    I wonder how to save the UIImage object from UIImagePickerController into the App Document directory. I tried to use UIImageJPEGRepresentation() method and UIImagePNGRepresentation(), but it seemed the image data was changed. Is there any method to keep the original image content without any compression?

  • TabBarController NavigationController with black backgroundbar

    hello I've placed this code my didload method, to get a black Navigationbar. rootTabBarController.navigationController.navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackOpaque; rootTabBarController.moreNavigationController.navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackOpaque; its working fine, but when the user rearranges the Icons in the editmode, i'm getting a default blue navigation bar. Can anyone help me to avid this ? btw: big thanks to the genius crowd!

  • Test iPhone in-app purchases on a different bundle?

    We have a group of beta testers for iPhone app. Recently, we added in-app purchases to the app. Before this, we would send out ad hoc builds to beta testers using a separate bundle ID and name so that they could have the store build and the ad hoc build on their phones. However, it seems like we have to build the ad hoc copy with the same Bundle ID to test in-app purchases, and this means we can't send out a seperate beta copy - our beta file (annoyingly) overwrites the user's store-bought app. Is there any way to test in-app purchases in a different bundle ID? Do I need to set up fake, test in-app purchases for the test build too?

  • Dragging Files on the Dock Icon

    I know how handle dragging of files on the dock icon, and it has been asked before. However, I'm wondering, can I somehow get more control? For example, can I make the dock icon reject files that are not in the user's folder and allow only files that are in the user's folder? I'd rather do that instead of the app appearing as if it handles files outside the user's folder, and then within the app delegate afterwards reject the files by detecting the file paths. That doesn't seem good from a user's perspective.

    Hi, I'm writing a POS application for the iPhone/iPod combination, using the same exact hardware used in Apple Stores:: EasyPay. Ok, my hurdle is this: how do I identify which credit card type is being used as text is entered in the uitextfield? I assume I've to use textField:shouldChangeCharactersInRange:replacementString:? However, I've got ideas floating around, but I simple cannot put them together to form code :/ Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advanced :D

  • Loading...Please wait for UIWebView - iPhone

    Hi guys, In Safari and other browsers, there is a bar that would indicate the percentage of the loading progress, and I, myself, trying to implement something similiar on iPhone, when loading some content in UIWebView, I would like the app to indicate the percentage of the page being loaded. I tried some google search and realize we could use NSURLConnection to read only the header and get the Content-Length ( but don't know how to, I read the Apple's NSURLConnection docs but probably I missed something ... ). And the size ( kb ) which UIWebView had loaded, seem like UIWebView don't support it for the public API... I hope this would be complete in some other ways than I thought, so if you have any ideas, please throw it out, thanks for your patient reading. P.S : I could just show an Activities Indicator for users with the long loading progress actions of the UIWebView but I just want to go further with the loading percentage bar :). Regards.

  • Cyclic Reference - protocols and subclasses

    I'm getting some cyclic reference (I think) problems between a few classes that require imported headers due to either subclassing or protocol definitions. I can explain why things are set up this way but I'm not sure it's essential. Basically these classes are managing reciprocal to-many data relationships. The layout is this: Class A imports Class B because it's a delegate of Class B and needs its protocol definition. Class B imports Class C because it's a subclass of Class C. Class C imports Class A because it's a delegate of Class A and needs its protocol definition. Here's some sample code that illustrates the problem. The errors I'm getting are as follows: In Class A - "Can't find protocol definition for Class_B_Delegate". In Class B - "Can't find interface declaration for Class C - superclass of Class B." In Class C - "Can't find protocol definition for Class_A_Delegate". If I'm correct I think we can do it with FMDatabase by wrapping it between [db beginTransaction] and [db commit]. I wonder if we can do the same thing by using EGODatabase.   • How do I change the title of the "back" button on a Navigation Bar

    Currently the left bar button default value is the title of the view that loaded the current one, in other words the view to be shown when the button is pressed (back button). I want to change the text shown on the button to something else. I tried putting the following line of code in the view controller's viewDidLoad method but it doesn't seem to work. self.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem.title = @"Log Out"; What should I do?   • Multiple on-screen view controllers in iPhone apps

    I'm creating a lot of custom views and controllers in a lot of my apps and so far I've mostly set them up programmatically, with adjustments and instantiations being controlled from plists. However, now I'm transitioning to using Interface Builder as much as possible (wish I had done that before, was always on my back-list). Apple is recommending against having many view controllers being simultaneously active in iPhone apps, with a couple of well-known exceptions. I've never fully understood why it should be bad to have different parts of the interface belong to different controllers, if they have no interdependent functionality at all. Does having multiple controllers risk messing up the responder chain, or is there some other reason that it's not recommended, except for the fact that it's usually not needed? What I want to be able to do is design reusable views and controls in IB, but since a nib is not associated with a view, but with a view controller, it seems I'd have to have different parts of the screen be connected to different controllers. I know it's possible to have other objects than view controllers being instantiated from nibs. Should I look into how to create my own alternative more light-weight controllers (that could be sub-controllers of a UIViewController) which could be instantiated from nibs?

[self setStatusValue: currentValue]; or should I use the property again and use [self setStatusValue: [self currentValue]]; I suppose the latter (although maybe overkill) does tell the reader that we are using one of the objects instance variables and not some local variable. just curious really ... gary

    Hi, so I have a class that I decleare as a singleton and in that class I have a NSMutableArray that contains some NSDictionaries with some key/value pairs in them. The trouble is it doesn't work and I dont't know why... I mean it crashes with EXC_BAD_ACCESS but i don't know where.     Hi.... I've an iPad app that supports all orientation... my problem was on the start up of the application. In case of landScapeRight and landScapeLeft and portrait(top home button) the views shows correctly but when the app start in portrait (bottom home button) the views show in landscape mode... I've implemented the - (void) willRotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)toInterfaceOrientation duration:(NSTimeInterval)duration - (BOOL)shouldAutorotateToInterfaceOrientation:(UIInterfaceOrientation)interfaceOrientation When I change the apps orientation the views shows correctly.

But i can see only black background in my viewcontroller view in iphone device. Also if i remove "self" from the appdelegate.m code of cameracontroller it also showing blank. How can i get camera in my view controller? I'm pretty much struggling with it. Thanks in Adv.
