nvidia GT 525m no screen found

I'm a Dell XPS user with nvidia GT 525M with Optimus. When I installed nvidia I was greeted with blank screen. And the error in nvidia log was "Fatal error : No screen found". So after searching for the solutions I figured that I have to insert "BusID" in xorg.conf file. After rebooting I was again greeted with blank screen with error "Fatal error : screen already occupied". I don't what exactly the problem is. Do I need to blacklist Intel inbuilt graphics to nvidia in my machine or anything else needs to be done? Please guide me.

Do i have to check "i want to track dynamic pages" and "i want to track php pages"? Do these options provide me better results or they are necessary for a dynamic site based on php like joomla? Then I tried with Gmount and on some forums it was told me to create mount points and the install it ... said and done the problem is that it mounts me the image it starts to install but only the first 3 disc images the expansion no ,so I said whatever it's ok even without the expansion but when i tried to play it says me insert the labelled disc but the iso image was still mounted with Gmount .Now somebody can help me please to resolve this problems ?

Virtualbox will run from 32bit installation CD but not 64bit.

I am trying to set up Windows in Virtual Box, so I don't need to reboot in the rare occasion that I actually need it. The problem is, Virtual Box doesn't preform any errors when I insert the 32bit installation CD but when I try to use the 64bit installation; What!? I am already using the installation disc! I've checked my BIOS to see if I have SVM (AMD's version of VT) disabled and all I see is "Enabled" I have a K9N6PGM2-V2 motherboard A Triple Core AMD Athlon II A Nvdia NForce 430 integrated graphics card 4GB of RAM An 80GB IDE And a 1TB SATA I don't think the last three specifications matter but just in case XP I am pretty sure the CD isn't broken ( I am going to make sure in just a moment ), what could be the cause to this problem? Edit: The 64bit installation CD is not broken, but I found out when trying to install from the 32bit version that it's trying to upgrade, not preform a fresh install - Odd.

I'm trying to create a bootable clonezilla usb with tuxboot, the application that is recommended by clonezilla site. I installed it via Ubuntu PPA and follow the instructions on the site to put files on usb. Everything went well and then I restarted the system. Now when I'm trying to boot from usb it says: "This is not a bootable disk. Please insert a bootable floppy and press any key to try again ..." What is causing this problem? I really appreciate any help you can provide. My laptop model is Dell studio-1558 and I'm running Ubuntu 14.04

On a queue, which end is the "head"?

I had always thought that the "head" of a queue as the next element to be read, and never really questioned that usage. So a linked-list library I wrote, which is used for maintaining queues, codified that terminology: we have a list1_head macro that retrieves the first element; when using this library in a queue, this will be the first element to be removed. But a new developer on the team was used to having queues implemented the other way around. He described a queue as behaving like a dog: you insert at the head, and remove at the tail. This is a clever enough description that I feel like his usage must be more widespread, and I don't have a similarly evocative description of my preferred usage. So, I guess, there are two related questions: 1, what does the "head" of a queue mean to you? and 2, why do we use the word "head" to describe that concept?

I have recently switched from Windows 7 to Ubuntu 12.10. I have installed Ubuntu 12.10 and I cleared everything from my computer, but it randomly stops at different screens. Only a purple screen comes up. I can choose Ubuntu from a list and a blinking white dot appears in the top left corner. The previous things happen and the Ubuntu login screen appears an I can log in. It is random. and I have not changed anything. I can always insert the bootable CD and it will work every time.

