    How can I detect whether the android device has gyroscope? Currently I'm using the following method to detect whether gyroscope is available. If gyroscope not available, then use accelerometer.     I can detect single/double-taps in specific views with: NSSet *myTouches = [event touchesForView:mySpecificView.view]; but I want to detect a double-tap on the button of a slider and can't find any reference to it. Is there a replacement for "touchesForView:" where I can enter the name of my slider? usage: I have three sliders with their default value being directly in the center of the slider. Once the position of the slider has changed, I want a quick way to individually reset each slider to its default position. I currently have each slider's containing view set to respond to a double-tap, updating each slider. It works fine, but doesn't seem natural. ie.I can't double-tap on the slider itself because the slider intercepts the taps and doesn't pass them on to the surrounding view. thanks in advance

    Hi I have a video playing on my page. I want to show and hide some div's when the video reaches a certain point. Lets say hide something on 10th second and show it again on 20th second. I can easily do it in HTML5 with video tag and currentTime attribute but for IE I have to create the same functionality and I think with flash based videos (from YouTube or something like that). Is there a way to detect the current time of a video playing on my website, embeded from YouTube, Metacafe or any other video sharing site? I know I could detect it in flash and make it run some JavaScript function but I don't have flash nor have the skills to do it in AS3. Is it possible to do it from JavaScript level or does any video sharing website out there provides this kind of functionality for their videos?

    I'm implementing an installer in Java, that is supposed to download and install an application for non-privileged users in Windows (from XP and up). The application is written in C++, and depend on the usual VC runtime-libraries (msvcm90.dll and friends). In order to save bandwidth, I want to avoid downloading the VC redistributables if they already are available for the user. I do however have a problem finding a reliable method to detect if an assembly is installed. If the assembly is missing, I will deploy it as described here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms235291%28VS.80%29.aspx So the question is simply how to detect if a (any) assembly is installed on the machine. It's no requirement that this can be done from Java. I can easily write a small probe in C++ and link it statically for the task. jgaa

The approach I am considering is for each string look at all other strings and find the common characters and where differing characters are, trying to find sets of strings that have the most in common, but I fear that this is not very efficient and may give false positives. Note that this is not the same as 'How do I detect groups of common strings in filenames' because that assumes that a string will always have a series of digits following it.   • Unity, changing gravity game & stopping character when he hit a wall.

    i am currently working on a 2d puzzle game in the unity engine. One of the aspect of this game is the possibility to rotate the level of 90°. It also rotate the gravity. The main character is not directly controlled by the player, but instead fall when the level is rotated. When the main character hit a wall, he should stop to move. If i do not stop it, it kind of blink ans shake against the wall. To stop it i detect collision and depending on the current rotation state, the player will stop at "vertical" or "horizontal" tags when a OnCollisonEnter occurs. I must do that because when the player fall on his relative ground, He must not stop like if he had touch a wall. My problem is the 'side' of platform, or the 'top' of wall, they use the same tag and thus do not give the correct tag to my character. I tried to put a very small invisible box on top/side of elements but the collision occurs nevertheless. It seems when the player falls and hit something he go through a bit before being replaced at correct position by unity. Is there a way : 1 ) to doesn't stop my character but to make it appear immobile on screen 2 ) To detect a "i cannot move anymore" collision other than by using collision?

Then the line e.Cancel = true is executed and the form is not closed. Now the thing is, after this if i close the application from task manager the close reason is UserClosing !!! Why? Shouldn't it be TaskManagerClosing?

However, I can't seem to retrieve the path on my system of an inserted usb. Is there someway that I can get the path of an inserted usb in dbus, perhaps by using the GetProperty() method? I have tried using GetProperty("block.device"), but that returns /dev/sdc1 which doesn't exist on my system. Thanks in advance for any help!

I need to format each one to ensure they are clean, I need the unique string from each device. I need to put the same txt file on each one.     I have a modem device called Huawei ETS2051 and the Network Connection Manger can't detect it, but when I use Gnome-PPP it work fine but the problem is when I use Gnome-PPP; apps like Ubuntu software Center Can't reconice that's Iam connecting to the Internet so the app is just act like it's offline while other apps like web browsers and IM's work good under Gnome-PPP. any way what I want is to have a Full Ubuntu experince by making The Network Connection Manger detect my ETS2051. I have another 3G USB modem and The Network Connection Manger detect it and it's work just fine but the internet price for this one is high and I can't effort it so am count on that ETS2051 modem as you can see for it's low price and stable internet speed that satesfy my needs. More information: Gnome-PPP is a GUI for wvdial. the ETS2051 modem use a serial USB port. I have a Windows driver CD for the device. I have also find This qustion about the software Center acting like it's offline around wvdial and there's this launchpad bug. and am really insest to use Ubuntu Software Center so please no other software manger apps recomendation... I've also this Genius ColorPage HR6X Slim scanner that's Ubuntu can't detect it, so if you interset you can check and answer the qustion from here...
