  • PHP array problem?

    I'm new to PHP and I want this code <option value="" disabled="disabled">-------------</option> to be disabled when the php code is building my select list of options. How can I fix my php code so it will always set that specific option to disabled? Here is part of the php code. echo '<select name="country" id="country" size="20">' .     Hi All, I'm writing an application that needs to verify HMAC-SHA256 checksums.     Ok, this is for homework about hashtables, but this is the simple stuff I thought I was able to do from earlier classes, and I'm tearing my hair out. The professor is not being responsive enough, so I thought I'd try here. We have a hashtable of stock objects.The stock objects are created like so: stock("IBM", "International Business Machines", 2573, date(date::MAY, 23, 1967)) my constructor looks like: stock::stock(char const * const symbol, char const * const name, int sharePrice, date priceDate): symbol(NULL), name(NULL), sharePrice(sharePrice), dateOfPrice(priceDate) { setSymbol(symbol); setName(name); } and setSymbol looks like this: (setName is indentical): void stock::setSymbol(const char* symbol) { if (this->symbol) delete [] this->symbol; this->symbol = new char[strlen(symbol)+1]; strcpy(this->symbol,symbol); } and it refuses to allocate on the line this->symbol = new char[strlen(symbol)+1]; with a std::bad_alloc. name and symbol are declared char * name; char * symbol; I feel like this is exactly how I've done it in previous code.I'm sure it's something silly with pointers. Can anyone help?

    Hi ** changed the example to better express the situation i am using spring 2.5 and have the following situation @Component @Scope("prototype") Class Foo { } class A { @Autowired Foo fooA; } class B { @Autowired Foo fooB; } class C { @Autowired Foo fooC; } i am trying to understand if there is some way to use @Autowired and bind the same instance of FOO onto fooA and fooB while binding a different instance to fooC i understand that if the scope of FOO will be singleton it will work but i am wandering if there is a way to achieve the same goal while using a protoype scope. also please explain is this the correct usage of the autowiring concept ? am i trying to abuse the spring framework purpose

  • FORTRAN function returning an array causes a segfault (calling from C++)

    Basically, here's my problem. I'm calling someone else's FORTRAN functions from my C++ code, and it's giving me headaches. Some code: function c_error_message() character(len = 255) :: c_error_message errmsg(1:9) = 'ERROR MSG' return end That's the FORTRAN function. My first question is: Is there anything in there that would cause a segfault? If not, then second: What does that return? A pointer? I'm trying to call it with the following C statement: char *e = c_error_message_(); That causes a segfault. c_error_message(); That too causes a segfault. I declared c_error_message_() earlier on with the following code: extern"C" { char* c_error_message_(); } Would declaring a function with a different return type than the actual return type cause a segfault? I'm at a loss. Thanks for any replies.

    Hi Everyone, I'm trying to get a block of code down to one line. I need a way to get the number of items in a list. My code currently looks like this: # Include the lib directory several levels up from this directory my @ary = split('/', $Bin); my @ary = @ary[0 .. $#ary-4]; my $res = join '/',@ary; lib->import($res.'/lib'); That's great but I'd like to make that one line, something like this: lib->import( join('/', ((split('/', $Bin)) [0 .. $#ary-4])) ); But of course the syntax $#ary is meaningless in the above line. Is there equivalent way to get the number of elements in an anonymous list? Thanks! PS: The reason for consolidating this is that it will be in the header of a bunch of perl scripts that are ancillary to the main application, and I want this little incantation to be more cut & paste proof.

Here is the result from running the code: the result from ht.get(test1) null the result from ht.get(test0) foo Am I missing something here or is it just impossible to use int[] as keys in a hastable?

    I'm trying to create a deck of cards for my homework. Code is posted below. I need to create four sets of cards (the four suits) and am create a multidimensional array. When I print the results instead of trying to pass the array, I can see that the data in the array is as expected. However, when I try to pass the array card, I get an error cannot find symbol. I've got this modeled after texbook and Java tutorial examples, and I need some help figuring out what I'm missing.     I have a set of points in 3d space and I want to be able to categorize the shape that best fits them - cube, sphere, cylinder, planar (flat) etc. I've looked at supervised/machine learning but since I need first generate a large training data set that's not really suitable.   • Efficient synchronization of querying an array of resources

    There is a list of N resources, each of them can be queried by at most a single thread at a time. There are serveral threads that need to do the same thing at approximately the same time: query each of the resources (each thread has a different query), in arbitrary order, and collect the responses. If each thread loops over the resources in the same order, from 0 to N-1, then they will probably have to wait for each other, which is not efficient. I thought of letting the threads loop over the resources in a random permutation, but this seems too complex and also not so efficient, for example, for 2 resources and 2 threads, in half the cases they will choose the same order and wait for each other. Is there a simple and more efficient way to solve this?

  • Memory leaks while using array of double

    I have a part of code that operates on large arrays of double (containing about 6000 elements at least) and executes several hundred times (usually 800) . When I use standard loop, like that: double[] singleRow = new double[6000]; int maxI = 800; for(int i=0; i<maxI; i++) { singleRow = someObject.producesOutput(); //... // do something with singleRow // ... } The memory usage rises for about 40MB (from 40MB at the beggining of the loop, to the 80MB at the end). When I force to use the garbage collector to execute at every iteration, the memory usage stays at the level of 40MB (the rise is unsignificant). double[] singleRow = new double[6000]; int maxI = 800; for(int i=0; i<maxI; i++) { singleRow = someObject.producesOutput(); //... // do something with singleRow // ... GC.Collect() } But the execution time is 3 times longer! (it is crucial) How can I force the C# to use the same area of memory instead of allocating new ones? Note: I have the access to the code of someObject class, so if it would be needed, I can change it.
