• Functions connected to signals in QtScript (on Qt 4.5.2) are not firing

  I've injected into a proprietary Qt (4.5.2) application, added my own compatible build of QtScript, and have managed to get access to all the signals I need. However, when connecting to them (via QtScript) my functions are never called. I've come up with a few theories for why this is and I've tested everything I can think of, but I've hit a bit of a wall. Note, I've never had any connection exceptions whatsoever. Here are my current theories: The signals I'm connecting to are already connected to other slots, and that's somehow blocking it (but as far as I know, all Qt signals fire to all slots with no extra work, and can't be restricted in this way) The signals are rejecting my connection, or disconnecting me after connection (but I see no facility for this) My connection is happening from another thread, and this is somehow causing it not to connect properly Are any of these theories plausible? If not, what have I missed?

  In a test project I've managed to AutoGenerate WPF DataGrid columns in the following scenario, where the data is stored in a Dictionary and binding is performed via PropertyDescriptors: public class People:List<Person>{ ... } public class Person:Dictionary<string,string>,INotifyPropertyChanged,ICustomTypeDescriptor { } The problem I'm having is in my real life project I'm using MVVM so it's *People*ViewModel which inherits ViewModelBase and hence can't inherit List<Person>. I've tried implementing IList<Person> instead with an internal List<Person> and explicitly setting the DataContext to an IList<Person> reference but that didn't work. I've seen a similar post on binding a win forms DataGridView here, so I'm wondering if the same sort of logic applies in WPF and primarily, what exactly causes the ICustomTypeDescriptor implementation to be picked up when inheriting List<T> that is missing when you simply implement IList<T> instead.

• Java POI 3.6 XWPF usage guidelines (reading content of docx file)

  I assume the following objects should be used to read contents of DOCX file: XWPFDocument XWPFWordExtractor However, somewhere the compiler warns me from not including the correct libraries needed in classpath. I think I'm kinda lost for not knowing which jar file is the right one to include for this since there are so many jar files (POI libraries). My project so far involve in reading doc and docx files as part of the project. I've managed to read the contents of doc file. However, for docx file, I'm still having problem with that. Can anyone show the guidelines in terms of the codes and libraries needed (jar files) to read the content of docx file? I'm trying to limit the libraries need to be added on into project since I need to read doc and docx only. • Can I set auto-width on an Open XML SDK-generated spreadsheet without calculating the individual wid

  I'm working on creating an Excel file from a large set of data by using the Open XML SDK. I've finally managed to get a functional Columns node, which specifies all of the columns which will actually be used in the file. There is a "BestFit" property that can be set to true, but this apparently does not do anything. Is there a way to automatically set these columns to "best fit", so that when someone opens this file, they're already sized to the correct amount? Or am I forced to calculate how wide each column should be in advance, and set this in the code?

• vs2010: trying to debug javascript using Chrome: this is not a valid location for a breakpoint

  Everytime I try to set a debug point in Javascript, eietehr while in Design mode or while runniong, I get the error: trying to set a breakpoint in javascript: this is not a valid location for a breakpoint When I go to VS2010's Options screen under Debugging Just In Time, I see that Managed, Native & Script are selected, I also placed the line "debugger;" in the first line of a javascript function that is called but the break is never hit. In the Web.Config (although this is probably for compiled code:): <compilation debug="true I'm reliving this problem on a new machine...Can u help? Edit: I left out a huge detail: Google Chrome is my default browser. (I am trying to debug a Chrome-only error.) Must I resort to other debug tools other than VS2010? I am thinking that it should work. Too hopeful, eh?

  After deploying a WCF RESTful service that i created using the REST started kit, i got several errors that i managed to solve following this post: http://www.edoverip.com/edoverip/index.php/2009/01/30/running-wcf-on-godaddy Now i'm stuck with this error: IIS specified authentication schemes 'Basic, Anonymous', but the binding only supports specification of exactly one authentication scheme. Valid authentication schemes are Digest, Negotiate, NTLM, Basic, or Anonymous. Change the IIS settings so that only a single authentication scheme is used I saw that others got to this point without a solution. GoDaddy support dont know nothing. Is it possible at all? Are there any web hosting services that you know that support that?

