  • Question about XML deserialization in .net

    Hi, I'm trying to deserialize an XML that comes from a web service but I do not know how to tell the serializer how to handlke this piece of xml: <Movimientos> <Movimientos> <NOM_ASOC>pI22E7P30KWB9KeUnI+JlMRBr7biS0JOJKo1JLJCy2ucI7n3MTFWkY5DhHyoPrWs</NOM_ASOC> <FEC1>RZq60KwjWAYPG269X4r9lRZrjbQo8eRqIOmE8qa5p/0=</FEC1> <IDENT_CLIE>IYbofEiD+wOCJ+ujYTUxgsWJTnGfVU+jcQyhzgQralM=</IDENT_CLIE> </Movimientos> <Movimientos> As you can see, the child tag uses the same tag as its parent, I suppose this is wrong however the webservice is provided by an external company and that wont change it, is there any way or any library to tidy up XML or how can I use an attribute on my class so that the serializer gets it right? thanks for any help.

Or do I really have to grab back to document.createElement? Note: I know that I can use just the same name for each input element and retrieve them as an array, but the above is just a basic example, in real I really need to have the name attribute changed, because it not only contains the index, but also other information such as parentindex, ordering, etc. It's been used to add/rearrange/remove (sub)menu items. Edit: this is related to this bug, The jQuery (I'm using 1.3.2) does thus not seem to create inputs that way?   • rails override default getter for a relationship (belongs_to)

    So I know how to override the default getters for attributes of an ActiveRecord object using def custom_getter return self[:custom_getter] || some_default_value end I'm trying to achieve the same thing however for a belongs to association. For instance. class Foo < AR belongs_to :bar def bar return self[:bar] || Bar.last end end class Bar < AR has_one :foo end When I say: f = Foo.last I'd like to have the method f.bar return the last Bar, rather than nil if that association doesn't exist yet. This doesn't work however. The reason is that self[:bar] is always undefined. It's actually self[:bar_id]. I can do something naive like: def bar if self[:bar_id] return Bar.find(self[:bar_id]) else return Bar.last end end However this will always make a db call, even if Bar has already been fetched, which is certainly not ideal. Does anyone have an insight as to how I might have a relationship such that the belongs_to attribute is only loaded once and has a default value if not set.

  • Start Activity with an animation

    I am trying to start an activity with a custom transition animation. The only way I have found out so far to do this (without using onPendingTransition() in the previous activity) is to use a custom theme on the activity and define either activityOpenEnterAnimation, taskOpenEnterAnimation, windowEnterAnimation or windowAnimationStyle to set the animation. But, none of these attributes are working for me. Some experimentation yielded the following results- If I set the windowAnimationStyle attribute to some custom style which defines values for activityOpenEnterAnimation, taskOpenEnterAnimation, windowEnterAnimation or windowAnimationStyle I can get rid of the default transition animation occurring at the start of the activity. It doesn't show the transition animation using the actual value specified but at least the default animation is not shown. According to the reference doc here, http://developer.android.com/reference/android/R.attr.html I should be able to define an animation at the start of the activity using activityOpenEnterAnimation. But no success so far. Any ideas?

attempting to store an EntityManager object into an EntityManagerFactory field, but I don't understand how or why. My DAO classes accept both an EntityManager and EntityManagerFactory via the @PersistenceContext attribute, and they work find if I load them up and run them without the @ContextConfiguration attribute (i.e. if I just use the XmlApplcationContext to load the DAO and the EntityManagerFactory directly in setUp ()).   • Modern way to handle and validate POST-data in MVC 2

    There are a lot of articles devoted to working with data in MVC, and nothing about MVC 2. So my question is: what is the proper way to handle POST-query and validate it. Assume we have 2 actions. Both of them operates over the same entity, but each action has its own separated set of object properties that should be bound in automatic manner. For example: Action "A" should bind only "Name" property of object, taken from POST-request Action "B" should bind only "Date" property of object, taken from POST-request As far as I understand - we cannot use Bind attribute in this case. So - what are the best practices in MVC2 to handle POST-data and probably validate it. UPD: After Actions performed - additional logic will be applied to the objects so they become valid and ready to store in persistent layer. For action "A" - it will be setting up Date to current date.

