  • good/full Boot Spirit examples using version 2 syntax

    Almost all of the examples I've gone and looked at so far from: http://boost-spirit.com/repository/applications/show_contents.php use the old syntax. I've read and re-read the actual documentation at http://www.boost.org/doc/libs/1_42_0/libs/spirit/doc/html/index.html and the examples therein. I know Joel is starting a compiler series on the blog http://boost-spirit.com/home/ but that hasn't gotten in full swing yet. Any other resources to see worked examples using some more sophisticated/involved aspects in the context of fully working applications?

  • fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file

    I looked at previous post based on this but they do not relate. I am receiving the following error. 1>c:\users\numerical25\desktop\intro todirectx\introtodirectx\chapter 4\init direct3d\init direct3d.cpp(9) : fatal error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'd3dApp.h': No such file or directory But clearly from the image shown below, its there In oppose to other people who are having issues finding the header on the physical drive. the compiler can not find my header from within the solution explorer.

  • Why doesn't Python require exactly four spaces per indentation level?

    Whitespace is signification in Python in that code blocks are defined by their indentation. Furthermore, Guido van Rossum recommends using four spaces per indentation level (see PEP 8: Style Guide for Python Code). What was the reasoning behind not requiring exactly four spaces per indentation level as well? Are there any technical reasons? It seems like all the arguments that can be made for making whitespace define code blocks can also be used to argument for setting an exact whitespace length for one indentation level (say four spaces).

  • Objective C: Initalizing static variable with static method call

    The Compiler claims an error saying: "initializer element is not constant", when I try to initialize a static variable inside a method with a call to a static method (with + in its definition). Anyway I can tell him that this method always returns the same value. I know this is not the same as static method, but there seems to be no constant methods in Objective-C (other than macros which won't work here because I am calling UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOM() from inside the method).

    I can build a simple dll consisting of a source file, a header file and a definition but now I am progressing beyond a simple toy dll and working towards something more complex. The DLL I am trying to compile has 2 source files, 2 headers and the dreaded stdafx pair. To compile normally you would use /Yc to compile the pch and /Yu to use it. How do you specify that with in the constraints of mojo-native's compiler options?

So this doesn't work, what is the right way?

    How do I make a WrapPanel with some items having a Height of *? A deceptively simple question that I have been trying to solve. I want a control (or some XAML layout magickry) that behaves similar to a Grid that has some rows with a Height of *, but supports wrapping of columns. Hell; call it a WrapGrid. :) Here's a mockup to visualize this. Here is a horrible MSPaint of some mockups I made detailing this process. Recall from the XAML that the auto-sized buttons have minHeights of 30, and the star-sized buttons have minHeights of 90. This mockup is just two grids side by side and I manually moved buttons around in the designer. Conceivably, this could be done programmatically and serve as a sort of convoluted solution to this. How can this be done? I will accept any solution whether it's through xaml or has some code-behind (though I would prefer pure XAML if possible since xaml code behind is tougher to implement in IronPython).   • MXMLC and 64bit JRE

    Are there any workarounds to get the Flex compiler to work with a 64bit JRE? If I use an MXMLC task in an Ant buildfile in Eclipse it works fine but if I try to use MXMLC from the command line (or try the Run... command from FDT in Eclipse) it fails, telling me ... "Error loading: C:\Program Files\Java\jrrt-1.6.0\jre\bin\jrockit\jvm.dll" (this is with a 64bit JRockit runtime but that shouldn't matter).

The reason behind this is that I use a controller that is protected for logged in users only, I don't want to have to call $this-protect(); from every action in the controller. Hence my attempt to use a constructor that calls $this-protect();

  • googletest and EXPECT_THROW weirdness

    I have a class that has no default constructor, but the construct may throw. I was wanting to have a test like: EXPECT_THROW(MyClass(param), std::runtime_error); But the compiler, g++, complains that there is no default constructor for Myclass. However the following: EXPECT_THROW(MyClass foo(param), std::runtime_error); Works, and the test passes as expected. Why though won't googletest accept the temporary object?

  • Internet Explorer 7 - Position Absolute - Dropdown Menu

    Hi GUys, I am having a big trouble positioning my dropdown menu on below URL (Internet Explorer 7 problem only): http://tinyurl.com/y7v2qj9 When hovering the menu, you will see that the drop down appears behind the image. This doesn´t happen in IE8 or Firefox, only in IE7. I think it must be related to a specific bug which i am unaware of, can´t find the solution. Your help is greatly appreciated ! THANKS !!
