  • Export Import error 'SSIS Data Flow Task could not be created' ... registering DTSPipeline.dll, cannot create task "STOCK:PipelineTask"

    - by Moin Zaman
I'm about to throw in the towel on this one. Running SQL Server 2008 enterprise on Windows 7 x64. Can't get past this issue. When I try to Import / Export Data from databases through SQL Server Management Studio I get the following Error. Error: TITLE: SQL Server Import and Export Wizard ------------------------------ The SSIS Data Flow Task could not be created. Verify that DTSPipeline.dll is available and registered. The wizard cannot continue and it will terminate. ------------------------------ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Cannot create a task with the name "STOCK:PipelineTask". Verify that the name is correct. ({0194F10C-9860-4A4F-AF8B-DE7EFD89859F}) I have tried many solutions found via Google, but none of them have worked. A side issue that may be related is when I try to create an Integration Services Project in Business Intelligence Studio I get a 'project creation failed' error.

  • Terminal Server Spoolsv.exe error

    - by Voyager
We are having a terminal server ibm x3650 with 8 gb of RAM. On many occasions, at least once in a day, we get the error "The instruction at "0x7c8199b2" refrenced memory at "0x9ddc2ade". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program. Click on CANCEL to debug the program. I have surfed very many sites, microsoft included, but none of them have been able to give conclusive solution for ending this problem. When we press on ok or cancel, then our ERP application (VB-MS SQL) starts to work normally. till such time the message is there, all our reports are hanged (Business Objects reports). We have already installed all the drivers of printers on the TS. Can anyone help?

  • Amazon EC2 - Reserved Private Addresses

    - by reach4thelasers
I've got a private DNS Server running on Amazon EC2. I don't need a public IP Address because its only used for private addressing web1.xxx.internal database1.xxx.internal Problem is I had to terminate the instance recently and start a new one. This meant that the private IP address of the DNS server changed and I had to log in to each of my other 15 server one-by-one and change the DNS address to point to the new DNS server. There must be a better way to do this, if so, what is it?

  • Configure a warning when starting an application on Windows

    - by Guy
I have some software that's licensed to be used on one computer at a time. It connects to a service and retrieves data from that service. If I start the application on a second computer then the first computer's data connection is terminated. There are times when I'll be running the software on Computer1 and it's doing some vital work with its data collection etc. and I'll forget that it's running there and start it on Computer2 causing Computer1's data connection to terminate etc. What I want to do is configure a warning on Computer2 so that each time I start this application it pops up a dialog box and says "Hey, this software might be running on another computer, are you sure you want to start it here?" I'm using Windows 7 on Computer2. Is there anyway for me to accomplish this task?

  • Throwing a C++ exception from inside a Linux Signal handler

    - by SoapBox
As a thought experiment more than anything I am trying to get a C++ exception thrown "from" a linux signal handler for SIGSEGV. (I'm aware this is not a solution to any real world SIGSEGV and should never actually be done, but I thought I would try it out after being asked about it, and now I can't get it out of my head until I figure out how to do it.) Below is the closest I have come, but instead of the signal being caught properly, terminate() is being called as if no try/catch block is available. Anyone know why? Or know a way I can actually get a C++ exception from a signal handler? The code (beware, the self modifying asm limits this to running on x86_64 if you're trying to test it): #include <iostream> #include <stdexcept> #include <signal.h> #include <stdint.h> #include <errno.h> #include <string.h> #include <sys/mman.h> using namespace std; uint64_t oldaddr = 0; void thrower() { cout << "Inside thrower" << endl; throw std::runtime_error("SIGSEGV"); } void segv_handler(int sig, siginfo_t *info, void *pctx) { ucontext_t *context = (ucontext_t *)pctx; cout << "Inside SIGSEGV handler" << endl; oldaddr = context->uc_mcontext.gregs[REG_RIP]; uint32_t pageSize = (uint32_t)sysconf(_SC_PAGESIZE); uint64_t bottomOfOldPage = (oldaddr/pageSize) * pageSize; mprotect((void*)bottomOfOldPage, pageSize*2, PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE|PROT_EXEC); // 48 B8 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx = mov rax, xxxx *((uint8_t*)(oldaddr+0)) = 0x48; *((uint8_t*)(oldaddr+1)) = 0xB8; *((int64_t*)(oldaddr+2)) = (int64_t)thrower; // FF E0 = jmp rax *((uint8_t*)(oldaddr+10)) = 0xFF; *((uint8_t*)(oldaddr+11)) = 0xE0; } void func() { try { *(uint32_t*)0x1234 = 123456789; } catch (...) { cout << "caught inside func" << endl; throw; } } int main() { cout << "Top of main" << endl; struct sigaction action, old_action; action.sa_sigaction = segv_handler; sigemptyset(&action.sa_mask); action.sa_flags = SA_SIGINFO | SA_RESTART | SA_NODEFER; if (sigaction(SIGSEGV, &action, &old_action)<0) cerr << "Error setting handler : " << strerror(errno) << endl; try { func(); } catch (std::exception &e) { cout << "Caught : " << e.what() << endl; } cout << "Bottom of main" << endl << endl; } The actual output: Top of main Inside SIGSEGV handler Inside thrower terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error' what(): SIGSEGV Aborted Expected output: Top of main Inside thrower caught inside func Caught : SIGSEGV Bottom of main

