  Hello, I am using MySQL and PHP. I am having a problem with inserting a new item at the end of my table. When I insert the new item appears after the last created item, but I want it to be entered at the bottom of the table. Suppose that I have a table id=int,Primary Key and album=string and the table is: Wrath Crack The Skye Enter Shikari What would the MySQL query be if php variable $album=myAlbum was to be inserted next, at the end of the table, and with the appropriate id? • Adding business logic to a domain class using a getter style method name

  I'm attempting to add a method to a grails domain class, e.g. class Item { String name String getReversedName() { name.reverse() } } When I attempt to load the application using grails console I get the following error: Caused by: org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'sessionFactory':Invocation of init method failed; nested exception is org.hibernate.PropertyNotFoundException: Could not find a setter for property reversedName in class Item ... 18 more It looks like Hibernate is interpreting getReversedName() as a getter for a property, however in this case it is a derived field and hence should not be persisted. Obviously in my actual code the business logic I'm exposing is more complex but it isn't relevant to this question. I want to be able to call item.reversedName in my code/gsps. How can I provide property (getter) access to a method in a Grails domain class without Grails attempting to map it with Hibernate?

  Hi, I`m making an online engine for item-to-item recommending movies. I have made some researches and I think that the best way to implement that is using pearson correlation and make a table with item1, item2 and correlation fields, but the problem is that after each rate of item I have to regenerate the correlation for in the worst case N records (where N is the number of items). Another think that I read is the following article, but I haven`t thought a way to implement it. So what is your suggestion to optimize this process? Or any other suggestions? Thanks.

• C# Virtual Mode List View Click 1 Selects More Than One Items

  I have a list view with virtual mode set to true and other things. It doing ok. But 1) Say there are 25 items and 15 of them are visible, that is to see the rest of 10 items need to scroll down. 2) Before scrolling swap two items, say myItems[0], it must be visible & myItems[20], it must be not visible scroll required. 3) Now select the first item, it was swapped, you now have two items selected, both 0 indexed and 20 indexed ones. When after swap, those two list view items are of same Position and same Bounds. But before 20-indexed item's Position was (-1, -1) and Bounds was (0,0,0,0). How come 0-indexed item didn't change its position & size? How to solve this ?

• Designing a recipe database that needs to include ingredients as well as sub-recipes

  I am designing a recipe database that needs to be very flexible as it is going to be communicating directly with our back-of-house inventory system. This is what I have so far in regards to the tables: Recipe: this table will contain the recipe date: the name, steps needed to cook, etc. Ingredients/Inventory: this is our back of house inventory, so this will have the information about each product that will be used in our recipes. Recipe Line Item: This is the tricky table, I want to be able link to the ingredients here as well as the quantity needed for the recipe, but I also need to be able to directly include recipes from the recipe table (such as marinara sauce that we make in-house), and that is why I am having trouble figuring out the best way to design this table. Basically, the recipe line item table needs to be able to link to either the ingredients table or the recipe table depending on which line item is needed and I want to know what would be the most effective way to handle that.   I have a ListView control on my form set up like this in details mode: What I would like to do, is get all the values of the data cells when the user presses the Delete booking button. So using the above example, my array would be filled with this data: values(0) = "asd" values(1) = "BS1" values(2) = "asd" values(3) = "21/04/2010" values(4) = "2" This is my code so far: Private Sub Button3_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button3.Click Dim items As ListView.SelectedListViewItemCollection = _ Me.ManageList.SelectedItems Dim item As ListViewItem Dim values(0 To 4) As String Dim i As Integer = 0 For Each item In items values(i) = item.SubItems(i).Text i = i + 1 Next End Sub But only values(0) gets filled with the first data cell of the selection (in this case "asd") and the rest of the array entries are blank. I have confirmed this with a breakpoint and checked the array entries myself. I'm REALLY lost on this, and have been trying for about an hour now. Any help would be appreciated, thanks :) Also please note that there can only be one row selection at once. Thanks.

  Hi, I have a bunch of items – for simplicity reasons – a flat table with unique names seeded via bulk insert: create table #items ( ItemName NVARCHAR(255) ) The database has this structure: create table Statements ( Id INT IDENTITY NOT NULL, Version INT not null, FurtherDetails varchar(max) null, ProposalDateTime DATETIME null, UpdateDateTime DATETIME null, ProposerFk INT null, UpdaterFk INT null, primary key (Id) ) create table Item ( StatementFk INT not null, ItemName NVARCHAR(255) null, primary key (StatementFk) ) Here Item is a child of Statement (inheritance). I would like to insert items in #items using a set based approach (avoiding triggers and loops). Can this be achieved with OUTPUT in my scenario. A ‘loop based’ approach is just too slow where I use something like this: insert into Statements (Version, FurtherDetails, ProposalDateTime, UpdateDateTime, ProposerFk, UpdaterFk) VALUES (1, null, getdate(), getdate(), @user_id, @user_id) etc. This is a start for the OUTPUT based approach – but I am not sure whether this would work in my case as ItemName is only inserted into Item: insert into Statements ( Version, FurtherDetails, ProposalDateTime, UpdateDateTime, ProposerFk, UpdaterFk ) output inserted.Id ... ??? • How to structure (normalize?) a database of physical parameters?

