  I have one upstream server and 17 downstream (configured as replicas). I'm getting this error in one of them and I'm stuck: "An error occurred with the server's data store". Details: SqlException: Timeout expired. • [Resolved] Finishing the install of php-xmlrpc on a VPS

  Hi, please help if possible: 1) I was able to completely install php-xmlrpc on a different VPS which uses lxAdmin control panel, without even needing to rebuild php. 2) On a VPS with Direct Admin, I followed detailed instructions (found at the DA site), this included rebuilding php, and after reboot, xml/rpc still doesn't show up in phpinfo.php. Details: centOS 5.3 php5.2.10 php-xmlrpc is installed on the VPS, and the installation "success" was confirmed at the time. Several days later, PHP was rebuilt following detailed instructions (for adding extra modules) provided by direct admin at their site. In the end, xml/rpc still doesn't show up in phpinfo.php. Anyone know how to make this work with Direct Admin? Thank you.

• Vista Startup Repair cannot repair my Toshiba Laptop (L300D)

  I installed some updates, and now the computer doesn't boot up, it just keep's telling me to go to repair, which doesn't fix the problem. I see the BSOD on startup, but it flashes by too quick.   Do we have multiple language support with Wireshark. We are using Windows Xp SP2 and Ubuntu Linux environment. Actually we have a plugin which is UDP based and we have a requirement to Analyse the Information in Packet List Pane and Packet Details Pane to be viewed in other languages like French, German, Italian etc ... So is it possible with Wireshark version - 1.2.0. For e.g. Can we also have all the Menu Items etc ... all text in Wireshark which is there in English to be seen in French, German and Italian.

• Why do I get error 0x0070004 when trying to update to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8?

  So, I'm trying to update Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 via the Windows Store, but every time I attempt to, the update downloads properly, but then I get the error: Windows 8.1 This app wasn't installed - view details When I click on it, it says: Something happened and the Windows 8.1 could not be installed. Please try again. Error code: 0x80070004 Try again Cancel Install What does this mean? A quick Google search yields nothing. I have tried rebooting, clearing the store cache, and resetting Windows Update. A quick chkdsk scan shows no errors. • Luminis and Google Apps Single Sign On

  We are a community college that is plodding forward with a Google Apps for Education implementation. There is support for Single Sign On and a fair amount of documentation for implementing it. We are looking to provide integration with our portal which is currently Luminis 3 (we are upgrading to Luminis 4 within a year). There is documentation available for Luminis specific integration, but apparently it is by request only. I have put the request in to SungardHE (where we license Luminis) and am waiting for a response. My questions are as follows... Is anyone here running Luminis? Have you tried to integrate it with a 3rd party email service like Google Apps for Education or Microsoft LiveEDU? If so, can you elaborate on implementation details above and beyond your Luminis installation and Google Apps setup? Looking for more of a general road map and differences between integration options with Luminis 3 and Luminis 4. Thanks!

• Unable to connect to Adobe Connect

  I am having troubles trying to connect my colleges Adobe Connect. I have done the test meeting connection and it will say "Unable to connect". I have tried connecting on 3 other computers and it works with flying colors. I am running Norton 360 on my computer and I also tried it on my other laptop thats also running Norton 360 and it works on that laptop. I also checked my hosts file and that is not the problem because I am able to connect to the server (on port 80) but not the Adobe Connect port (port 1935). The only thing in it is "127.0.0.1 localhost" Here are the details from the log that the test created: Player Version: WIN 11,3,300,271 App-Server returned: code:ok, servers=rtmp://connect.bowvalleycollege.ca:1935/_rtmp://localhost:8506/,rtmpt://connect.bowvalleycollege.ca:443/_rtmp://localhost:8506/ ERROR: FMS Server did not return correctly! Here is my specifications: Windows 7 SP1 x64 Norton 360 v6.3 (latest) It won't connect in Firefox v15, Chrome v19, or IE9 All of my computers are connected through the same router (D-Link DIR-625) Any ideas?

• RDP from domain workstation to non-domain workstation via VPN

  I am trying to RDP from a domain computer to a non-domain computer over a VPN. I created a rdp profile for a specified user (for example user name: USERX) with the option to save the password. I am able to establish the connection the first time by entering in the password. However, from that point on, whenever the RDP link is reestablished, it would state that my login details were incorrect and ask me re-type the password for COMP\USERX. Problem is, I don't have a domain called COMP and the password would fail even if reentered. The only way I can reestablish the connection is by choosing the option to login as another user.