• Using UITouch inside a UIScrollView

  Hi all, Just toying with the SDK and I was wondering if possible a UITouch event can work inside a UIScrollView. I have setup a UIScrollView which handles a large UIView, inside the UIView is a UIImageView, I've managed to get the UITouch to drag the UIImageView outside of the UIScrollView but inside it's not registering the event. I suppose what I was trying to accomplish was dragging the UIImageView around the large UIView whilst the UIScrollView moves along the image if the user drags it beyond the POS of when the UIView when the UIImageView began it's dragging, if that makes sense? • Matlab and .NET Interaction

  Hi All! I'm having an issue interacting between Matlab and .NET. I've managed to call .NET methods from Matlab code and vice versa. However, if I call a .NET method that, in turn, instantiates a Matlab object, it crashes (with a type initialization exception). Think about this scenario: a .NET assembly is interacting with a Matlab dll that was deployed for .NET (not native) by Matlab's deploytool. Now, when I'm loading the above .NET dll in a Matlab program everything is ok until I run a method that utilizes the other Matlab dll. Only then everything crashes. The exact message is: Warning: Cannot initialize MATLAB Compiler-generated software component in MATLAB. MATLAB Compiler-generated software components cannot be used from within MATLAB. Please don't offer not to use Matlab-.NET-Matlab architecture, it's not an option. Thank you very much (I promise to accept the answer that solves the problem :-)), Yaron.

• How to change VS2010 Add Reference box filter ?

  I'm getting used to the new IDE (it's vc# express), but the first contact is somewhat confusing. When I open the Add Reference dialog and switch to the .NET tab, a label above the assembly list states: "Filtered to:.NET Framework 4". And it's true - I can reference .NET 4.0 assemblies only plus things like XNA 3.1. However I can't see older assemblies i.e. Managed DirectX libs, which are obviously installed on my computer as there was no trouble with adding a ref to them in vc#08. What is this? How to change the filter? The label is read-only. These sound like dull guy's questions, but I'm out of lack of finding an answer and there is no intuitive solution. Thanks in advance.

  After uinstalling VS2012 and installing back Visual Studio 2010 C# Express I was getting strane warning: 2008 is not a valid number so I decided to reinstall VS2010, but I couldn't uinstall it. I was getting error: Suite Integration Toolkit Executable has stopped working. I managed to uinstall VS2010 with VS2010 Uinstall Tool, but now I want to install Visual Studio 2010 C# Express back. I'm getting Suite Integration Toolkit[...] error again when I try to install it using web installer. Could you help me resolve my problem? And I've got Tablet PC Components function disabled in Control Panel / Programs and Utilites.

• Is there a dojo enhanced grid example with context menu

  I am looking for an example of a dojo enhanced grid that contains a context menu on either a cell or row menu where the cell or row data is accessed. I have managed to create an enhanced grid with a row context menu. I can create a function that captures the event of clicking on the row menu item. However, I am not sure how to access the row data in the context of the menu item handler. I have not seen any example in the tests of the nightly build. Is there an example of this available online?

• Using GoogleMaps with JXMapKit

  I have been searching on the web to see if I can use GoogleMaps with the JXMapViewer. According to this, it is illegal, but the article is more than three years old. Could anyone be kind enough to tell me if I can use GoogleMaps with the JXMap viewer? I know that Google has recently allowed desktop applications to use their static maps provided that the application is freely accessible to people on some website. If this can be done, I would appreciate some pointer to where I could start looking so that I can use Google Maps, I tried messing around with this but to no avail. Thanks in advance. Edit: I have managed to show a map in my JXMapKit. The only problem is that I am getting the image as a tiled image, whilst I only need one. Any help on this issue?

I would like to use the org-entry-get functionality to make diary-anniversary take the values of the Birthday and Name (see the bold text above) properties. • Show/Hide RichFaces component onclick client-side? (without AJAX)

  I'm looking for a way to show/hide an arbitrary RichFaces component. In this case, I have a <rich:dataTable> that contains several rows. Each row needs to have it's own, independent Show/Hide link, such that when you click "Show details", two things happen: The "Show details" link is re-rendered as "Hide details" The associated detailsColumn is displayed. Furthermore, detailsColumns should be hidden by default (effectively rendered="true" to the client but hidden with style="display: none;"). I don't want to write my own JavaScript functions if it's not absolutely necessary. I also don't want to have a server-side bean keep track of which detailColumns are being displayed, and subsequently re-render everything over AJAX: this should be purely client-side behavior. I'm not sure how to accomplish that. • Encryption Product Keys : Public and Private key encryption