    Correct me if anything is wrong. Now when we use Spring DAO for ORM templates, when we use @Transactional attribute, we do not have control over the transaction and/or session when the method is called externally, not within the method. Lazy loading saves resources - less queries to the db, less memory to keep all the collections fetched in the app memory. So, if lazy=false, then everything is fetched, all associated collections, that is not effectively, if there are 10,000 records in a linked set. Now, I have a method in a DAO class that is supposed to return me a User object. It has collections that represent linked tables of the database. I need to get a object by id and then query its collections. Hibernate "failed to lazily initialize a collection" exception occurs when I try to access the linked collection that this DAO method returns. Explain please, what is a workaround here?

  • Optimizing a large iteration of PHP objects (EAV-based)

    I am currently working on a project that utilizes the EAV model. This turns out to work quite well, but like many others I am now stumbling upon some performance issues. The data set in this particular case consists of aproximately 2500 entities, each with aprox. 150 attributes. Each entity and each attribute is represented by a PHP-object. Since most parts of the application only iterate through a filtered set of entities, we have not had very large issues yet. Now, however, I am working on an algorithm that requires iteration over the entire dataset, which causes a major impact on performance. This information is perhaps not very much to work with, but since this is an architectural problem, I am hoping for a architectural pattern to help me on the way as well. Each entity, including it's attributes takes up aprox. 500KB of memory.

Does anybody found solution which does not require custom date converter. I was trying following but I gives me error saying...   • View print CSS in IE7 or IE8

    I'm debugging a site that has problems with element positioning when printing (I have a separate print.css file linked by a link element with the media="print" attribute). This problem only occurs in IE7 and IE8. What I'm looking for is a way to view the page using the print media type, but while still having IE8's developer tools available to view element details and edit in real-time, etc. The function I'm looking for would be similar to the "Display CSS by Media Type" feature in Chris Pederick's Web Developer Extension for Firefox. (But this problem doesn't occur in firefox...nor in safari, or even in IE6.)

  • Ajax.BeginForm is submitting disabled form elements

    Using MVC3 and Ajax.BeginForm I surprisingly discovered that mvc ajax forms submits elements with the attribute disabled="disabled". I have tested both select and text inputs. I was suprised because they should not be submited and they will not when using Html.BeginForm. Is there some hidden option or a workaround for this?   • JavaScript-like Object in Python standard library?

    Quite often, I find myself wanting a simple, "dump" object in Python which behaves like a JavaScript object (ie, its members can be accessed either with .member or with ['member']). Usually I'll just stick this at the top of the .py: class DumbObject(dict): def __getattr__(self, attr): return self[attr] def __stattr__(self, attr, value): self[attr] = value But that's kind of lame, and there is at least one bug with that implementation (although I can't remember what it is). So, is there something similar in the standard library?   • How can I set MAXLENGTH on input fields automatically?

    I'm using ASP.NET MVC RC2. I have a set of classes that were auto-generated "Linq-to-SQL Classes", where each class models a table in my database. I have some default "edit" views that use the neat-o Html.TextBoxFor helper extension to render HTML input fields for the columns in a table. However, I notice that there is no MAXLENGTH attribute specified in the generated HTML. A quick google shows that you can add explicit attributes using TextBoxFor etc. but that would mean that I need to hard-code the values (and I need to remember to do it for every input). This seems pretty poor, considering that everything was automatically generated directly from the DB, so the size of the columns is known. (Although, to be fair, the web-side stuff has to work with any model objects, not just with Linq-to-SQL objects). Is there any nice way of getting this to do the right thing?

    So my whole problem is that I have two files one with following format(for Python 2.6): #comments config = { #comments 'name': 'hello', 'see?': 'world':'ABC',CLASS=3 } This file has number of sections like this. Second file has format: [23] [config] 'name'='abc' 'see?'= [23] Now the requirement is that I need to compare both files and generate file as: #comments config = { #comments 'name': 'abc', 'see?': 'world':'ABC',CLASS=3 } So the result file will contain the values from the first file, unless the value for same attribute is there in second file, which will overwrite the value. Now my problem is how to manipulate these files using Python. Thanks in advance and for your previous answers in short time ,I need to use python 2.6

    I'm having problems with external native DLL. I'm working on ASP.NET 1.1 web application and have this DLL which I load through DLLImport directives.   • Visual Studio 2010 does not discover new unit tests

    I am writing some unit tests in Visual Studio 2010. I can run all tests by using "Run all Tests in Current Context". However, if I write a new unit test, it does not get picked up by the environment - in other words, I am not able to find it in Test List Editor, by running all tests, or anywhere else. If I unload the project and then reload it; the new test is available to run. When I am adding a unit test, I simply add a new method to an already existing TestClass and decorating it with [TestMethod] attribute - nothing fancy. What might be causing this behaviour, and how do I make it work ?