• Help setting up NSD daemon (DNS server)

  While searching for a secure dns server I came across the NSD project. I was really impressed by what seemed to me the best option out there that's open source. One problem thought their 'tutorial' is really not beginner friendly. I have basic DNS knoledge but what's in there is out of my league. I need to have multiple sites on this CentOS server I've recently got my hands on. They also need to receive email. Details: I have a master host and would love to set this in the way described in the rows that follow: masterhost.com -> ns1.masterhost.com mail.masterhost.com www.masterhost.com addonhost.com -> ns1.masterhost.com mail.masterhost.com www.addonhost.com And so on. MAMP PRO is an excellent solution, but some guys don't suggest to use it for serving external requests. Could you explain why it is bad (in details if possible) and how to make it secure enough to be a full-scale and not-only-local webserver? Is there a better solution? Update There is a discussion on the MAMP website. XAMPP developers say that one can make their product secure: The default configuration is not good from a securtiy point of view and it's not secure enough for a production environment - please don't use XAMPP in such environment. Since LAMPP 0.9.5 you can make your XAMPP installation secure by calling »/opt/lampp/lampp security«. Could you comment it?

• Is there a taskbar for OS X?

  I'd like to permanently see a clickable list of windows I have open, in the same way that the taskbar allows in Windows. Can I do this on Mac? Some details: i have many virtual desktops (spaces), so often a single application has windows on many of them. I often have multiple windows of each application, such as the terminal or browser, on the same virtual desktop I have multiple monitors, if it matters. Edit: When I say 'permanently see a clickable list of windows I have open' I mean that I want to see every window I have open, and I'd like to be able to click on each one to open that window. I'm not looking for the newer behaviour where tasks are clustered by application.

• Windows 8.1 killed notebook's wifi

  Was running Windows 8 on a Lenovo G780 and updated to windows 8.1 Wifi does not work anymore, i always receive a dns server not responding error. I have tried using public dns servers from Google but with still no results. I've restarted my router with no results. All other devices on my network are having no trouble at all. I've tried updating the wireless driver but the manufacturers website claims that the Win8.1 driver should be updated with the update from windows. So i cant find a wireless driver... Anyone else having this error and does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?? Referred these: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Amavisd http://wiki.centos.org/PackageManagement/Yum/Priorities Now I have a linux RHEL machine, details are as follows: (Linux version 2.6.18-164.6.1.el5 ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-46)) x86_64 GNU/Linux Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.5 (Tikanga)) I want to set up the above mentioned software's on this(RHEL) machine, for that I do (as per the reference link): install yum-priorities but i am unable to install this on my said machine, because the default yum repository provided by RHEL doesn't contain this. • How to get headphones and speakers working at the same time?

  I have a Gigabyte P55-UD3 motherboard which comes with a Realtek sound card and audio header for the front panel. My headset is permanently connected to the front panel (mic in, headphones in) and I also have speakers connected at the rear of the computer. What I want to achieve is that both the headphones and the speakers work at the same time. On my old PC with Realtek, I was able to do this by clicking "Device advanced settings" in the Realtek HD Audio Manager and then clicking "Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously" and then doing some reassigning of front/rear settings in the Realtek Audio Manager (can't remember the details). But that doesn't seem to be working now - either the speakers play sounds or the headphones, not both at the same time. To pose the question differently, Windows plays the sounds on the "default device". I'd like to make both headphones and the speakers kind of like the default devices.

  I would like to use Selenium to test a web application but in order to do that successfully the tests must be run against a database at a known state. The recording and running of the Selenium tests is not within the scope of this website so I'm only looking for recommendations on how best to revert the database after each test execution. Some details: current database size is 30GB however only about 4GB needs to be reverted database is Oracle 11g Standard Edition running on Windows Server 2003 the data in 6 different schemas needs to be reverted Ideally the process should be scripted so that it can be re-executed frequently and automatically via a scheduled task.

