  I need to compare two dates to show an edit link if it is within 5 mins after the post was made, in php. If after 5 mins dont show anything. $answer_post_date = get_the_time("Y-m-d"); $current_date = date("Y-m-d"); $formated_current_date = strtotime($answer_post_date); $formated_answer_post_date = strtotime($current_date); At this point i have two values: 1274414400 ($formated_current_date) 1276056000 ($formated_answer_post_date) I am not sure what to do next to check if the current date/time is ! 5 mins from answer post date. Any suggestions would be great All i really need the answer to be is a Boolean (yes/no) and if yes display the minuets left to show the link to edit.

• Printer Communication Capture

  If I need to post this elsewhere let me know. We have some old software thats being re-written, that uses a printerdriver to a propriatery printer. I need to rewrite the software bypassing the print driver and go directly to the printer. I do have the specs for the printer communication, thats fine, but what Id like to do is monitor the communications to the printer to view its contents (from the existing software that Im re-writing) and compare it to the specs, and what I will be sending it for validation. I have to make sure Im not missing anything. Any ideas on how I might be able to accomplish this? Thanks

  First, I am SO sorry if the answer is out there. I've looked and looked and feel this is such a simple thing that it should be obvious. I'm wanting to make sure only the person who added an event can modify it. Simple! I already have a datasource that has event_added_by as a data point. It is populating a FormView. SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM [tbl_events] WHERE ([event_ID] = @event_ID)" And I have Page.User.Identity.Name. How do I compare the two?   Im working a bit with MVC. I need to know something about roles when using the same controller for several users getting and showing pictures. I need to show pictures, but sometimes these pictures should only be shown for those who created them. So now when using the Authorize attribute and if picture and username match thrue my databse I could ofcause use this to make a match. I could ofcause make a match method in the controller. • Can I get a "base URL" in Wordpress within a template file?

  Usually in my PHP apps I have a base URL setup so I can do things like this <a href="<?php echo BASE_URL; ?>tom/jones">Tom</a> Then I can move my site from development to production and swap it easily and have the change go site wide (and it seems more reliable than <base href="" />. I'm doing up a Wordpress theme, and I am wondering, does WordPress have anything like this built in, or do I need to redefine my own? I can see ABSPATH, but that is the absolute file path in the file system, not something from the document root.

But if I try to do the samething with parameter being passed I get nothing. I want to merge the recent change with total, i want the output as , Output.txt order1,5,item1 order2,6,item2 order3,8,item3 order4,6,item4 order8,12,item8 Note : 2nd column of (3rd & 5th) row of the total.txt is updated with changed.txt file i have used the below nawk to compare the first coulmn, but not able to print it to the output file.   Hi Guys, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction here. With a picture of a die (from above) I want to recognize which side is up. I understand the basics in play here, but I'm having trouble grasping the power of OpenCV. I imagine I want a picture of each side of the die.   I have two large xml files. Almost 1.4 mb each. I want to compare them and see the differing part. I am using linux. Is there any free tool which can do this for me ? Or any other technique ? I used "diff" command in linux and tried to output the result in another file. (diff file1.xml file2.xml result.xml) But the resulted file showed "Could not parse the xml". However it showed something on screen. I would like the differ part to be stored somewhere if possible. (or atleast I should be able to see it properly) Thanks Ragini

• MySQL Query WHERE Including CASE or IF?