  • 42 passed to TerminateProcess, sometimes GetExitCodeProcess returns 0

    - by Emil
    After I get a handle returned by CreateProcess, I call TerminateProcess, passing 42 for the process exit code. Then, I use WaitForSingleObject for the process to terminate, and finally I call GetExitCodeProcess. None of the function calls report errors. The child process is an infinite loop and does not terminate on its own. The problem is that sometimes GetExitCodeProcess returns 42 for the exit code (as it should) and sometimes it returns 0. Any idea why? #include <string> #include <sstream> #include <iostream> #include <assert.h> #include <windows.h> void check_call( bool result, char const * call ); #define CHECK_CALL(call) check_call(call,#call); int main( int argc, char const * argv[] ) { if( argc>1 ) { assert( !strcmp(argv[1],"inf") ); for(;;) { } } int err=0; for( int i=0; i!=200; ++i ) { STARTUPINFO sinfo; ZeroMemory(&sinfo,sizeof(STARTUPINFO)); sinfo.cb=sizeof(STARTUPINFO); PROCESS_INFORMATION pe; char cmd_line[32768]; strcat(strcpy(cmd_line,argv[0])," inf"); CHECK_CALL((CreateProcess(0,cmd_line,0,0,TRUE,0,0,0,&sinfo,&pe)!=0)); CHECK_CALL((CloseHandle(pe.hThread)!=0)); CHECK_CALL((TerminateProcess(pe.hProcess,42)!=0)); CHECK_CALL((WaitForSingleObject(pe.hProcess,INFINITE)==WAIT_OBJECT_0)); DWORD ec=0; CHECK_CALL((GetExitCodeProcess(pe.hProcess,&ec)!=0)); CHECK_CALL((CloseHandle(pe.hProcess)!=0)); err += (ec!=42); } std::cout << err; return 0; } std::string get_last_error_str( DWORD err ) { std::ostringstream s; s << err; LPVOID lpMsgBuf=0; if( FormatMessageA( FORMAT_MESSAGE_ALLOCATE_BUFFER|FORMAT_MESSAGE_FROM_SYSTEM|FORMAT_MESSAGE_IGNORE_INSERTS, 0, err, MAKELANGID(LANG_NEUTRAL,SUBLANG_DEFAULT), (LPSTR)&lpMsgBuf, 0, 0) ) { assert(lpMsgBuf!=0); std::string msg; try { std::string((LPCSTR)lpMsgBuf).swap(msg); } catch( ... ) { } LocalFree(lpMsgBuf); if( !msg.empty() && msg[msg.size()-1]=='\n' ) msg.resize(msg.size()-1); if( !msg.empty() && msg[msg.size()-1]=='\r' ) msg.resize(msg.size()-1); s << ", \"" << msg << '"'; } return s.str(); } void check_call( bool result, char const * call ) { assert(call && *call); if( !result ) { std::cerr << call << " failed.\nGetLastError:" << get_last_error_str(GetLastError()) << std::endl; exit(2); } }

  • Core Plot causing crash on device but not simulator.