• SMTP Server Times Out for 1 of 2 ISPs

  For months I've been using a 5g sprint card for my laptop to check email. I have gmail, and three other accounts all configured in Thunderbird. Recently, I got AT&T internet service at my house and I discovered that I cannot send email when connected to my home service. I can receive just fine, but I can't send. If I plugin my 5g card, I can sent/receive with no problems. At home I'm connected wirelessly through a router. What could be causing this interruption? I even tried pinging my smtp server only to see it timeout when connected via AT&T. If more details are needed, I'll be happy to share.

• Windows 7: app crashing/hanging on "save as" dialog

  now this is really annoying - I'm having a global problem in Windows 7: when using the system's "save as"-file dialog, the main app will just hang. the mouse-cursor is showing progress, the whole app is hanging and I need to terminate it manually. it's happening with every app! (notepad, word, graphics app). I'm assuming it's something with the system enumerating the harddisk-drivenames or something. any idea how to fix this? by the way - when viewing the problem details - it's telling the module - it's msonsext.dll, looks like some office thing to me.

  Conversations in GMail are such an incredibly simple yet powerful way to look at mail. I get about twenty emails a day from various clients and I hate looking at a flat file of all emails, and I hate looking at "per client" email folders. With GMail I can just look at a specific conversation. I can see a few lines from each in the collapsed titles so that I can quickly remember what was said previously, and I can expand them if I need details or need to quote something. But I can't justify using GMail to handle sensitive work emails, and we need to be able to access all my emails offline. So what do I use?

• Can single ESXi host make use of two separete iSCSI box?

I have problem with using multiply iSCSI targets with single ESXi host (in my case they are two FreeNAS hosts, but I suspect that this problem will occur with any two iSCSI box of that same type/model). If I configure two FreeNAS hosts as iSCSI targets (say iSCSI A and iSCSI B), then I can use both of them with my ESXi host, but only one at a time (i.e only iSCSI A or only iSCSI B, but not both of them simultaneously). If I try to add second iSCSI target to my iSCSI adapter (of course it has unique iqn name), then in a details pane of this adapter (it is iSCSI software adapter), I see that total number of paths has increased accordingly, but not total number of devices (so I can't use it as another storage). What should I do? It is impossible to attach two iSCSI targets to single adapter? I'm using free version of ESXi 4.1. Maybe it is an limitation of free version? Thanks in advance for any sugestion.

• VMware Server Guest OS Random Shutdown

  Anyone encounter a problem in which the Guest OS in VMware Server randomly shuts down? This has happened about once a month, where VMware Server just shuts down ALL guests OS. The host machine is fine, and you can log into the web management of VMware Server, it's just all guest OS get shutdown with no apparent reason. Even the logs say vmware guest os so and so was shut down, but no details why. This is not just one one machine, we have VMware server installed on three different PowerEdge servers and they all have encounter the same problem. We've tripped checked all settings and nothing is out of the ordinary.

• Forward Shibboleth Environment Variables to Tomcat via Apache

  I am using Shibbolethv2.3 with Apache web server and Tomcat application server. I am using Apache as a reverse proxy using mod_proxy.so. I am not able to forward the Shibboleth environment variables from Apache to Tomcat. I am able to forward the attributes in the headers but as already mentioned in the wiki this approach is not safe. I have tried forwarding the environment variables by the following directive : SetEnv AJP_username ${username} then at the Java side I can access the attribute by : request.getAttribute("username"); The strange thing here is that, I get a different value instead of the one set by Shibboleth. I get the Windows account name as a result. If I use any other attribute name, I get a null value. I have searched a lot and have run out of options. Please guide me towards the right solution. My setup details : Shibboleth version : 2.3 OS : Windows XP SP3 Webserver : Apache 2.2 Application Server : Tomcat 6 Proxy module : mod_proxy.so

• ASP.NET Security Exception when Switch IIS7 to Use UNC Path for Content

  I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 box running IIS7.5 with Medium Trust configured for ASP.NET. When I have the website running from local content (e.g.: c:\inetpub\wwwroot) everything works fine. When I change IIS to use a UNC path for the content (e.g.: \\computer\wwwroot) I get the following error: Security Exception Description: The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy. To grant this application the required permission please contact your system administrator or change the application's trust level in the configuration file. Exception Details: System.Security.SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. I'm trying to figure out why ASP.NET/IIS would allow for the SQL call when using local content but not when using a UNC path. Any ideas what I need to do to use a UNC path from IIS7 properly?