  Strange problem. My Query looks like SELECT DISTINCT ID, `etcetc`, `if/elses over muliple joined tables` FROM table1 AS `t1` # some joins, eventually unrelated in that context WHERE # some standard where statements, they work/ CASE WHEN `t1`.`field` = "foo" THEN (`t1`.`anOtherField` != 123 AND `t1`.`anOtherField` != 456 AND `t1`.`anOtherOtherField` != "some String") WHEN `t1`.`field` = "bar" THEN `t1`.`aSecondOtherField` != 12345 END #ORDER BY CASE etc. Standard Stuff Apperantly MySQL returns a wrong rowcount and I think my problem is in the logic of the WHERE ... CASE statement. Maybe with the brackets? Maybe I should go for operator OR and not AND? Should my the second WHEN include brackets also, even when I only compare one field? Should I use IF and not CASE? Basically I want to exclude some rows with specific values IF theres a specific value in field foo or bar I would try that all out, but it takes a huge amount of time to complete that query... :(

  I am using asp.net 3.5 I have a license class containing 10 properties and not marked as serializable. I have to log property changes to the database. License is an entity class,and it is not in my scope to modify it. So I cannot mark it as serializabel neither i can use IpropertyChanged Interface. Now i cannot store it in viewstate as it is not serializable. I wanted to store it so that i can compare it with new values and see which value has changed. How to proceed with this.

• Java Swing architecture for flipping through JPane based views

  Hi all, I have done a couple of simple swing based apps with static layout, but now I've run into a problem while trying to create an app containing multiple views which are changed by pressing appropriate navigational button. You could compare the idea to a website so that every view has buttons to access certain other views but this would work inside a single JFrame. I've found that maybe CardLayout (Cardlayout example) might be appropriate solution for this kind of structure, but I'm unable to figure out a way to switch the views from the buttons which are inside of the JPanes that I've implemented in their separate classes, Of course one way would be to instantiate everything in the parent class like in the small java tutorial example, but this isn't quite clean nor modular for multiple views, isn't it. How can this be implemented so that I can access the view switching method?

  I have this regex I made to compare OS names to a line in a VMX file. It started out as seperate elsif statments but I ended up making into a single if statment. • Linux, C++ audio capturing (just microphone) library

  I'm developing a musical game, it's like a singstar but instead of singing, you have to play the recorder. It's called oFlute, and it's still in early development stage. In the game, I capture the microphone input, then run a simple FFT analysis and compare the results to typical recorder's frequencies, thus getting the played note. At the beginning, the audio library I was using was RtAudio, but I don't remember why I switched to PortAudio, which is what I'm currently using. The problem is that, from time to time, either it crashes randomly or stops capturing, like if there were no sound coming from the microphone. My question is, what's the best option to capture microphone input on Linux? I just need to open, read, and close a flow of bytes from the microphone. I've been reading this guide, and (un)surprisingly it says: I don't think that PortAudio is very good API for Unix-like operating systems. So, what do you recommend me?

• Console App Mouse-Click X Y Coordinate Detection/Comparison

  I have a game that I am working on in a C# console application, purely as practice before going on to better methods. As opposed to using something such as a Windows Forms App, which has button functionality built in, I am endeavoring to grab the cursor position (which I know how to do) and compare it to a number of area's inside a console application as defined by perhaps pixel location, but I also do not know if there is some sort of built in unit of space other than pixels (this last bit is the part I am unable to figure). P.S. I know this is in general terms, with no code already provided, but I do not feel that it is needed as all I am asking for is a brief explanation of how to grab X Y coordinates inside a console application, and stick them in int variables. • malloc hangs in Linux

  I am using Linux on a 16 G with 2 quad core CPU. There are 8 processes which are doing some work (CPU intensive/network i/o). Out of which 4 have a memory leak (These are test conditions so no problem in having leaks here). Total space is occupied by all processes is around 15.4 G only 200 MB is free in system. Things are fine for some hours. But after that malloc hangs (for a process which doesn't have a memory leak). Its stuck for for more than 4 minutes (Note CPU is not 100% but io has gone up signficantly). Now there is no problem in the hanged process. (It has not corrupted the memory). What malloc is doing? (is it tryibg to defragment or builidng up swap space).I am using SUSE 10. Any pointers?

• How to do query auto-completion/suggestions in Lucene?