    - by Eric
I'm using core plot to create a small plot in one of my view controllers. I have been pulling my hair out trying to track down this error. I install on the simulator and it works fine but as soon as I put it on my device I get the following error: 2010-02-04 22:15:37.394 Achieve[127:207] *** -[NSCFString drawAtPoint:withTextStyle:inContext:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x108530 2010-02-04 22:15:37.411 Achieve[127:207] *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[NSCFString drawAtPoint:withTextStyle:inContext:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x108530' 2010-02-04 22:15:37.427 Achieve[127:207] Stack: ( 843263261, 825818644, 843267069, 842763033, 842725440, 253481, 208187, 823956912, 823956516, 823956336, 823953488, 823952500, 823985628, 842717233, 843010887, 843009055, 860901832, 843738160, 843731504, 8797, 8692 ) terminate called after throwing an instance of 'NSException' Program received signal: “SIGABRT”. • Why does Saxon evaluate the result-document URI to be the same?

    - by Jan
    My XSL source document looks like this <Topology> <Environment> <Id>test</Id> <Machines> <Machine> <Id>machine1</Id> <modules> <module>m1</module> <module>m2</module> </modules> </Machine> </Machines> </Environment> <Environment> <Id>production</Id> <Machines> <Machine> <Id>machine1</Id> <modules> <module>m1</module> <module>m2</module> </modules> </Machine> <Machine> <Id>machine2</Id> <modules> <module>m3</module> <module>m4</module> </modules> </Machine> </Machines> </Environment> </Topology> I want to create one result-document per machine, so I use the following stylesheet giving modelDir as path for the result-documents as parameter. <xsl:output method="xml" version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes" name="myXML" doctype-system="http://java.sun.com/dtd/properties.dtd"/> <xsl:template match="/"> <xsl:for-each-group select="/Topology/Environment/Machines/Machine" group-by="Id"> <xsl:variable name="machine" select="Id"/> <xsl:variable name="filename" select="concat($modelDir,$machine,'.xml')" /> <xsl:message terminate="no">Writing machine description to <xsl:value-of select="$filename"/></xsl:message> <xsl:result-document href="$filename" format="myXML"> <xsl:variable name="currentMachine" select="Id"/> <xsl:for-each select="current-group()/LogicalHosts/LogicalHost"> <xsl:variable name="environment" select="normalize-space(../../../../Id)"/> <xsl:message terminate="no">Module <xsl:value-of select="."/> for <xsl:value-of select="$environment"/></xsl:message> </xsl:for-each> </xsl:result-document> </xsl:for-each-group> </xsl:template> As my messages show me this seems to work fine - if saxon would not evaluate the URI of the result-document to be the same and thus give the following output. Writing machine description to target/build/model/m1.xml Module m1 for test Module m2 for test Module m1 for production Module m2 for production Writing machine description to target/build/model/m2.xml Error at xsl:result-document on line 29 of file:/C:/Projekte/.../machine.xsl: XTDE1490: Cannot write more than one result document to the same URI, or write to a URI that has been read: file:/C:/Projekte/.../$filename file:/C:/Projekte/.../machine.xsl(29,-1) : here Cannot write more than one result document to the same URI, or write to a URI that has been read: file:/C:/Projekte/.../$filename ; SystemID: file:/C:/Projekte/.../machine.xsl; Line#: 29; Column#: -1 net.sf.saxon.trans.DynamicError: Cannot write more than one result document to the same URI, or write to a URI that has been read: file:/C:/Projekte/.../$filename at net.sf.saxon.instruct.ResultDocument.processLeavingTail(ResultDocument.java:300) at net.sf.saxon.instruct.Block.processLeavingTail(Block.java:365) at net.sf.saxon.instruct.Instruction.process(Instruction.java:91) Any ideas on how to solve this?

  • Reading input from a text file, omits the first and adds a nonsense value to the end?

