• SQL Agent Logon - What is going on?

  I have a DTSX package that is called from a SQL Agent Job. The DTSX package references a file at a fixed location (e.g. e:\mssql\myfile.txt). On most machines, this location exists, but on some I have to manually map this (which is not a problem - I know a better solution would be to use package conifgurations to dynamically pull the file location, but this is not an option here - and anyway I'd like to understand what is going on) I have set up the agent service to run as a specific user (e.g. myuser) When I log on as this user and map the directory, then run the dtsx package directly, then all goes well. When I run the package through a SQL Agent Job, the file cannot be found. If I add a command line job step to the agent job to map the drive: net use e: \\svr\location Then all works file also. So what is going on in the backgound? How come the SQL Agent user requries the drive mapping even when I am logged in as this user.

• SqlBackup from my client app

  I have an client app that runs on several machines, and connects to a single SQL database. On the client app, the user has the possiblity to use a local SQL (CE) database or connect to a remote SQL database. There is also a box where a backup location can be set. For the backup of the remote SQL database I use the following code: var bdi = new BackupDeviceItem(backupFile, DeviceType.File); var backup = new Backup { Database = "AppDb", Initialize = true }; backup.Devices.Add(bdi); var server = new Server(connection); backup.SqlBackup(server); When developing my application, I wasn't aware that the given backupFile is written on the machine where the SQL server runs! And not on the client machine. What I want is "dump" all the data from my database to a local file. (Why? Because users may enter a network location in the "backup location" box, and backing up SQL immediately to a network location fails. So need to write local first and then copy to the network in that case.) I there an alternative to the method above?

  Hi folks, I want to fetch data from the LinkedIn API for that I am using the Scribe library.All requests are giving me data as expected but when I tried two facet in the url then scribe is not able to get data from LinkedIn API.   I was setting up permissions for pages in a ASP.NET website with <location> tags in web.config, something similar to this: <location path="Users.aspx"> <system.web> <authorization> <allow roles="Administrator"/> <deny users="*"/> </authorization> </system.web> </location> However, I also have a web.sitemap which basically contains the same information, i.e. which user roles can see/access which pages. A snippet from my web.sitemap: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <siteMap xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/AspNet/SiteMap-File-1.0" > <siteMapNode title="Home"> ... lots of nodes here ... <siteMapNode url="users.aspx" roles="Administrator" title="users" description="Edit users" /> ... </siteMapNode> </siteMap> Is there some kind of nifty way of using web.sitemap only to configure access? The <location> tags are quite verbose, and I don't like having to duplicate this information.

• Using boost::random as the RNG for std::random_shuffle

  I have a program that uses the mt19937 random number generator from boost::random. I need to do a random_shuffle and want the random numbers generated for this to be from this shared state so that they can be deterministic with respect to the mersenne twister's previously generated numbers. I tried something like this: void foo(std::vector<unsigned> &vec, boost::mt19937 &state) { struct bar { boost::mt19937 &_state; unsigned operator()(unsigned i) { boost::uniform_int<> rng(0, i - 1); return rng(_state); } bar(boost::mt19937 &state) : _state(state) {} } rand(state); std::random_shuffle(vec.begin(), vec.end(), rand); } But i get a template error calling random_shuffle with rand. However this works: unsigned bar(unsigned i) { boost::mt19937 no_state; boost::uniform_int<> rng(0, i - 1); return rng(no_state); } void foo(std::vector<unsigned> &vec, boost::mt19937 &state) { std::random_shuffle(vec.begin(), vec.end(), bar); } Probably because it is an actual function call. But obviously this doesn't keep the state from the original mersenne twister. What gives? Is there any way to do what I'm trying to do without global variables?

  Before I start: I'm programming for Iphone, using objective C. I have already implemented a call to a web service function using NSURLRequest and NSURLConnection. The function then returns a XML with the info I need. The code is as follows: NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://myWebService/function"]; NSMutableURLRequest theRequest = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] initWithURL:url]; NSURLConnection theConnection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self]; i also implemented the methods didRecieveResponse didRecieveAuthenticationChallenge didRecievedData didFailWithError connectionDidFinishLoading. And it works perfectly. Now I need to send 2 parameters to the function: "location" and "module". I tried using the following modification: NSMutableURLRequest theRequest = [[NSMutableURLRequest alloc] initWithURL:url]; [theRequest setValue:@"USA" forHTTPHeaderField:@"location"]; [theRequest setValue:@"DEVELOPMENT" forHTTPHeaderField:@"module"]; NSURLConnection theConnection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:theRequest delegate:self]; But it doesn't seem to work. I'm doing something wrong? is there a way to know if I'm using the wrong names for the parameters (as maybe it is "Location" or "LOCATION" or it doesn't matter?)? or a way to know which parameters is the function waiting for... Extra info: I don't have access to the source of the web service so I can't modify it. But I can access the WSDL. The person who made the function say is all there... but I can't make any sense of it .< Any help would be appreciated. :)

