• Mac OS X kernel panic after TM restore

  I changed my HD in my MacBook Pro, and restored from Time Machine backup. Now I keep getting kernel panic error everytime I restart. I booted from the DVD and ran a few tests, noticed that HD and RAM are being detected, also did a repair on the disk through disk utility, still getting same error. Any suggestions?

  Hi, We're running Server and Exchange 2003 here. There's a shared calendar which HR keep up-to-date detailing staff who are on leave. I'm looking for a VB Script (or alternate) which will extract the "appointment" titles of each item for the current day and then email the detail to a mail group, in doing so notifying the group with regard to which staff are on leave for the day. • Can I use REG_EXPAND_SZ for the locations of shell folders instead of REG_SZ

  I'm working on re-arranging a number of the shell folders in windows 7 to utilize Dropbox to keep a set of machines in sync. I'd like to create a .reg file which I can use to update the locations of these folders rather than manually changing them from the UI, but I don't want to rely on the path to the home folder being the same each time. So my question is, is it possible to replace the REG_SZ values in HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders with REG_EXPAND_SZ values specifying an offset from %HOME% instead of an exact path?

  I have one monitor and a projector connecting to my computer, while the screen keep flashing after every 10 seconds, it seems the resolution keeps changing. The project is the a dual display for the monitor. They displays the same content. My current resolution is 1024*768, while after 10 seconds around, the resolution goes to something big, then after a few seconds, it goes back to 1024*768. I wonder if this is a problem about the resolution, or it's about the compatible of screen display?

Will someone who looks up this CNAME record have the entire result cached for 1 hour, or will it will keep having to lookup the A record every 1 minute? I can't find the answer to this anywhere and don't really have the know-how to manually test it.

  I have a number of Linux webservers for which I'd like to track where disk space is going and keep disk space to a minimum. Typically I login on SSH and use du to find out where disk space is wasted but this is cumbersome and slow. A visualisation tool like KDirStat would be ideal, but it requires installing an X server at the very least, which kind of defeats the purpose. Is there any web-based disk space visualizer? I'm open to alternative solutions.

  I prefer the sound scheme of Windows 7 HP to be set to "No Sounds" ALL the time. The problem is, when I switch themes, the themes switch sound schemes also. I know I can go in and disable/change to "No Sounds" every time by hand, but is there a way to turn it off and keep it off, regardless of the theme? Thanks!   I'm using LTSP on a Ubuntu 10.04 64bit box with 8 thin clients. I would like to save power by automatically turning off the thin clients at night, but I would like to have the ability to resume the staff's session in the morning. Is it possible to keep a session running whilst turning off the LTSP thin client and resuming that session when you power up the thin client the next time? Could this work if you login to another thin client in the morning and resume your session?
