    Hi All, I need to read a BLOB and store it in a byte[], before going forward with Deserializing; Consider: //Reading the Database with DataAdapterInstance.Fill(DataSet); DataTable dt = DataSet.Tables[0]; foreach (DataRow row in dt.Rows) { byte[] BinDate = Byte.Parse(row["Date"].ToString()); // convert successfully to byte[] } I need help in this C# statement, as I am not able to convert an object type into a byte[].   • How do you write byte[] array using log4.net

    Hi, I have a byte[] with some data in it, I would like to write this byte array AS-IS to the log file using log4.net. The problems that i am facing is that There are no overload for byte[] in TextWriter, so even implementing an IObjectRenderer is of no use. I dont have access to the underlying Stream object of Log4.net Also tried converting byte[] into char[] still when i write it, it adds an extra byte. Is this even possible with Log4.net. Thanx in Advance.

    What is the time limit for two taps to be considered a double-tap, on the iPhone OS? // Edit: Why is this important? In order to handle single-tap and double-tap differently, Apple's guide says to do performSelector...afterDelay with some 'reasonable' interval on first tap (and cancel it later if the second tap is detected). The problem is that if the interval is too short (0.1), the single tap action will be performed even when double-tapping (if relying only on tapCount, that is). If it's too long (0.8), the user will be waiting unnecessarily for the single-tap to be recognized, when there is no possibility for a double-tap. It has to be exactly the correct number, in order to work optimally, but definitely not smaller, or there's a chance for bugs (simultaneous single-tap and double-tap).

    Is this the proper way to use a static const variable? In my top level class (Shape) #ifndef SHAPE_H #define SHAPE_H class Shape { public: static const double pi; private: double originX; double originY; }; const double Shape::pi = 3.14159265; #endif And then later in a class that extends Shape, I use Shape::pi. I get a linker error. I moved the const double Shape::pi = 3.14... to the Shape.cpp file and my program then compiles. Why does that happen? thanks.

    i have string like "0x5D, 0x50, 0x68, 0xBE, 0xC9, 0xB3, 0x84, 0xFF" i wanna convert it into byte[] key= new byte[] { 0x5D, 0x50, 0x68, 0xBE, 0xC9, 0xB3, 0x84, 0xFF}; i thought about splitting the string by ',' then loop on it and setvalue into another byte[] in index of i string Key = "0x5D, 0x50, 0x68, 0xBE, 0xC9, 0xB3, 0x84, 0xFF"; string[] arr = Key.Split(','); byte[] keybyte= new byte[8]; for (int i = 0; i < arr.Length; i++) { keybyte.SetValue(Int32.Parse(arr[i].ToString()), i); } but seems like it doesn't work i get error in converting the string into unsigned int32 on the first beginning an help would be appreciated

    I'm using OleDbDataReader rdr to read a "Comments" field in BLOB form (sub_type 1 segment size 80) into a string from an Interbase DB, and I keep getting exceptions. Any suggestions? Attempt #1 ls_Chap_Comments.Add((rdr["Comments"]).ToString()); InvalidCastException: The data value could not be converted for reasons other than sign mismatch or data overflow.     I'm starting with the two values below: finalString = "38,05,e1,5f,aa,5f,aa,d0"; string[] holder = finalString.Split(','); I'm looping thru holder like so: foreach (string item in holder) { //concatenate 0x and add the value to a byte array } On each iteration I would like to concatenate a 0x to make it a hex value and add it to a byte array. This is what I want the byte array to be like when I finish the loop: byte[] c = new byte[]{0x38,0x05,0xe1,0x5f,0xaa,0x5f,0xaa,0xd0}; So far all my attempts have not been successful. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    I have an encryption algorithm (AES) that accepts file converted to array byte and encrypt it. Since I am going to process a very big size files, the JVM may go out of memory. I am planing to read the files in multiple array byte. each containing some part of the file. Then I teratively feed the algorithm. Finally merge them to produce encrypted file. So my question is: there any way to read a file part by part to multiple array byte? I thought I can use the following to read the file to array byte: IOUtils.toByteArray(InputStream input). And then split the array into multiple bytes using: Arrays.copyOfRange(). But I am afraid that the first code that reads file to byte will make the JVM to go out of memory. any suggestion please ? thanks

That’s when I got an error that my two Macs had the same name. Oops! Luckily it’s an extremely easy fix. Just open up System Preferences, go to Sharing, and change the computer name. Done! You can also change it from the Terminal using this command, though obviously it’s much simpler to just change it under Sharing.