    - by Greenhouse Gases
Hi there When I input locations from a txt file I am getting a peculiar error where it seems to miss off the first entry, yet add a garbage entry to the end of the link list (it is designed to take the name, latitude and longitude for each location you will notice). I imagine this to be an issue with where it starts collecting the inputs and where it stops but I cant find the error!! It reads the first line correctly but then skips to the next before adding it because during testing for the bug it had no record of the first location Lisbon though whilst stepping into the method call it was reading it. Very bizarre but hopefully someone knows the issue. Here is firstly my header file: #include <string> struct locationNode { char nodeCityName [35]; double nodeLati; double nodeLongi; locationNode* Next; void CorrectCase() // Correct upper and lower case letters of input { int MAX_SIZE = 35; int firstLetVal = this->nodeCityName[0], letVal; int n = 1; // variable for name index from second letter onwards if((this->nodeCityName[0] >90) && (this->nodeCityName[0] < 123)) // First letter is lower case { firstLetVal = firstLetVal - 32; // Capitalise first letter this->nodeCityName[0] = firstLetVal; } while(n <= MAX_SIZE - 1) { if((this->nodeCityName[n] >= 65) && (this->nodeCityName[n] <= 90)) { letVal = this->nodeCityName[n] + 32; this->nodeCityName[n] = letVal; } n++; } //cityNameInput = this->nodeCityName; } }; class Locations { private: int size; public: Locations(){ }; // constructor for the class locationNode* Head; //int Add(locationNode* Item); }; And here is the file containing main: // U08221.cpp : main project file. #include "stdafx.h" #include "Locations.h" #include <iostream> #include <string> #include <fstream> using namespace std; int n = 0,x, locationCount = 0, MAX_SIZE = 35; string cityNameInput; char targetCity[35]; bool acceptedInput = false, userInputReq = true, match = false, nodeExists = false;// note: addLocation(), set to true to enable user input as opposed to txt file locationNode *start_ptr = NULL; // pointer to first entry in the list locationNode *temp, *temp2; // Part is a pointer to a new locationNode we can assign changing value followed by a call to Add locationNode *seek, *bridge; void setElementsNull(char cityParam[]) { int y=0, count =0; while(cityParam[y] != NULL) { y++; } while(y < MAX_SIZE) { cityParam[y] = NULL; y++; } } void addLocation() { temp = new locationNode; // declare the space for a pointer item and assign a temporary pointer to it if(!userInputReq) // bool that determines whether user input is required in adding the node to the list { cout << endl << "Enter the name of the location: "; cin >> temp->nodeCityName; temp->CorrectCase(); setElementsNull(temp->nodeCityName); cout << endl << "Please enter the latitude value for this location: "; cin >> temp->nodeLati; cout << endl << "Please enter the longitude value for this location: "; cin >> temp->nodeLongi; cout << endl; } temp->Next = NULL; //set to NULL as when one is added it is currently the last in the list and so can not point to the next if(start_ptr == NULL){ // if list is currently empty, start_ptr will point to this node start_ptr = temp; } else { temp2 = start_ptr; // We know this is not NULL - list not empty! while (temp2->Next != NULL) { temp2 = temp2->Next; // Move to next link in chain until reach end of list } temp2->Next = temp; } ++locationCount; // increment counter for number of records in list if(!userInputReq){ cout << "Location sucessfully added to the database! • Issues with signal handling [closed]

    - by user34790
I am trying to actually study the signal handling behavior in multiprocess system. I have a system where there are three signal generating processes generating signals of type SIGUSR1 and SIGUSR1. I have two handler processes that handle a particular type of signal. I have another monitoring process that also receives the signals and then does its work. I have a certain issue. Whenever my signal handling processes generate a signal of a particular type, it is sent to the process group so it is received by the signal handling processes as well as the monitoring processes. Whenever the signal handlers of monitoring and signal handling processes are called, I have printed to indicate the signal handling. I was expecting a uniform series of calls for the signal handlers of the monitoring and handling processes. • xterm python subprocess

    - by Quacked Python
If using subprocess to execute an xterm on linux, which in turn executes some other process, it seems that Python (2.6.5) will never recognize that the process (xterm) has completed execution. Consider the following code: import subprocess import shlex import time proc = subprocess.Popen(shlex.split('xterm -iconic -title "FOO_BAR" -e sleep 5')) while True: if proc.poll(): print 'Process completed' time.sleep(0.1) This will loop infinitely until you terminate the Python interpreter. I'm guessing that this is probably caused by some oddity with xterm, and not a direct cause of the Python subprocess module, but maybe there are some other smart people out there that could shed some light on the situation. Note: Calling proc.communicate() will in fact return when the xterm completes, but for some reason the poll method will not work.

