• Jquery How to use history plugin?

  In my web application I am using ajax and now I'd like the back and forward browser buttons to work.   I'm using JQuery mobile frame work. I'm having a server which host a website. The user can connect to website through mobile browser and download files(.doc, .xls, .pdf etc) from that website. I need to open the file which is saved in the user's mobile programmatically using java script. I tried to open using location.href="file://sdcard/download/test.doc". But it didn't work. It showed permission denied. Is there any way to this? Please help. Thanks in advance.

• Finding data file location while using Microsoft Test Framework

  I have been using NUnit and now I am switching to the Microsoft Unit Test frame work. In my test project I have a folder called TestData and I kept all my test input data files there. I want to use that files for my unit testing. In my test code, I am using Application name space and assembly name space but I can not get to the data folder directly until unless I write a code to find and replace some string to point to the data folder. I am sure someone might have run into the same problem, is the solution to change the path through program or is there a API call which will let us get to executing assembly folders? Thanks,

• Programmatic binding of accelerators in wxPython

  I am trying to programmatically create and bind a table of accelerators in wxPython in a loop so that I don't need to worry about getting and assigning new IDs to each accelerators (and with a view to inhaling the handler list from some external resource, rather than hard-coding them). I also pass in some arguments to the handler via a lambda since a lot of my handlers will be the same but with different parameters (move, zoom, etc). • How do I specify a dynamic position for the start of substring?

  As in the example, I am trying to substring the Video_full column in a data.frame (video_data_2) I am working on. I want to keep all the characters after the period. The period is always present, there is only one period and it is in a different position in each value for the column. Date Video_full Instances 1 Apr 1, 2010 installs/AA.intro_video_1 546 2 Apr 1, 2010 installs/ABAC.intro_video_2 548 I got substring to work; video_data_2$Video_full <- substring(video_data_2$Video_full,11) And strsplit also; strsplit("installs/AA.intro_video_1 ",'[.]') I'm just not able to figure out how to start the substring in a dynamic position or only keep the second value returned by strsplit. • Help with memory leak (malloc)

  I'v followed a tutorial to use OGL tesselaton. • MKPinAnnotationView - hard to drag

  I have a MKPinAnnotationView that the user can drag around the map. It is very difficult for a user to drag the pin. I've tried increasing the frame size and also using a giant custom image. But nothing seems to actually change the hit area for the drag to be larger than default. Consequently, I have to attempt to tap/drag about ten times before anything happens. • Render Silverlight Animation to video file

  Hi guys I need to be able to render a silverlight storyboard animation to video. The animated content itself could be simple UIElements, Images or even two or more videos playing at the same time. Several ideas came to mind like RenderTargetBitmap on a single frame basis, but: 1) I've never tested this against video embedded content 2) Don't know how to actually compose the video from the generated images. Expression Encoder was also on my mind, but I don't know if it's possible to integrate it in a Silverlight/XBAP app to fulfill what's expected from it. What's your opinion on this?

  I'm trying to resize a UIButton in my iPhone app. I have a UIButton synthesized and when I call the following code, it moves on the screen, but the width & height of the button never change. button.frame.size = CGRectMake(104, 68, 158, 70); For example, when I change the height (70) to 40, the height of the button does not change. If I change the x or y, however, it will move on the screen. Any ideas?

• Writing a script for reading many .csv files with similar filenames

  I have several .csv files with similar filenames except a numeric month (i.e. 03_data.csv, 04_data.csv, 05_data.csv, etc.) that I'd like to read into R. I have two questions: Is there a function in R similar to MATLAB's varname and assignin that will let me create/declare a variable name within a function or loop that will allow me to read the respective .csv file - i.e. 03_data.csv into 03_data data.frame, etc.? I want to write a quick loop to do this because the filenames are similar. As an alternative, is it better to create one dataframe with the first file and then append the rest using a for loop? How would I do that?

  I want to know if there is any benefiting caching a sprite sheet and accessing the sprite by frame without using the CCSpriteBatchNode? In some parts of my game the sprite batch node is useful because there is a lot on the screen, however on another part its not, because there are just a few things, and there are requirements for layers so CCSpriteBatchNode wouldn't be useful. However, for the sake of consistency I would like to use Sprite Sheets for all my sprites, and so was beginning to wonder if I would still receive any benefit from it? (Or worse that it could some how be slower...)