    After getting a new MacBook Air and deciding to try out OS X for a while, I started wondering why the battery would suddenly start dying really fast, but only when I was sitting at the kitchen table. That’s when I noticed the display brightness kept changing on its own… and realized the problem. OS X, just like your phone, and any modern device, tries to figure out the brightness of the room you’re in, and adjust the brightness of the screen. If you are over in Windows, it’s called “Adaptive” brightness, while your phone will just call it “Auto”. While this technology is great in theory, I don’t really need max brightness all the time, and I like to control it manually to make sure I’m getting the best battery life. Open up System Preferences, head to Displays. Then uncheck the Automatically adjust brightness setting.

  • Double sides face with two normals

    I think this isn't possible, but I just want to check this: Is it possible to create a face in opengl that has two normals? So: I want the inside and outside of some cilinder to be drawn, but I want the lights to do as expected and not calculate it for the normal given. I was trying to do this with backface culling off, so I would have both faces, but the light was wrongly calculated of course. Is this possible, or do I have to draw an inside and an outside? So draw twice?

  • Desktop switcher appears to be broken for quick double-switches

    I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this. I have three virtual desktops aligned in a horizontal row. In the middle desktop I have only a single application window. I have keyboard shortcuts mapping to navigate between the desktops. Obviously, I never use the up/down arrows because I only have one row of workspaces. Here's the problem, which only started to happen after I installed 12.04.1: When I rapidly hit to go from workspace 1 to workspace 3, the window on workspace 2 gets moved to workspace 1. I have checked using both Unity and Gnome3, and the behavior is the same under both. If I change back to the default workspace setup (a 2x2 grid of desktops) things seem to settle down (i.e., no wandering windows). Not every type of application window behaves the same way. I couldn't get a Chrome browser to jump from 2 to 1, but both Terminal and Terminator exhibit the behavior. Any thoughts? Better workarounds? Thanks in advance.

  • Screensaver + lock double login problem after Maverick upgrade

    Just found something strange after updating from 10.04 to 10.10. I've set up my screensaver to lock the account when activated. When I log back in, I see my desktop for a second and then the screensaver starts again and I have to re-login. I checked my process list in gnome system monitor, and I have two gnome-screensaver processes(!?), one started as /usr/bin/gnome-screensaver and other simply as gnome-screensaver. And no, I did not start one manually. Where do I look for a way to switch off one of those (supposing that's the problem)? I did not find anything in my startup applications.

    I'm not much of a techie but my friend who is a software engineer suggested I download ubuntu after my Windows computer was not connecting to certain Wi-Fi networks ( including the one at my house). He said it may be because of the drivers. I did download ubuntu but now the home screen is totally off center.Any ideas? Step by step instructions would be awesome since I'm not super great at this!     The Contacts app on OS X isn’t very interesting, but if you can use it to display your Gmail contacts, it’ll get a little bit better. Luckily it’s pretty easy to add your Google / Gmail contacts, but you’ll have to click the mouse a few times and maybe poke at the old keyboard once or twice to type in your email address and password. It’s worth noting that if you set up Gmail in the Mail app you shouldn’t have to do this. Since we prefer Gmail in a browser, that’s why we’re writing this. Or just because we’re procrastinating the book editing that we’re supposed to be doing. Don’t judge. Start by opening the Preferences for the Contacts app by heading up to the Menu bar. Go to Accounts and then click the + sign to add a new one. Choose CardDAV for the account type, use your Gmail username and password, and put google.com as the server address. If you are using two-factor authentication, you’ll need to create a specific password for this account.

I added the script to the GUITexture I created and placed on the top right side of the screen.The issue stands at the part where if the player clicks the pause button then clicks resume then he wants to pause the game again.When he clicks pause the second time the buttons dont show up unless he clicks again. Insert a YouTube Video Into a PowerPoint Presentation in Office 2013 Go ahead and open PowerPoint and switch over to the Insert tab. Then click on Video, and then Online Video… If this is your first time inserting a video from YouTube, you will need to add it as a provider from the bottom left hand side of the dialog. Once added, you will be able to enter a search term. You can then simply select a video and hit the insert button. That’s all there is to it. Remember Videos come with their own set of editing options, so be sure to take a look around.