  • Improving ANTLR DSL parse-error messages

    - by Dan Fabulich
I'm working on a domain-specific language (DSL) for non-programmers. Non-programmers make a lot of grammar mistakes: they misspell keywords, they don't close parentheses, they don't terminate blocks, etc. I'm using ANTLR to generate my parser; it provides a nifty mechanism for handling RecognitionExceptions to improve error handling. But I'm finding it pretty hard to develop good error-handling code for my DSL. At this point, I'm considering ways to simplify the language to make it easier for me to provide users with high-quality error messages, but I'm not really sure how to go about this. I think I want to reduce the ambiguity of errors somehow, but I'm not sure how to implement that idea in a grammar. In what ways can I simplify my language to improve parse-error messages for my users? EDIT: Updated to clarify that I'm interested in ways to simplify my language, not just ANTLR error-handling tips in general. (Though, thanks for those!)

  • Python's Popen cleanup

    - by pythonic metaphor
I wanted to use a python equivalent to piping some shell commands in perl. Something like the python version of open(PIPE, "command |"). I go to the subprocess module and try this: p = subprocess.Popen("zgrep thingiwant largefile", shell=True, stdout=subprocess.PIPE) This works for reading the output the same way I would in perl, but it doesn't clean itself up. When I exit the interpreter, I get grep: writing output: Broken pipe spewed all over stderr a few million times. I guess I had naively hoped all this would be taken care of for me, but that's not true. Calling terminate or kill on p doesn't seem to help. Look at the process table, I see that this kills the /bin/sh process, but leaves the child gzip in place to complain about the broken pipe. What's the right way to do this?

  • SharePoint Workflow: how to update the item without triggering the workflow again

    - by Philipp Schmid
I have a SharePoint workflow which is running whenever the item changes. The workflow communicates with an external REST service. If the service returns a string, I want to update one of the field values with that string. Unfortunately, this update will trigger another instance of the workflow for this item once the current workflow terminates. I end up with an infinite loop! How I can prevent this from happening? SPListItem has Update(), UpdateOverwriteVersion(), and SystemUpdate() methods but none of them seem to prevent subsequent workflows from being triggered. I could inspect the last modified timestamp of the item and terminate the workflow if the last update happened within a certain timespan, but I am looking for a more robust solution.

  • are posix pipes lightweight?

    - by Nils Pipenbrinck
In a linux application I'm using pipes to pass information between threads. The idea behind using pipes is that I can wait for multiple pipes at once using poll(2). That works well in practice, and my threads are sleeping most of the time and only wake up if there is something to do for them. On the user-space the pipes look just like two file-handles. Now I wonder wonder how much resources such a pipes use on the OS side. Btw: In my application I only send single bytes every now and then. Think about my pipes as simple message queues that allow me to wake-up receiving threads, tell them to send some status-data or to terminate.

  • Python-daemon doesn't kill its kids

    - by Brian M. Hunt
When using python-daemon, I'm creating subprocesses likeso: import multiprocessing class Worker(multiprocessing.Process): def __init__(self, queue): self.queue = queue # we wait for things from this in Worker.run() ... q = multiprocessing.Queue() with daemon.DaemonContext(): for i in xrange(3): Worker(q) while True: # let the Workers do their thing q.put(_something_we_wait_for()) When I kill the parent daemonic process (i.e. not a Worker) with a Ctrl-C or SIGTERM, etc., the children don't die. How does one kill the kids? My first thought is to use atexit to kill all the workers, likeso: with daemon.DaemonContext(): workers = list() for i in xrange(3): workers.append(Worker(q)) @atexit.register def kill_the_children(): for w in workers: w.terminate() while True: # let the Workers do their thing q.put(_something_we_wait_for()) However, the children of daemons are tricky things to handle, and I'd be obliged for thoughts and input on how this ought to be done. Thank you.