  • Help in XPath expression

    I have an XML document which contains nodes like following:- <a class="custom">test</a> <a class="xyz"></a> I was tryng to get the nodes for which class is NOT "Custom" and I wrote an expression like following:- XmlNodeList nodeList = document.SelectNodes("//*[self::A[@class!='custom'] or self::a[@class!='custom']]"); Now, I want to get IMG tags as well and I want to add the following experession as well to the above expression:- //*[self::IMG or self::img] ...so that I get all the IMG nodes as well and any tag other than having "custom" as value in the class attribute. Any help will be appreciated. EDIT :- I tried the following and this is an invalid syntax as this returns a boolean and not any nodelist:- XmlNodeList nodeList = document.SelectNodes("//*[self::A[@class!='custom'] or self::a[@class!='custom']] && [self::IMG or self::img]");

    I am throwing HTML to a webview to render. In the HTML I need to load an image that I have in /res/drawable. I have /res/drawable/my_image.png and code such as this: final WebView browser = (WebView) findViewById(R.id.my_webview); String html = new MyHelper(myObject).getHtml(); browser.loadDataWithBaseURL("", html, "text/html", "UTF-8", ""); Where the String html has something like: <html><head> <h1>Here is the image</h1> <img src="my_image.png" /> </head><html> The question is, what should that image src attribute be to refer to the image in /res/drawable ~Thanks

  • Hyphen encoding (minus) in Google Base RSS feed

    I am trying to create an automatic feed generation for data to be sent to Google Base using utf-8 encoding. However I am getting errors whenever hyphens are found telling me that there is an encoding error in the relevant attribute (title, description, product_type). I am currently using: &amp;minus; but I have also tried: &amp;#8722; neither of which have worked. I am using the following declaration at the top of the document: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> Any help appreciated and let me know if I need to give more information!

    Why can't I use super to get a method of a class's superclass? Example: Python 3.1.3 >>> class A(object): ... def my_method(self): pass >>> class B(A): ... def my_method(self): pass >>> super(B).my_method Traceback (most recent call last): File "<pyshell#2>", line 1, in <module> super(B).my_method AttributeError: 'super' object has no attribute 'my_method' (Of course this is a trivial case where I could just do A.my_method, but I needed this for a case of diamond-inheritance.) According to super's documentation, it seems like what I want should be possible.     I am using StyleCop in VS2008. I get this error: SA1638: The file attribute in the file header's copyright tag must contain the name of the file. Here is my header. // <copyright file="AssemblyInfo.cs" company="company"> // Copyright (c) company. All rights reserved. // </copyright> // <author>me</author> // <email>[email protected]</email> // <date>2010-03-04</date> // <summary>blah blah.</summary> I suspect the problem is that my AssemblyInfo.cs is located inside the Properties folder. Any clues to how I can fix this warning without silencing StyleCop?

  • Django comparing model instances for equality

    I understand that, with a singleton situation, you can perform such an operation as: spam == eggs and if spam and eggs are instances of the same class with all the same attribute values, it will return True. In a Django model, this is natural because two separate instances of a model won't ever be the same unless they have the same .pk value. The problem with this is that if a reference to an instance has attributes that have been updated by middleware somewhere along the way and it hasn't been saved, and you're trying to it to another variable holding a reference to an instance of the same model, it will return False of course because they have different values for some of the attributes. Obviously I don't need something like a singleton , but I'm wondering if there some official Djangonic (ha, a new word) method for checking this, or if I should simply check that the .pk value is the same with: spam.pk == eggs.pk I'm sorry if this was a huge waste of time, but it just seems like there might be a method for doing this, and something I'm missing that I'll regret down the road if I don't find it.