  I'm looking for a way to do query auto-completion/suggestions in Lucene. I've Googled around a bit and played around a bit, but all of the examples I've seen seem to be setting up filters in Solr. We don't use Solr and aren't planning to move to using Solr in the near future, and Solr is obviously just wrapping around Lucene anyway, so I imagine there must be a way to do it! I've looked into using EdgeNGramFilter, and I realise that I'd have to run the filter on the index fields and get the tokens out and then compare them against the inputted Query... I'm just struggling to make the connection between the two into a bit of code, so help is much appreciated! To be clear on what I'm looking for (I realised I wasn't being overly clear, sorry) - I'm looking for a solution where when searching for a term, it'd return a list of suggested queries. When typing 'inter' into the search field, it'll come back with a list of suggested queries, such as 'internet', 'international', etc.

• PHP require/include only works once in script then fails

  Hi everybody, this isn't a problem as such but it's bugging me and I would appreciate any help. It might be totally obvious but I can't see it. $root_path = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] require($root_path .'template/header.php') require($root_path .'template/footer.php') The script will include one or the other but not both. It will run and include the header but not the footer, if I swap them round it will load the footer first but not the header. I've tried using include instead of require but get the same result. It gives the error allow_url_include = 0. I know turning this on will solve it but my question is why is it happening? Why will it include one file but not the other? Is there any way to get them to both run without turning allow_url_include on (I'm trying to be security conscious). I have PHP 5.3 and am running WAMP. Thanks in advance for your help!

  We are working on clean-up and analysis of a lot of human-entered customer data. We need to decide programmatically whether 2 addresses (for example) are the same, even though the data was entered with slight variations. Right now we run each address through fairly simplistic string replacement (replacing avenue with ave, for example), concatenate the fields and compare the results. We are doing something similar with names. At the very least, it seems like our list of search-replace values should already exist somewhere. Or perhaps you can suggest a totally different and superior way to detect matches?

  Hi all, I'm tasked with evaluating an "enterprise" platform for the next-gen version of a product. We're currently considering two "types" of platforms - RAD (workflow engine, integrated UI, small cores of "technology plugins" to the workflows, automatic persisting of state...) like SalesForce.com / Service-Now.com and "cloud based" (EC2 / AppEngine...). While I have a few ideas on where to start, I'd like your opinions - how would you evaluate platforms for an enterprise suite of products? What factors would you consider? How would you eliminate weak options quickly enough to be able to concentrate on the few strong ones? Also interesting is how would you compare enterprise RAD (proven technology, quick to develop - but tends to look "the same as the competition") to cloud-based technology (lots of "buzz", not that many competitors - easy to justify to management, but probably lacking (?) enterprise tools and experience). As said before - I have a few ideas, but would like to see some answers before I post mine so I wouldn't drive the discussion to a specific place. RB.

  I want to remove all special characters from a string. Allowed characters are A-Z (uppercase or lowercase), numbers (0-9), underscore (_), or the dot sign (.). We'd like now to expose all or some of the services to the public, so that anybody can take advantage of our engine, but without spending too much as we rae running low on budget. At the moment we have developed some RSS interfaces for the public catalogs and is possible to use JQuery to query the engine. Do you have any advices on how to proceed here? We were thinking about something simple like framset, using openID like authentication, or similar technologies. Even if can be the coolest solution, we a would like to avoid the develop soap, rest or xmlrpc APIs as it takes a lot of time ( =money ) Do you have any super smart ideas?

  Hi, i was just asked today, but i couldn't answer precisely so that's why i'm asking here :-) There is any book about Firewall design and implementations (Unix environment and C)? For sure, i could recommend TCP/IP books, and what i did, but there is some design decisions, that are not related with TCP/IP. For sure, i said about the netfilter/iptables (RTFSC) but as well we cannot assume that the netfilter/iptables is the best approach since we don't have too many baselines (ok, we could compare it with PF, but again, read source code to understand design decisions is not always the best way). So if anybody knows a book about this theme, please shoot it!