  Hello: I have a collection of physical parameters associated with different items. For example: Item, p1, p2, p3 a, 1, 2, 3 b, 4, 5, 6 [...] where px stands for parameter x. I could go ahead and store the database exactly as presented; the schema would be CREATE TABLE t1 (item TEXT PRIMARY KEY, p1 FLOAT, p2 FLOAT, p3 FLOAT); I could retrieve the parameter p1 for all the items with the statement: SELECT p1 FROM t1; A second alternative is to have an schema like: CREATE TABLE t1 (id INT PRIMARY KEY, item TEXT, par TEXT, val FLOAT) This seems much simpler if you have many parameters (as I do). However, the parameter retrieval seems very awkward: SELECT val FROM t1 WHERE par == 'p1' What do you advice? Should go for the "pivoted" (first) version or the id, par, val (second) version?   Hi, I wrote Powershell script to copy a worksheet from a workbook A to another workbook B. The worksheet contains define names for ranges within that sheet. Originally, the defined names are global in workbook A, ie. can be referenced from any worksheets within workbook A. But now, after copy to worksheet B, the defined names are limited to that worksheet only. How to I programmatically (via Powershell script preferably) make all those named range global i.e. can be referenced from all worksheets within workbook B. • Can you explain this odd behavior with dragging items into nested sortables?

  I have the following setup: A sortable list where one of the <li> has a table with lists in each cell. All of the lists are sortable with each other. Draggable items that can be added to any of the sortables Issue: When adding a draggable item ('drag 1', 'drag 2', 'drag 3') to one of the lists in the horizontal lists (table of lists) it duplicates the draggable when dropped. Sometimes it will create both copies in the same list or one in the item list and one in the column list. What is the best way to do this? I'm assuming some use of CFDIV is the best way, but I'm not sure how to load the dynamic content (the CFINPUTs) this way.

When you'r adding a list of items, I do something like: var template = new Template("<li id='list#{id}'>#{value}</li>"); var arrayTemplate = []; arrayOfItem.each(function(item, index){ arrayTemplate.push(template.evaluate( id : index, value : item)) }); after this two options add the list via "update" or "insert" ----- $("elementToUpdate").update("<ul>" + arrayTemplate.join("") + "</ul">); the question is how can I add the event handler without repeat the process of read the array, this is because if you try add a Event before the update or insert you will get an Error because the element isn't still on the DOM. so what I'm doing by now is after insert or update: arrayOfItem.each(function(item, index){ $("list" + index).observe("click", function(){ alert("I see the world"); }) }); so the question is exist a better way to doing this??????

• MonoRail - Clearing value on edit form submission doesn't trigger validation

  Hey, In a MonoRail app I have an add/edit view. On add if I don't pick a value for a dropdown I get a validation error and am forced to pick a value. However, if I then edit that same item and reset the dropdown back to the first item ("Select an Item", "0"), it saves and doesn't say it was invalid. Debugging the entity sent back to the server, I can see that it's sending the original value for the dropdown instead of the new value of "0". What's going on here? The first thing I would expect is that it would trigger the validation since the dropdown value isn't set. The second thing I would expect is that it would send the new value I send, not the original. It does send the new value if I change it to another value, but it's as if it has internal logic that says - "I'm updating this entity and a new value was not passed, just don't change the entity value."   The thing is I writing a J2ME program that fisrt of all show a "menu" using graphics interface (GameCanvas) and when the user select one item, I need to setCurrent that item (ex. a List), but when return from the List (it could be because the user push a Command "Menu" Item) I need to show the menu again. The real problem when the menu show again, the keyPressed() listener of gamecanvas object stop working. Basically I have: A Midlet object with: GameCanvas object instance A List object instance I don't understand how that works, I didn't find tutorial that share low and high graphics-level APIs on one Midlet.

  Hello, I have a very strange problem which I will be very thankful if someone would help me with. I have a form that has a textarea whose content is later transferred to a page that has a line like this (using DOM with php to change data on an XML file): $dom-getElementsByTagName("page")-item($itemNum)-getElementsByTagName("lang")-item(1)-getElementsByTagName("text")-item(0)-firstChild-data=$_POST['rus0']; The XML file in question looks like this: The strange thing happens when I upload it to the server and try to input Russian text, in which case it erases the CDATA completely and results in And, weirdly, the thing works fine on my own server emulator (I'm using MAMP with php 5, the remote server also has php 5) - in my machine inputing Russian works fine. Any ideas what's going on in this?

  When I right-click in my class library, I get some quick options to create things, like an Item from the popup list (New Item...), a User Control, etc. E.g. Now in my web app project, I'd like to be able to get the User Control listed in the right-click menu just like Component and Class, so I don't have to click New Item... then choose it from there. Is there a way to do this in the configuration? I can't seem to figure it out in VS.

• Binding to a List<object> in silverlight problem.

  Hello, Can someone suggest what I am doing wrong? Basically I have a List Items, when an item gets added to the list I am resetting the collection to the viewmodel property. The only way I can get it to work is if I null the member object out before reassigning the binding.
