. I imagine, I'd need some kind of interop to use this? What .NET open source components, if any, are out there for converting HTML to RTF? For home grown, is an XSLT the way to go with XHTML? If so, what component do you recommend for generating XHTML? Otherwise, what other home grown avenuses do you recommend. Also, please note that I currently don't care so much about RTF to HTML. If a commercial component offers this and the price is still the same, fine, otherwise please don't mention it.

    I'm writing a converter between some dialects of the same programming language. I've found a grammar on the net - it's complex and handles all the cases. Now I'm trying to write the appropriate actions. Most of the input is just going to be rewritten to output. What I need to do is parse function calls, do my magic (rename function, reorder arguments, etc) and write it. I'm using AST as output. When I come across a function call, I build a custom object structure (from classes defined in my target language), call the appropriate function and I have a string that represents the transformed function that I want to get. The problem is, what I'm supposed to do with that string? I'd like to replace the .text attribute of the enclosing rule, but setText() is only available on lexer rules and the rule's .text attribute is read-only.     I am using MTS datacard. I have usb_modeswitch installed and have configured the wvdial.conf file. When I do sudo wvdial cdma, the IPs and DNS addresses are also allocated but I still cant access internet.     Not sure if this is the right stack* site to post on but I believe cabling is a just subject. Essentially I have a Credit Card machine which is connected to a phone line via standard BT Socket. So basically, the port of the wall has a balun plugged in which takes the RJ45 outlet on the wall to BT, so I can plug the device in. This works fine, however I need the machine to be on the other side of the room so want to route it through my patch panel (strucutered cabling). How can this be done? So Device -- ? -- RJ45 port -- Patch Panel -- ? -- Balun out wall outlet Where ? is to be filled in ! :)

  • Dolby Digital Live (DDL) on Asus Rampage II Gene (Creative X-Fi Extreme)

    Hi there, I have an Asus Rampage II Gene motherboard which has X-Fi extreme built in. I can get it to work with Windows 7 ok using the Creative drivers, however when I try and install the DDL/DTS add on pack from Creative I get the error message: "There are no supported audio device available. You need to close the application. Click OK to close the application now" I don't understand it because I have the Creative software installed ok and supporting the sound without any problems. In Device manager the audio device comes up as 'High definition audio device' and uses driver: 6.1.7600.16385 from Microsoft. I tried using the Creative drivers which show up as 'soundmax HD audio' however these do not allow any of the Creative products to run properly. Please can anyone offer any help?   • How to check a digital certificate?

    I have extracted a certificate from a cable modem. Now I want to verify if this certificate is valid. If I understand correctly, the verification process consists of having the issuer sign the subject's public key and then comparing the result with the subject's signature. This signing process is done using the issuer's private key, which nobody but the issuer has access to. So even if I have both certificates on my PC, there is no way for me to verify the subject's validity. From this I can only conclude that the verification must be implemented as a remote service. The problem is that I don't know what remote service I need to access to verify this certificate. The issuer is "AVM GmbH Cable Modem Root Certificate Authority". How can I find the webservice for verification? Is there standard lookup mechanism for this?

    Afternoon, Clients, 10 : All Apples running either Leopard or Snow Leopard Server : Snow Leopard server, (and I have a old Dell Poweredge 650 at home running Gentoo 2.6, if anybody as a Linux solution). The situation: I work in small design company with 8 people, at present we are looking to consolidate all our image files onto one location, at present we each use our preferred single user DAM solution, be it, Adobe Bridge, iPhoto/Aperture (some don't bother at all) The filetypes commonly used are .psd, .pdf, .eps, .tiff, .jpg and RAW image files. Ideally what is needed: Centralised on one server, but allows us to search via spotlight (not essential, but would be nice) Include searchable metadata information such as date, location, title Open-source or as low cost as possibly Allow simultaneous users to import files So far, I have looked at a few open source DAM, systems, such as Razuna, Gallery (not strictly DAM), ResourceSpace, Notre-DAM, while these are brilliant and open-source, they don't integrate as smoothly with the Desktop as iPhoto and aperture. For iPhoto and aperture, I have tried creating a Shared library on the server (a tad laggy), and also using a drive with no permissions, put a library and letting each client read from it, however if they want to put images onto the library only, it's only supports one user at a time writing to the library... Any ideas what could fulfill our needs? Or is it time to bite the bullet for FinalCut Server? Thanks in advance.

    I recently reformatted my box and I reinstalled XP Media Center 2005. My TV signal is perfect if I plug it directly into the tv; and at any rate even shows I recorded previous to the reformat are blury. I have installed all updates (including Media Player 11) and I have installed a codec pack for different file types. I have no clue why it wouldn't display right. When I play the previously recorded shows in VLC they come out perfectly clear... Any ideas?

    We recently purchased a volume license for Adobe Indesign from Dell. We received an e-mail for the order that contains the serial #. However, there is no information on how to obtain Adobe Indesign from the Adobe licensing portal. This is our first time dealing with Adobe volume licensing so I'm a bit lost as to what we're suppose to do. I've googled around a little and found an Adobe License Portal but I do not have access to it. Does anyone with experience concerning Adobe volume licensing have any idea what we're suppose to do to get a download of our purchase?

    How do I recover lost data from sd card? I already tried using: Photorec Recuva Tune up undelete Pareto data recovery chkdsk x: /F from here: http://superuser.com/questions/128259/how-to-recover-images-from-memory-card But none of them worked. I think I've only lost the data yesterday. And I haven't used the camera. So there's a possibility that it is still there. But the question is how I can recover the images? I think its lost when I tried to connect the digicam with the computer. But the camera froze so I tried to remove the batteries then try again.

  • Lagging digital tv over ethernet

    I have a HD Home Run TV over ethernet device, which connects the aerial to my router, and from there the router connects to my PC over about 15m of 100Mbps ethernet cable. The TV output lags every second. It does not do so for a computer much closer to the router. It is odd to me that the network rate is around 7Mbps on a 100Mbps cable. I am not downloading or streaming anything else on the affected computer. Is this lag caused by the speed of the cable, the length of the cable, or interference on the cable? I am considering swapping the ethernet cable with shielded ethernet cable.

    I have a Intel Atom PC that I'm shoe-horning into a role as a media server. I have a 5.1 surround sound speaker set that works pretty well. I want to be able to take the optical out from my cable box or PS3 and route it into the PC so that I can play it surround sound. Is there a low price video card that has 5.1 and optical in that works with Ubuntu?