• Problems to make programming more interesting for school students [closed]

  I have to teach Java programming to school students and all are around the age of 15. None of them had any previous experience in programming. That is, I have to start from the very basics. I do like to make the sessions more interesting, and to make them love programming. I do need simple problems or puzzles -- not complex ones, simple ones -- that can increase their curiosity, and made them think and love programming. I do like to have problems for all of the concepts (like branching, looping, encapsulation, inheritance, composition, etc.,). Notes: I do have a time-frame of 1 hour for each session. Computers are not available. Maybe I can bring my laptop and show a demo to them. There are 7 students in the class.

• Zoom controls not showing when using a MapView with fill_parent

  Hey everyone I am working on an applications and I am using the built in zoom controls. When using a specific size I can see the zoom controls. When using fill_parent the zoom controls are not visible. How it is setup is a mapview inside of a frame layout(also using fill parent for the height and width but with an offset down the screen. The only thing I can think of is the fill parent issue is with the framelayout and the zoom controls are off the screen. Sorry if this is confusing, I confused myself writing it. Thanks in advance

• Iframe contents not accessible from a page in different domain

I am able to get the event notification whenever Google Finance page loads. Now problem is this that contents of this page is not accessible through javascript. It seems to be some security issue (firebug notified). Is there any workaround so that I can access values (result and select boxes) using javascript?   Hopefully this isn't considered too off-topic, but I guess we'll see. I'd love to find and frame a copy of this book. Years ago, in my pre-teen years, I remember reading a lot of CYOA books, and one in particular stands out in my mind as the book that started me down the path of becoming a programmer. The details are fuzzy, but what I remember was that the story involved a programmer who was held captive somewhere and was trying to escape. IIRC, each section or chapter had a short BASIC program you could could type into your computer to simulate something from the story. The one that stands out most in my mind was a very simplistic animation made with pipes, pluses, and dashes that "looked" like a metal grate that opened (sliding upward). I realize this is pretty scant information to go on, but I suspect that anyone else who read the book would immediately remember it. Maybe not, I guess we'll see. Again, my apologies if this is too far off-topic for S.O.

I tries using cvCaptureFromFile and cvCaptureFromAVI instead of cvCreateFileCapture In both cases cvRetrieveFrame method crashes. Any ideas? Thanks

  I have a simple dataframe with two columns: df <- data.frame(x = c(1,1,2,2,3), y = c(rep(1:2,2),1), target = c('a','a','a','b','a')) I would like to compare the strings in the target column (find out whether they are equal or not, i.e., TRUE or FALSE) within every level of x (same number for x). First I would like to compare lines 1 and 2, then 3 and 4 ... My problem is that I am missing some comparisons, for example, line 5 has only one case instead of two - so it should turn out to be FALSE. Variable y indicates the first and second case within x. I played around with ddply doing something like: ddply(df, .(x), summarise, ifelse(as.character(df[df$y == '1',]$target), as.character(df[df$y == '2',]$target),0,1)) which is ugly ... and does not work ... Any insights how I could achieve this comparison? Thanks

  I have several years of data (only for business days (no weekends or holidays)) in an [r] data frame and would like to find the difference between the data on the 2nd and 5th business day of each month. So the solution needs to go thru the list, determine the 2nd and 5th business day, get the data for the corresponding dates and then find the difference. the data looks like: 1/19/1990 1.22 1/20/1990 1.25 1/23/1990 1.26 (Gap in date is weekend) ... 2/1/1990 1.34 2/2/1990 1.36 2/5/1990 1.22 (Gap in date is weekend) I have tried using dateTime() but it doesn't handicap for weekends and holidays. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

But how do I call it from another NSViewController. I end up with compilation error.

• How do I create a timed ban on an account? (PHP/mysql)

  I want to create a function that allows me to ban an account for 10days. In the dbc, I have a field called "ban" and Boolean of 1=notban, 0=ban. I also have a field called "date_banned" which is just the timestamp of when the user got banned. My question is how do I create a time frame of 10days from the date the user was banned? ex: James was banned on "2010-05-03 20:43:48". So how can I go about adding 10days to the timestamp? And after 10days, it would set the "ban" equal to 1(which is not banned).

• Slow loop in R, any suggestion to speed it up?

  I have a data frame "m" as shown below: I am trying to find each account's most active month (with most number of V1). for example for account "2", it will be "month 6", for account 3 it will be "month 1", .... I wrote the below loop, it works fine but just takes a long time even I only used 8000 rows, the whole data set has 250,000 rows, so the code below is not usable. It opens a help page in a new window/tab via <a href="..." target="help"> (no other frame has this name) This works well the first time opening a new window/tab, for the help. But on subsequent clicks the window/tab is loaded but remains hidden.