  I'm using java mail api 1.4.1 to obtain new emails. Two classes are being used to obtain emails and then parsing it. "GetMail" class communicates with mail server(Gmail,yahoo etc) and obtains the message object. Then the message object is passed to yet another class "MailFormatter" class, which then parses the message object, obtains the email headers (From,To,Subject etc) and then it parses the Multipart content to obtain the main body and attachments.Since both "Mail getting" and "Mail formatting" process are very resource intensive, these classes are going to be implemented as separate web applications.This application is going to monitor new emails for numerous email ids.If these ("GetMail" and "MailFormatter") are implemented as separate web applications, how can I pass the message object from "GetMail" app to "MailFormatter" app ? Is there a way through which I can persist the obtained message object in a certain location (a location which is common to both "GetMail" and "MailFormatter" applications), so that "GetMail" can persist the message object in that location, and then "MailFormatter" app can read "Message" objects from that location and carry out the parsing process. Message objects cannot be serialized. If they cannot be serialized how can I persist the state of java mail message object? please do help me to resolve this issue.

  This questions involves 2 different implementations of essentially the same code. First, using delegate to create a Comparison method that can be used as a parameter when sorting a collection of objects: class Foo { public static Comparison<Foo> BarComparison = delegate(Foo foo1, Foo foo2) { return foo1.Bar.CompareTo(foo2.Bar); }; } I use the above when I want to have a way of sorting a collection of Foo objects in a different way than my CompareTo function offers. For example: List<Foo> fooList = new List<Foo>(); fooList.Sort(BarComparison); Second, using IComparer: public class BarComparer : IComparer<Foo> { public int Compare(Foo foo1, Foo foo2) { return foo1.Bar.CompareTo(foo2.Bar); } } I use the above when I want to do a binary search for a Foo object in a collection of Foo objects. For example: BarComparer comparer = new BarComparer(); List<Foo> fooList = new List<Foo>(); Foo foo = new Foo(); int index = fooList.BinarySearch(foo, comparer); My questions are: What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of these implementations? What are some more ways to take advantage of each of these implementations? Is there a way to combine these implementations in such a way that I do not need to duplicate the code? Can I achieve both a binary search and an alternative collection sort using only 1 of these implementations?

However, it will fail retrieving those keys that are located at deeper levels. If we add a new record: db.things.insert({foo: {bar: {baaar: true}}}) And we run again the map-reduce +distinct snippet above, we will get: [ "_id", "egg", "foo", "hello", "type" ] But we will not get the bar and the baaar keys, which are nested down in the data structure. The question is: how do I retrieve all keys, no matter their level of depth? Ideally, I would actually like the script to walk down to all level of depth, producing an output such as: ["_id","egg","foo","foo.bar","foo.bar.baaar","hello","type"] Thank you in advance!

  I'm having a trouble to get Geolocation working on Android in both emulator (even when I geo fix over telnet) and on device. Works on iOS, WP8 and in the browser. • qTip jQuery Plugin not always Firing

