• Why is simulink data type conversion block altering the data when it should be typecasting?

  I am attempting to typecast some data from int32 to single. I first tried using the 'Data Type Conversion' block with single output data type and the Stored Integer option. However, I found that the datatype conversion block is not typecasting the data the way I expect it to. Am I using the block incorrectly, or is it failing to work as it should? temp1 (pre conversion): uint32: 1405695244 single: 1728356810752.000000 binary: 01010011110010010011010100001100 temp2 (post conversion): uint32: 1319604842 single: 1405695232.000000 binary: 01001110101001111001001001101010 By the way, I have gotten around the issue by using an embedded Matlab block to perform the typecasting operation.

  I have java.util.LinkedHashMap with Integer as Key and Character as Value. I know the key of the element i want to access. In addition to the element value for the key, i also want to retrieve the next 3 element values so that i can append all the 4 element values and form a string with 4 chars. I am asking for something like how we will do in a java.util.List. Is this feasible by any means in a Map/ordered map? Please suggest any other data structure that can help me achieve this. I am using Java 6.

  I'm trying to figure out the best way to convert a string containing a time to an integer number of milliseconds. I'm using a suboptimal way using a bunch of preg_match()'s and some array handling, but I was wondering if there was an elegant way. Here are some example stopwatch times (some wouldn't actually be seen on a stopwatch but need to be converted anyway): 3:34:05.81 34:05 5 (just 5 seconds) 89 (89 seconds) 76:05 (76 minutes, 5 seconds) Millseconds will not extend past 2 decimal places. You can give me an example using either PHP or Javascript regex functions. Thanks!

  Hi. So I have the (mostly vilified) #define MAX( a, b ) ( ((a) > (b)) ? (a) : (b) ) somewhere in a program (yes, yes, I know). At some point in the code there is a comparison X>-1?, where X is (as far as I can tell) a (signed) integer. The line is j += MAX(bmGs[i], bmBc[(int)y[i + j]] - m + 1 + i);, where y here is a char*. Not necessarily surprisingly, I find that the macro is returning -1 as the larger number (I'm guessing too long a number for int or an unsigned issue, but I can't find it). I would like to know techniques you guys may have for finding these kinds of errors. Notice that I'm not asking for programming advice about whether or not to use that macro, I'm sure folks are dying to tell me I should refrain from things like that, but the question is going somewhere else.   This is my first time using StackOverflow. I tried using BufferedReader, and BufferReader.readLine() return null.

• Grails - Need to restrict fetched rows based on condition on join table

  Hi guys, I have these two domains Car and Driver which have many-to-many relationship. This association is defined in table tblCarsDrivers which has, not surprisingly, primary keys of both the tables BUT additionally also has a new boolean field deleted. Herein lies the problem. When I find/get query on domain Car, I am fetched all related drivers irrespective of their deleted status in tblCarsDrivers, which is expected. I need to put a clause/constraint to exclude the deleted drivers from the list of fetched records. PS: I tried using an association domain CarDriver in joinTable name but that seems not to work. Apparently it expects only table names, not maps. PPS: I know its unnatural to have any other fields besides the mapping keys in mapping table but this is how I got it and it cant be changed. I would like to have the ability of adding manufacturers through this form. So I've created vba script but it does not work.   This might be a stupid question, but I just saw a question asking how to create a Type variable for a generic type. The consensus seemed to be that you should have a dummy method returning that type, and then use reflection to get it (in this case he wanted Map<String, String>). Something like this : public Map<String, String> dummy() { throw new Error(); } Type mapStringString = Class.forName("ThisClass").getMethod("dummy").getGenericReturnType(); My question is, not having used reflection that much, couldn't you just do something like: Type mapStringString = new ParameterizedType() { public Type getRawType() { return Map.class; } public Type getOwnerType() { return null; } public Type[] getActualTypeArguments() { return new Type[] { String.class, String.class }; } }; Would this work? If not, why not? And what are some of the dangers/problems if it does (besides being able to return some Type like Integer<String> which is obviously not possible.

  I try to access some values in a NSMutableArray I created, but I only get some numbers (address?) if I try to access them. I was able to initialize an array and can add and change objects with [myNSMutableArray addObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:10]] and [myNSMutableArray replaceObjectAtIndex:0 withObject:[NSNumber numberWithInt:47] I also can print the value at index [0] with NSLog(@"%@", [myNSMutableArray objectAtIndex:0]); and I get 47 as expected. But how can I access the integer value of the object in the array so I can save it tomyIntValue?

  I'm trying to make a function in OCaml which does the summation function in math. I tried this: sum n m f = if n = 0 then 0 else if n > m then f else f + sum (n + 1) m f;; However, I get an error - "Characters 41-44: else f * sum(n + 1) m f;; Error: Unbound value sum and sum is underlined (has carrot signs pointing to it) I looked at this: Simple OCaml exercise It's the same question, but I see a lot of other things that I do not have. For example, for my n = m case, I do not have f n and then in the else case, I do not have f m. Why do you need f n if you want the function to return an integer? D: What's the problem!? • Multiple key map in c++

  Hi, I'm wondering if any of you know of a c++ associative map container type which I can perform multiple key lookups on. The map needs to have constant time lookups but I don't care if it's ordered or unordered. It just needs to be fast. For example, I want to store a bunch of std::vector objects in a map with an integer and a void* as the lookup keys. Both the int and the void* must match for my vector to be retrieved. Does anything like this exist already? Or am I going to have to roll my own. If so, any suggestions? I've been trying to store a boost::unordered_map inside another boost::unordered_map, but I have not had any success with this method yet. Maybe I will continue Pershing this method if there is no simpler way. Thanks!

• pyschool is wrong ?

  I'm currently learning python and trying to do exercises at pyschools (if anyone knows what it is). Anyway, i have an exercise that asks me to do the following : Write a function percent(value, total) that takes in two numbers as arguments, and returns the percentage value as an integer. Here's my code: def percent(value, total): percent = value / total * 100 return int(percent) It works great in my Python Idle and it gives all the correct answers. however, when i run it in the pyschools website, it says that , for example , when the function is called with parameters 46 and 90 , the function returns 0. However, in my python idle , it correctly returns 51. What might be the problem ? Thank you very much for your help!

• Neo4j+Gremlin : Trouble with T.gte and floating point node attributes

  For a type of nodes in my graph, attribute values for an attribute(named 'some_count') is either missing or an integer or a float. I'm trying to write gremlin to filter these nodes based on minimum value for this attribute. I first verified that the values are indeed present by firing the following gremlin g.v(XXX)._().in('category').hasNot('some_count', T.eq, null).back(1).some_count Next, I tried filtering by exact value and that works and show me the matching nodes or gives an empty array if there is no match g.v(XXX)._().in('category').hasNot('some_count', T.eq, null).back(1).has('some_count', T.eq, 120000.0d) But the following query that uses the 'greater than or equal to' comparator doesn't work. g.v(XXX)._().in('category').hasNot('some_count', T.eq, null).back(1).has('some_count', T.gte, 1.0d) this returns nil (I'm querying via ruby/rails using Neo4j AR Adapter ) Instead of returning an empty array for no match, it returns a nil, which tells me something could be wrong with the query itself. I'm running neo4j community server 1.8. Is there a way I can ask Neo4j to log errors/queries, to see what could be going wrong ?
