• How to automate the finding of an M value along a route

  Kirk Kuykendall had given a script example a few years back in an ESRI forum http://forums.esri.com/Thread.asp?c=93&f=996&t=88246&mc=4 as to how to find the M (measure) value of a point in a shapefile along a route when you clicked on the point. This is very handy, BUT..I have 1500 points that I need M values for. Is there a way to automate this type of thing? I need the M values for the points to create linear events on the route. Note: I am not a programmer, but have people who can help me out.

• In App Purchase no valid Product IDs

  I'm trying to get In App Purchase with my existing iPad App working. I'm stuck retrieving the Product Information from App Store: - (void)productsRequest:(SKProductsRequest *)request didReceiveResponse:(SKProductsResponse *)response The SKProductsResponse only contains invalid Product IDs. I tried every potential solution I found here or on the net: my App ID has In App enabled I generated a new provisioning profile and installed it on my device I restarted the device my App ID is the same as in my Info.plist (it's in the Store since weeks) I added In App Purchases for the App with "cleared for sale" checked I added Screenshots to my In App Purchases I tried different naming schemes for the Product ID I made triple checked that I pass the correct Product ID to the SKProductsRequest I'm passing a NSSet to the SKProductsRequest instead of a MutableSet I updated my App with the upcoming version containing in App purchase and submitted it for Review I approved one of my In App Purchases, just to see if that helps I waited more than 24 hours All of these actions brought me nothing but invalid Product IDs. I hope someone can point me into the right direction, because I'm running out of ideas.

• I would like to useJava 7's FileVisitor to walk up a tree

  I have looked and searched for some guidance on how to start at a low point in a path and walk up (or 'back'), until I find a folder with the name I am searching for. The FileVisitor class looks like it ought to be able to help me, but it only seems to work from head to toe. Is there something that someone could point me to? • Better product to develop for, iPad or Android based tablet in a purely business related application

  Hey guys Just wondering what you'd suggest as the best platform for developing a business application for a tablet device. The application needs to be multitouch, have access to a maps API, a database on the device. It will not be going on sale in the app store or Androids market, it is purely for specific business task and not for the general consumer. Obviously the options seem to be iPhone OS and the iPad or Android and an Android tablet device. The form factor for the end product requires something in the region of 8 inch+ screen and enough processing power to provide a good experience for the end user. Any help would be much appreciated. • Twitter's Bootstrap 2.x popover callback can't focus on element

  I've modified bootstrap's popover function to include a callback which works great. But in the callback I cannot programmatically focus on the first form field. Strange, because I can manipulate other elements in the callback function as well as focus on the element at other points. • reversing keys/values - create new instance of HashMap

  I’ve got an existing instance of HashMap simply called sale (it is Map) I use it to log customers and items history. Is there a way to create a new instance of HashMap, that effectively reverses this usage? i.e will show each item purchased as a unique key and the corresponding value as a String set of the customers that have purchased that product. I suspect there is a simple process using keySet() in some way to iterate over the sales map but I just can’t see how to do this. Any help would be much appreciated.

• Nokogiri Truncating XML Input

  I am having issues with a colleagues machine truncating XML while using Nokogiri to parse a Media RSS feed. The feed is a standard Media RSS feed, and the XML is not malformed. It looks like it simply stops at a certain point in the XML and closes any tags that would have been open at that current point in the document. (Unfortunately I do not have the XML avialable to me right now, but I will update this question with the actual XML when I have it available to me). My confusion comes from it working fine on my machine (OSX 10.6, Nokogiri 1.4.4) while it in correctly on his machine using the same setup - however his machine is a few years older. I imagine that there is a difference somewhere but unfortunately I don't know what to look for. Any thoughts or direction would be greatly appreciated.

• Issuing native system commands in Scala

  I want to issue a native system command from a Scala program, and perhaps trap the output. ("ls" comes to mind. There may be other ways to get directory information without issuing the command, but that's beside the point of my question.) It would correspond to os.system(...) in Python. I've looked in "Programming in Scala". I've looked in O'Reilly's "Programming Scala". I've Googled several combinations of terms. No luck yet. Can someone out there give me an example, or point me at a resource where I can find an example?

• Microsoft Access to SQL Server - synchronization

  I have a client that uses a point-of-sale solution involving an Access database for its back-end storage. I am trying to provide this client with a service that involves, for SLA reasons, the need to copy parts of this Access database into tables in my own database server which runs SQL Server 2008. I need to do this on a periodic basis, probably about 5 times a day. I do have VPN connectivity to the client. Is there an easy programmatic way to do this, or an available tool? I don't want to handcraft what I assume is a relatively common task.

• 2 sites each in a different country with 1 set of content (cloaking)

  Hi, I have a question re: cloaking. I have a friend who has a business in Canada and the UK. Currently the .ca site is hosted on Godaddy. The co.uk domain is registered (with uk ip address) with domainmonster and is using a cloaked/framed redirect to the .ca site. As a result (my assumption) the .ca site is indexed fine by google, the .co.uk is not. The content is generic for both sites. How do I point the .co.uk site directly to the content independently (preferably without duplicating the content hosting in the UK), so that for instance if the .ca domain was taken away altogether the .co.uk domain would remain an entity in itself from Google's point of view? Does Google index a generic set of content and then associate different country domains with that content? I hope I have explained this ok. Thanks, Greg

• How can I rotate an image using Java/Swing and then set its origin to 0,0?

