    Hi, I am currently looking around for a good allround beat detection library / source code in C++ since I found it really hard to achieve satisfying results with the beat detection code I wrote myself using this tutorial: http://www.gamedev.net/reference/programming/features/beatdetection/ It's especially really hard if you want to make it work with any kind of music so I was wondering if there is something usable out there allready?   • Script to create ODBC connection

    I need to deploy some software through SMS/SCCM and the software requires that an ODBC connection be created in Windows. The connection information I was given requires a user name and password. I have a batch script to import the connection information into the registry, however I don't know how to go about putting the user name and password in.     Hi, when I use the asp:Menu the popoutimage is by default enable, I know I can disable it, but I kind of like it. The thing is I modified my background & foreground of the menu and so the popoutimage arrow is blended in the background. Is there a way to change the settings of this? And how should I go about?     So I have been looking around for some time now on a way to produce a variable tone on the iPhone using OpenAL, the issue being the Apple has deprecated the ALUT part of OpenAL that has the alutCreateBufferWaveform that would be perfect for this. I was wondering if anyone had any idea how to make a tone generator using OpenAL on the iPhone SDK. All I need is the ability to produce a certain frequency tone consistantly over and over again. This is a last resort so sorry if it sounds kind of stupid.

    mechanize's Browser class is great and it's follow_link() function is great too. But what to do with this kind of links: <a href="http://example.com"><img src="…"></a> Is there any way to follow such links? The text attribute of this type of links is simply '[IMG]', so AFAIK, there is no way to differentiate such links. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Django - testing using large tables of static data

    I am using "manage.py test" along with a JSON fixture I created using using 'dumpdata' My problem is that several of the tables in the fixture are very large (for example one containing the names of all cities in the US) which makes running a test incredibly slow. Seeing as several of these tables are never modified by the program (eg - the city names will never need to be modified), it doesn't make much sense to create and tear down these tables for every test run. Is there a better way to be testing this code using this kind of data?

    Ok so I had a qustion awhile back regarding Silverlight 4 Data Binding with anonymous types, one of the answers was to use [assembly: System.Runtime.CompilerServices.InternalsVisibleTo("System.Windows")] in your AssemblyInfo.cs file. I tried this and it works! I know I'm making all my internal properties classes and methods visible to the System.Windows Assembley. But what kind of risk is this with the following in mind: The product is a hosted silverlight based web application, so it wont be distributed. Thanks in advance

  • Good Email Notification Sending Service

    I need to send a few but important email notifications to individual users. For instance, when they register their software I send them a confirmation email. Right now, I am using 'sendmail' from my Perl CGI script to do the job. Most of my automated email are lost or marked as junk. Unfortunately, I am using shared hosting services and not a very good control over the SPF and SenderID DNS records. Even more bad, some other user of that shared server has been infected with some kind of SPAM-BOT and the IP is now blacklisted until further notice! Anyway I just don't want to deal with this kind of headache. I am looking for an online service that I will be able to subscribe to and pay something like 0.10$ per email I send with no monthly fees. I just need and API to be able to send the email from PHP or Perl code I will have to write. I have been looking around at all those "Email Sending Services" and they are all wrapped around creating campains and managing lists for bulk email marketing distribution and newsletters. But remember, I want to send an email notification to a "single" recipient. So far, I have look at MailChimp, SocketLabs, iContact, ConstantContact, StreamSend and so many others to no avail. I have seen one comment at Hackers News saying that MailChimp have an API for transactional e-mails (i.e. ad-hoc ones to welcome a user for example). So you're not just restricted to using them for bulk emails But I cannot find this in the API documentation supplied, maybe this was removed. Any suggestions out there. Here is a summary of my requirements: Allows ad hoc sending of email to a single recipient. Throughput may well be throttle I don't care, i am sending like 2-5 emails a day. API available in PHP or Perl to connect to that web service. Ideally I can send HTML formatted emails, otherwise I will live with text only. Solution not too expensive, between 0.01$ and 0.25$ per email would be acceptable. No recurring monthly fees.
