• Org-mode anniversary property to agenda

  I am trying to have the "Birthday" property of an Org-mode contact entry added to the agenda automatically: * John :PROPERTIES: :Name: John :Birthday: 5 4 1900 :END: This can be done manually for each entry using: %%(diary-anniversary 5 4 1900) John's birthday But I don't want to type the date twice. I would like to use the org-entry-get functionality to make diary-anniversary take the values of the Birthday and Name (see the bold text above) properties. This is how I get the correct property values. %%(org-entry-get nil "Name") %%(org-entry-get nil "Birthday") But after several attempts, I still haven't managed to put the values in variables and pass them correctly to diary-anniversary. Any ideas how to do it?

• dynamically create class in scala, should I use interpreter?

  Hi, I want to create a class at run-time in Scala. For now, just consider a simple case where I want to make the equivalent of a java bean with some attributes, I only know these attributes at run time. How can I create the scala class? I am willing to create from scala source file if there is a way to compile it and load it at run time, I may want to as I sometimes have some complex function I want to add to the class. How can I do it? I worry that the scala interpreter which I read about is sandboxing the interpreted code that it loads so that it won't be available to the general application hosting the interpreter? If this is the case, then I wouldn't be able to use the dynamically loaded scala class. Anyway, the question is, how can I dynamically create a scala class at run time and use it in my application, best case is to load it from a scala source file at run time, something like interpreterSource("file.scala") and its loaded into my current runtime, second best case is some creation by calling methods ie. createClass(...) to create it at runtime.   I've read about ninjects contextual binding here : http://ninject.codeplex.com/wikipage?title=Contextual%20Binding and am trying to get it working in my project. The docs state that I need to add a reference to Ninject.Conditions.Dll which I do not have. Does anybody know where to get this? I've tried over at github : https://github.com/ninject/ninject I used the download link to get the 2.0.1.0 sources and managed to build them but no dll. I found a similar question here : Where can I find ninject.web.mvc.dll? and an answer with a link to a build server. I followed the link and I get a login request for team city. I don't have an account.

• How to add a hyperlink column to a TcxGrid (Developer express grid)

  Hi In Delphi I've managed (!) to add a column to a TcxGrid table view that appears as a hyperlink (instead of a simple string). To do this, you simply edit 'properties' of the column and choose 'hyperlink'. The cell now shows a hyperlink style (underlined) but I canot for the life of me see how to: Get the cursor to change to the 'hand' when over the link. Add an event that is fired when I click the link. Can anyone help? Thanks.

• EJB3 Business Delegates

  Is there any reason for making delegate when using EJB3? Because the only real benefit i see from delegate is that it allows to hide lookup and access details of EJB architecture. Well it also provides some decoupling but it's mostly unused, imho. With EJB3 we have injection so now i can just create a variable with @EJB annotation and use it as is. Do i still need delegates? Is this injection resource consuming? I mean if i use it in JSF's request managed beans may be it's still better to use delegates just to lessen these injection calls? Thank you!

The magnetic toys like ball of whacks or the ball-and-stick ones present hands on fun of a structural nature... now can there be a similar hands on fun toy that aids in representing a solution to a problem? The Gui Mags clearly could, but they're quite utility oriented. The AVR Butterfly is less of a toy but definitely priced attractively, cheaper and more responsive than a basic stamp. I'm not going to pick an answer; there's several great suggestions here. Thank you.

  I was just playing around with some code in LINQPad and managed to crash the program with a stackoverflow exception. I basically created a static property in a class and used another property to return the value from an instance. The getter of my instance property would return the value of the static property, but the setter would set itself. When would this type of pattern be used and how come it generated a stackoverflow exception? • spring.net application scope repository object on loadbalanced application

  Hi, We have an application running on a loadbalanced environment, let say webserver A and B. The loadbalancing is on the HTTP level, so the loadbalancer directs each user request to one of both webservers. The scope of the repositories in the application is managed by the spring.net container, and the application relies on data that can be cached by the repository (performance reasons). In this case we can never be sure that the cached data in the repositories on both webservers is the same. Is there mechanism in spring.net that can manage this kind problem? Or is there another common approach for this kind of thing? Any ideas? Thx, Bert

  Hi, I'm trying to 'AJAX-ify' my site in order to improve the UI experience. In terms of performance, I'm also trying to get rid of the UpdatePanel. I've come across a great article over at Encosia showing a way of posting using PageMethods. My question is, how secure are page methods in a production environment? Being public, can anyone create a JSON script to POST directly to the server, or are there cross-domain checks taking place? My PageMethods would also write the data into the database (after filtering). I'm using Forms Authentication in my pages and, on page load, it redirects unauthenticated users to the login page. Would the Page Methods on this page also need to check authentication if the user POSTs directly to the method, or is that authentication inherited for the entire page? (Essentially, does the entire page cycle occur even if a user has managed to post only to the PageMethod)? Thanks

• Is it possible to stream a file to and from servers without holding the data in ram?