  I'm able to rotate an image that has been added to a JLabel. The only problem is that if the height and width are not equal, the rotated image will no longer appear at the JLabel's origin (0,0). Here's what I'm doing. I've also tried using AffineTransform and rotating the image itself, but with the same results. Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D)g; g2d.rotate(Math.toRadians(90), image.getWidth()/2, image.getHeight()/2); super.paintComponent(g2d); If I have an image whose width is greater than its height, rotating that image using this method and then painting it will result in the image being painted vertically above the point 0,0, and horizontally to the right of the point 0,0.

  Matrix transformations has got my head spinning. I've got a dojox.gfx.group which I want to be draggable with Mover and then be able to rotate it around a certain point on the surface. My basic code looks like this: this.m = dojox.gfx.matrix, . . . updateMatrix: function(){ var mtx = this.group._getRealMatrix(); var trans_m = this.m.translate(mtx.dx, mtx.dy); this.group.setTransform([this.m.rotateAt(this.rotation, 0, 0), trans_m]); } The rotation point is at (0,0) just to keep things simple. I don't seem to understand how the group is being rotated. Any reference to simplistic tutorial on matrix transformations would also help. The ones I've checked out haven't help too much.

  I have Decimal field in SQLserver 2005 table, Price decimal(18, 4) if I write 12 it will be converted to 12.0000, if I write 12.33 it will be converted into 12.3300. Always it's putting zero to the right of the decimal point in the count of Scale Part(4). I was using these in SQL Server 2000, it was not behaving like this, in SQL Server 2000 if I put 12.5 it will be stored as 12.5 not as 12.5000 what SQLServer2005 do. My Question is how to stop SQL Server 2005 from putting zeros to the right of the decimal point?

  I have 2 layers. A lines layer and a points layer. For any given line, how can I find the points that intersect the envelope of the line, but not the line itself, or more specifically, not the to point or from point of the line. I can obviously find all the points that intersect the line's envelope, and then do 1 by 1 tests on the found points to see if they intersect the to or from points of the line, but I was hoping there is an easier, faster way to do something of this nature.

  I am writing a custom mvc control (commercial), and all of the control's code lives in the custom htmlhelper code that i will have to distribute to the user. I am ok with this for my commercial license sale, but for evaluating the controls, if i give out the htmlhelper code locally for my potential customers to evaluate, the user can simply "get" all the code and hence he may never buy it since he's got teh control code. How do i protect my htmlhelper code while somebody is evaluation my cusotm mvc controls? Is this a general problem or (I wish) i am missing something here? Thanks.

• How would you create a string of all UTF-8 characters? [PHP]

  There are many ways to represent the +1 million UTF-8 characters. Take the latin capital "A" with macron (A). This is unicode code point U+0100, hex number 0xc4 0x80, decimal number 196 128, and binary 11000100 10000000. I would like to create a collection of the first 65,535 UTF-8 characters for use in testing applications. These are all unicode characters up to code point U+FFFF (byte3). Is it possible to do something like a for($x=0) loop and then convert the resulting decimal to another base (like hex) which would allow the creation of the matching unicode character? I can create the value A using something like this: $char = "\xc4\x80"; // or $char = chr(196).chr(128); However, I am not sure how to turn this into an automated process. // fail! $char = "\x". dechex($a).   Hi How to design a business object? I have a library which returns me an Object which have ten lists of other different objects. I need to store it into database all. List of objects are often like: class Item { private int id; private String name; private double point; } But the name is often the same. Like basic title of the product or code. Containing from 3 characters up to 70characters. Should I make conversion for every Object to: (or something similar) class ConvertedItem { private int id; private int code; private double point; } And have a separated table of codes ( I guess around 60). Or do not bother with duplicated stuff? It's not mission critical app. What would you do in my case? thanks in advance

Now is mydesign.com available for sale by some domain broker sales bastards. And those bastards don't accept a first bid lower than 1000$ which is a about ten times of the budget I'm willing to pay. So far so good, it's a sick business model but it's there. Now lets imagine that mydesign.nl is a huge success in the Netherlands and I'm makin tons of profits out of advertisements and other things I'm not yet aware of (I know entering the lotery gives a better chance of earning money, but lets just imagine). Is there a way (licence, legal or otherwise) to prevent the sick owners of mydesign.com to download and steal my javascript app and deploy it on their own site and take the profits of my app?

I want to rewrite this in C++ and hopefully learn some stuff (I am doing a unit on C++ atm, so it'll help) on the way. What's the easiest way to approach this? I have looked at Direct X, and have so far followed a bunch of tutorials and have drawn some rudimentary triangles. However I can't find a simple (draw point).

• Algorithm to emulate mouse movement as a human does?

  Hello I need to test a software that treats some mouse movements as "gestures". For such a task I need to emulate mouse movement from point A to point B, not in straight line, but as a real mouse moves - with curves, a bit of jaggedyness etc. Is there any available solution (algorithm/code itself, not a library/exe) that I can use? Of course I can write some simple sinusoidal math by myself, but this would be a very crude emulation of a human hand leading a mouse. Perhaps such a task has been solved already numerous times, and I can just borrow an existing code? :)

All records are placed as 1 row inside the csv file, how can i fix that ? • Android: Width and Height of View After Orientation Change

  I need to get the width and height of a WebView and pass them in the query string of the URL I am loading in the WebView. I have found a way to do this in onResume(). Since the width and height are not calculated at this point, I post a Runnable to the WebView to be queued for after the UI loads. Here's my problem: when the orientation changes, I am handling it in onConfigurationChanged. When I try to post a Runnable in onConfigurationChanged to the WebView, the WebView's width and height end up being the old orientation's width and height. At what point can I intercept the new width and height after orientation change?