Calculating 3D camera positions from a video

I need to calculate the 3D camera position and rotation for each frame in a given video. This is typically used for motion-tracking, and to insert 3D objects into a video. I'm currently using VideoTrace to calculate this for me, and I'm getting the data exported as a 3DS Maxscript file. However when I try to use the 3D camera rotations, I'm getting strange errors in my 3D calculations, as if there is an error with the 3x3 rotation matrices. Can you spot any error with the data itself? structure problem in Relational DBMS creation

For learning and understanding purpose, I currently want to try to make a small relational DBMS with simple features like (for now) only sequential reading/writing and CREATE TABLE, INSERT, SELECT, UPDATE and DELETE management. I am currently on the "think" part of the project and I am stuck on the way to store the read data in memory. First I was thinking of putting them properly on a structure, but the problem is that tables are all different, know the type of each column is not an issue, but I am not sure C provide a way to make fully dynamic structure. My second and current idea is to make a simple char array of the required length and just get the data by order with cast. But I am not sure if it is the good way to do that part, so I wanted to ask for your opinion and advices about that. Thanks in advance for your help. nb: I hope my question is enough clear and understandable, I still lack of pratice in english

Get Rhythmbox debugging info

I'm having a weird problem with Rhythmbox that no one else seems to have. When I pause on any audio CD, I can't get Rhythmbox to play it again. I've tried various workarounds including trying to play next/previous track, trying to manually move the seek bar, etc. but to no avail. When this happens I've no choice but to remove the CD from my drive and insert it again. There does not seem to be anything weird with my system when this happens, apart from the fact that Rhythmbox isn't playing as it is supposed to. Is there anything I can do to get more info on why Rhythmbox is acting up as such?

Just a quick tip for working with the gridview in ASP.Net. If your data column contains HTML text, you've probably seen something like this in your gridview after pulling the data: <font color="red">First Item</font><br/><font color="green">Second Item</font><br/><font color="blue">Third Item</font> To have the relevant column render in HTML, just go to your gridview property pages, find the column you need rendered in HTML, and click 'convert this Field into a TemplateField'. The result is that as a template field, HTML within your bound data value will be rendered properly. So our example above would transform into: First Item Second Item Third Item I primarily use this technique for enabling HTML content in comment fields, and to insert line breaks when building the data for these fields. Double click executable file and nothing happens

I'm trying to install a game for Linux called Myth 2. Autorun doesn't run when I insert the CD. When I double-click or right-click and the select "Open" on the Setup file, a box appears saying that it's an executable file, and what I want to do. I click on "Run", but nothing happens after that. I checked the permissions, and it allows it running the executable. How do I install this game? Please break down instructions as much as possible, I'm not used to using commands and Terminal. ;)

Is it convenient to use a XML/JSON generated based system? [closed]

One of my clients insists that we missed a requisite for the project(a little social network, using PHP + MySql), is that all queries are made from XML / JSON static files (using AJAX) and not directly from the database. Edit: The main reason, stated by client, is a way to economize bandwith. Even the file loading, has to be using AJAX, to avoid server side processing. We will still use a database to store and insert data. These XML / JSON files will be (re) generated whenever any data is changed by CMS or users. As the project was developed without this "technique", we'll have a lot of work ahead, so I would like to avoid that. I'm asking if it's convenient to use a XML generated based system, because I think a database is already "optimized" and secure to deal with a lot of data traffic. Other issue I'm afraid of, is a chance of conflict when a user is trying to read a XML/JSON which is being just generated.

Consuming JSON stream into AWS Database on the cheap

I'm working on a project that needs to consume a JSON stream (approximately 1MB / minute), and parse and insert objects into a database. Amazon's DynamoDB or SimpleDB seem like attractive options for this. Is there a web service that can run a very simple script to eat the data and put it in a database? I could use a worker on Heroku or Elastic Beanstalk, or even pure EC2, but I'd like to find a service that's much cheaper, due to the very low amount of bandwidth and CPU required. (Sorry for the crappy tags. I'm not even sure where to categorize this question.)

How to get useful feedback/bug reports from users

I'm sure most webmasters have recived a mail like this: Creating [insert item here] is not working! When you check it out there is no general problem with the function but rather the user has discovered an edge case. Almost every mail I get is like this and in the long run it gets a bit annoying to always have to ask the user for more information. Is there anything I can do to get my users provide more useful feedback? Right now I have a mailto: for the webmaster mail in the page footer. I was thinking of changing this so that they have to report through a form on the site. Anyone got any experience with this? Do you get better/more reports by having a feedback form instead of giving the users the email?