  Hi everyone! PHP question (new to PHP after 10 years of Perl, arrggghhh!). I have a 100mb file that I want to send to another server. I have managed to read the file in and "post" it without curl (cannot use curl for this app). Everything is working fine on smaller files. However, with the larger files, PHP complains about not being able to allocate memory. Is there a way to open a file, line by line, and send it as a post ALSO line by line? This way nothing is held in ram thus preventing my errors and getting around strict limitations. Chris

Now I want to use it in a java application, but I can't find any resources how to register the factory.   Hi, I have an assignment about uploading and downloading a file to a server. I managed to do the uploading part using Java Sockets however I am having a hard time doing the downloading part. I should use Range: for downloading parellel. In my request, I should have the Range: header. But I don't understand how I will receive the file with that HTTP GET request. All the examples I have seen was about uploading a file. I already did it. I can upload .exe, image, .pdf, anything and when I download them back (by my browser), there are no errors. Can you help me with the downloading part? Can you give me an example beacuse I really didn't get it.

  Hi all, I'm just getting started with JQuery and the treeview plugin so this should be a relatively easy question: The example code for adding branches to the tree: var newnodes = $("<li><span class='folder'>New Sublist</span><ul>" + "<li><span class='file'>Item1</span></li>" + "<li><span class='file'>Item2</span></li></ul></li>").appendTo("#browser"); $("#browser").treeview({ add: branches }); Works fine for me, but adds the new branch at the end of the tree - instead what I want is to be able to select a specific node and add to that branch. I've managed to get the node being added by using the id of the particular node instead of the whole treeview in - appendTo("nodeID") However I can't get the tree to render correctly, either with: $("nodeID").treeview({ add: branches }); or $("browser").treeview({ add: branches }); or calling it on both without arguments. • Problem reintegrating a branch into the trunk in Subversion 1.5

  I'm trying to reintegrate a development branch into the trunk in my Subversion 1.5 repository. I merged all the changes from the trunk to the development branch prior to this operation. Now when I try to reintegrate the changes from the branch I get the following error message: Command: Reintegrate merge https://dev/svn/branches/devel into C:\trunk Error: Reintegrate can only be used if revisions 280 through 325 were previously Error: merged from https://dev/svn/trunk to the reintegrate Error: source, but this is not the case: Error: branches/devel/images/test Error: Missing ranges: /trunk/images/test:280-324 ... The message then goes on complaining about some folders in my project. But when I try to merge the changes from the trunk to the development branch again, TortoiseSVN tells me that there's nothing to merge (as I already merged all the changes before): Command: Merging revisions 1-HEAD of https://dev/svn/trunk into C:\devel, respecting ancestry Completed: C:\devel I'm trying to follow the instructions from here: http://svnbook.red-bean.com/en/1.5/svn.branchmerge.basicmerging.html, but there's nothing about solving such a problem. Any ideas? Perhaps I should just delete the trunk and then make a copy of my branch? But I'm not really sure if it's safe.

  Hi!    In my project we created stub files for testing junits in java(factories) itself. However, we have to externalize these stubs. After seeing a number of serializers/deserializers, we settled on using XStream to serialize and deserialize these stub objects. XStream works like a charm. Its pretty good at what it claims to be. Previously, we had a single factory class say AFactory which produced all the stubs needed for testing different test cases. Now when externalizing each of the stub generated, we hit a road block. We had to create 1 xml file for each stub produced by the factory. For example, public final class AFactory{ public static A createStub1(){ /*Code here */} public static A createStub2(){ /*Code here */} public static A createStub3(){ /*Code here */} } Now, when trying to move this stubs to external files, we had to create 1 xml file for each stub created(A-stub1.xml, A-stub2.xml and A-stub3.xml). The problem with this approach is that, it leads to proliferation of xml stub files. I was thinking, how about keeping all the stubs related to a single bean class in a single xml file. <?xml version="1.0"?> <stubs class="A"> <stub id="stub1"> <!-- Here comes the externalized xml stub representation --> </stub> <stub id="stub2"> </stub> </stubs> Is there a framework which allows you keep all the stub in xml representation in a single xml file as above ? Or What do you guys suggest should be the right approach to adhere to ?

Off the top of my head I can think of a few features I'd like to see: USB interface Not too expensive (I don't know 100-200 dollars?) • Connect to SQL Server Compact Edition in SSIS

  Till now I've been exporting data INTO the SQL Server CE database, but now in SSIS I'm attempting to source data that was inserted in a previous step of the import. The SSIS fails during validation with the following error Error: Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime.DtsCouldNotCreateManagedConnectionException: Could not create a managed connection manager. I am attempting to use the ADO NET Source that connects to the Data Source using the Microsoft.SqlServerCe.Client.3.5 provider (i.e. ADO.NET connection manager). I CAN preview the data in the ADO.NET Source editor, but the package validation fails due to the above error.

• OpenID Authentication 2.0 in Joomla 1.0.x

  Is there any easy way to bring OpenID authentication into a Joomla 1.0.x website? I am particularly interested in Google authentication (so I'll want OAuth &/or OpenID Attribute Exchange as well later), but for now just authentication will work. I know Joomla 1.5.x supports OpenID natively but I have to stick with 1.0.x for now. Any ideas? There are some traces of com_openid component on the net but I cannot find anything to look at.. EDIT I managed to find a J-OpenID component, gonna give it a try.

  Hi, I'm porting an application with EJBs 2.1 from Weblogic9 to JBoss AS5. I have made some of the changes like adding jboss.xml descriptors to EJBs and fixing application.xml of the EAR, but there are still problems when deploying the EAR. • How to use 3rd party libraries in glassfish?

  I need to connect to a MongoDB instance from my EJB3 application, running on glassfish 3.0.1. The Mongo project provides a set of drivers, and I'm able to use them in a standalone Java application. How would I use them in a JEE application? Or maybe better phrasing: how would I make a 3rd party library available to my application when it runs in an EJB container?