  I need to generate and validate product keys and have been thinking about using a public/private key system. I generate our product keys based on a client name (which could be a variable length string) a 6 digit serial number. It would be good if the product key would be of a manageable length (16 characters or so) I need to encrypt them at the base and then distrubute the decryption/validation system. As our system is written in managed code (.NET) we dont want to distribute the encryption system, only the decryption. I need a public private key seems a good way to do this, encrypt with the one key that i keep and distribute the other key needed for decrpytion/verification. What is an appropriate mechanism to do this with the above requirements?

• Building cURL & libcurl with Visual Studio 2010

  With the help of question #197444, I have managed to build cURL & libcurl from source on Windows from within the Visual Studio 2010 IDE, OpenSSL 1.0.0, and zlib 1.2.5. The problem I see is that at the moment, if I run the resulting curl.exe with the argument -V, then the version that it report is curl 7.20.1 (i386-pc-win32) libcurl/7.20.1 OpenSSL/0.9.8d zlib/1.2.3 Protocols: dict file ftp ftps http https imap imaps ldap pop3 pop3s rtsp smtp smtps telnet tftp Features: AsynchDNS Largefile NTLM SSL libz Note the versions reported for both OpenSSL & zlib doesn't match if what I actually used. Any idea on how to fix this? p.s. Is there a clear list of optional components that can be compiled into libcurl and what options/preprocessor directive to use? (e.g. SSPI, libidn, ...?)

• xperf won't use my DLL's pdb

  I'm attempting to use xperf to profile my (unmanaged) DLL which is loaded by another (managed) application. Basically, xperf isn't loading the symbols for my DLL; in the CPU usage summary, my DLL's function column says 'Unknown' xperf gives me: xperf: Using symbol path: C:\app\mydll\releaseu;SRV*c:\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols xperf: Using executable path: C:\app\mydll\releaseu;SRV*c:\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols xperf: Using SymCache path: \SymCache Where C:\app\mydll\releaseu is where my DLL's .pdb file is located. Using xperf -symbols or clicking Load Symbols in the viewer doesn't load my DLL's symbols. A folder for mydll isn't created in C:\Symbols, I'm only getting the symbols from Microsoft. Any idea how to make it work?

  LS, I was planning on writing a wrapper around the System.Net.Sockets.Socket class, because I didn't feel like using the SSLStream class because I wanted to maintain backwards compatibility with other programs. I found an article which does exactly what I want, but on Windows Mobile. • Howto I get the user domain\username and Display name From SharePoint People Picker InternalId?

  I have been trying to user sharepoint designer to retrieve the user's full name and even the domain\username from the people pucker field but the problem is I tend to get numbers. It looks like the intetrnal Id. In my case I am getting 14 instead of domain\username from the list form's field. Any idea on where I can get the dmain\username or even better the full name? Thanks !! I am using SharePoint Designer and Windows Sharepoint Services 3/SharePoint 2007. Update : I have managed to get the domain\username now. I just had to change the people picker's show field to ID. However now I am getting a weird prefix on my domain\username. I am getting this -1;#domain\username instead of just domain\username. Anybody know how I can overcome this? Thanks !!

• Using CHDataStructures.framework on iPhone

  Hi, I'm new to iPhone programming and I'm trying to use CHDataStructures in my project. But I'm running into some issues: When I directly try to build it right after download I get the error "Foundation/Foundation.h" no such file or directory. The Active SDK is "Use Base SDK" and the active architecture is x86_64. I believe I should set the Active SDK to the iPhone SDK but it isn't listed there; At some point (I don't remember how) I managed to tweak it and I got the iPhone SDK (simulator) in the active SDK but when I tried to build it I got the following error: "target specifies product type 'com.apple.product-type.framework', but there's no such product type for the 'iphonesimulator' platform"; And now I'm stuck. • JSF 2/Primefaces p:ajax not updating panel after onchange event is fired

  I am really stuck with this for the last 2 days and am struggling to understand how Primefaces updates UI components on the client based on their ID. I have a h:selectOneMenu with a count for the number of panels to be displayed. Each p:panel will contain a panelGrid with numerous form elements. The onchange event on the drop down is fired and I can see the count in the Managed Bean.