Why I try to run the following OpenCV program, it shows the following error : ERROR: test_1.exe - Application Error The application failed to initialize properly (0x80000003). Click on OK to terminate the application. CODE: #include "cv.h" #include "highgui.h" int main() { IplImage *img = cvLoadImage("C:\\face.bmp"); cvSetImageROI(img, cvRect(100,100, 100, 100)); cvAddS(img, cvScalar(50), img); cvResetImageROI(img); cvShowImage("Test", img); cvWaitKey(0); return 0; } When i press F5(im using vs2008express), the program encounters a break point...i have attached a picture...dont know, whether, it will help or not. Error Snapshot Link It is not that, only this program is producing this error, but also any kind of image manipulation funciton containing (OpenCV)program is resulting in this sitution. Such as : cvSmooth one last thing, it there any dedicated OpenCV forum or sth like that?

  • Windows Workflow Foundation 4 (WF4) Delay

    - by Russ Clark
I'm working with the the Release Candidate of Visual Studio 2010 using Wf4 to write a new workflow for approving resource requests. In my workflow, I would like for a request to expire after a few days if no approval has been made for the request. We did this in WF 3.5 (Visual Studio 2008) by adding a Delay timer into an EventDrivenActivity parallel to the EventDrivenActivity that was awaiting an approver to come and approve the request. If the Delay expired before an approval was made, the EventDrivenActivity would terminate the request. Does anyone know if there is a similar mechanism for doing this in WF4?

  • Memory leak in WPF app due to DelegateCommand.

    - by Abdullah BaMusa
I just finished desktop apps written in WPF and c# using MVVM pattern. In this app I used Delegate Command implementation to wrap the ICommands properties exposed in my ModelView. The problem is these DelegateCommands prevent my ModelView and View from being garbage collected after closing the view. So it stays larking until I terminate the whole application. I profile the application I find it’s all about delegatecommand that keeping the modelview in memory. How could I avoid this situation and is this in nature of mvvm pattern, or it’s about my implantation of the pattern?. Thanks

  • Database Design for multiple users site

    - by jl
Hi, I am required to work on a php project that requires the database to cater to multiple users. Generally, the idea is similar to what they have for carbonmade or basecamp, or even wordpress mu. They cater to multiple users, whom are also owners of their accounts. And if they were to cancel/terminate their account, anything on the pages/database would be removed. I am not quite sure how should I design the database? Should it be: separate tables for individual user account separate databases for individual user account or otherwise? Kindly advise me for the best approach to this issue. Thank you very much.

  • How to resume repo sync

    - by webgenius
Can anyone please mention how to resume the sync command? I followed the following steps: $ repo init -u git://git.omapzoom.org/platform/omapmanifest.git -b eclair $ repo sync The sync took more than 6 hours and I had to terminate the sync myself due to shortgae of bandwidth. Is there any way I can resume the sync from the previous session? I can see that the following folders are created: bionic.git bootable build.git cts.git and many more.... I have access to free bandwidth only for 6 hours in a day, and I have to do the sync within this time. Any help is really appreciated.

  • Websphere MQ using JMS, closed connections stuck on the MQ

    - by Ahmad
    I have a simple JMS application deployed on OC4J under AIX server, in my application I'm listening to some queues and sending to other queues on a Websphere MQ deployed under AS400 server. The problem is that my connections to these queues are terminated/closed when it stays idle for some time with the error MQJMS1016 (this is not the problem), and when that happens I attempt to recover the connection and it works, however, the old connection is stuck at the MQ and would not terminate until it is terminated manually. The recovery code goes as follows: public void recover() { cleanup(); init(); } public void cleanup(){ if (session != null) { try { session .close(); } catch (JMSException e) { } } if (connection != null) { try { connection.close(); } catch (JMSException e) { } } } public void init(){ // typical initialization of the connection, session and queue... }