  Hi, I am using the qTip jquery plugin qTip plugin for a website I'm working on based on another thread I raised here: stack overflow thread My question is, I have a navigation bar running along the top of my screen which is basically sets the title attribute based on the tab menu you are in, these are all stored within a javascript array. For example, I have three menu options running along the top of the screen, say Menu A, Menu B and Menu C. I also have an information image positioned at the rightmost position of the nav bar, which I set the title attribute, based on the Menu option selected in the Nav Bar. For example: Menu A => myRole[0] = "Admin" Menu B => myRole[1] = "Manager" Menu C => myRole[2] = "Guest" So basically as the user clicks on each of the menus in the nav bar, I set the title attribute in the information image to either "Admin","Manager" or "Guest". At startup, the qTip plugin works and displays "Admin" when I hover over it but when I change the menu to Menu C, it still displays "Admin" instead of "Guest" From the looks of it, it doesn't seem to be calling the qTip plugin, which I have positioned at the footer of the screen (see actual code below).   I've got a map with three bar buttons for different markers to show up in the map. If I click on a bar button, the specific markers are shown in the map, which already works great. Now I would like to show a transparent overlay (popup window) with the description of the markers after I clicked on a bar button with a button to close the overlay again and show the markers (which are set in the background). Add RouteDescriptionView as a subview RouteDescriptionViewController *routeDescriptionView = [[RouteDescriptionViewController alloc] init]; [self.view addSubview:routeDescriptionView.view]; [routeDescriptionView release]; Works great as well, but the problem here is: I can't configure a close button on the subview to close/remove the subview (RouteDescriptionView). 3. Using UIAlertView Would work as expected, but the UIAlert is not really customizable and therefore not suitable for my needs. Any ideas how to achieve this?

• ArrayAccess multidimensional (un)set?

  I have a class implementing ArrayAccess and I'm trying to get it to work with a multidimensional array. exists and get work. set and unset are giving me a problem though. class ArrayTest implements ArrayAccess { private $_arr = array( 'test' => array( 'bar' => 1, 'baz' => 2 ) ); public function offsetExists($name) { return isset($this->_arr[$name]); } public function offsetSet($name, $value) { $this->_arr[$name] = $value; } public function offsetGet($name) { return $this->_arr[$name]; } public function offsetUnset($name) { unset($this->_arr[$name]); } } $arrTest = new ArrayTest(); isset($arrTest['test']['bar']); // Returns TRUE echo $arrTest['test']['baz']; // Echo's 2 unset($arrTest['test']['bar']; // Error $arrTest['test']['bar'] = 5; // Error I know $_arr could just be made public so you could access it directly, but for my implementation it's not desired and is private. The last 2 lines throw an error: Notice: Indirect modification of overloaded element. I know ArrayAccess just generally doesn't work with multidimensional arrays, but is there anyway around this or any somewhat clean implementation that will allow the desired functionality? The best idea I could come up with is using a character as a separator and testing for it in set and unset and acting accordingly. Though this gets really ugly really fast if you're dealing with a variable depth. Does anyone know why exists and get work so as to maybe copy over the functionality?   Base Knowledge : I have a .crt file ( certification authoritie file ) and he is composed of many fields but in one line that resumes this question i have this : Certificate: ...(alot of stuff before)... Subject: C=US, ST=Maryland, L=Pasadena, O=Brent Baccala, OU=FreeSoft, CN=www.freesoft.org/[email protected] Subject Public Key Info: ...(alot of stuff after) and i need to parse the file to populate a .csv file and i have that done the problem that i need help is, i need to get the field: CN=www.fresoft.org but when i get this kind of CN=...(Value instead of the ...) with alot of slashes i get a error in the parsing like the raw string is: CN=foo/bar/the/hell/emailAddress=blablabla and i need only: foo/bar/the/hell and for a moment i got that in the correct column but when i dont have the emailAddress something just fail in my parsing and i then get in my CN .csv column the information wrong instead of |CN| foo/bar/the/hell i get: |CN| OU=FreeSoft, foo/bar/the/hell. • Python subprocess: 64 bit windows server PIPE doesn't exist :(

  I have a GUI that launches selected python scripts and runs it in cmd next to the gui window. I am able to get my launcher to work on my (windows xp 32 bit) laptop but when I upload it to the server(64bit windows iss7) I am running into some issues. The script runs, to my knowledge but spits back no information into the cmd window. My script is a bit of a Frankenstein that I have hacked and slashed together to get it to work I am fairly certain that this is a very bad example of the subprocess module. Just wondering if i could get a hand :). • jQuery .trigger() or $(window) not working in Google Chrome

  I have this jQuery ajax navigation tabs plugin that I created using some help from CSS-Tricks.com and the jQuery hashchange event plugin (detects hash changes in browsers that don't support it). The code is little long to post it here but it goes something like this: Part 1) When a tab is clicked, it gets the href attribute of that tab and add it to the browsers navigation bar like '#tab_name': window.location.hash = $(this).attr("href"); Part 2) When the navigation bar changes (hash change), it gets the href change like this: window.location.hash.substring(1); (substring is to get only 'tab_name' without the '#'), and then call the ajax function to get the info to display. I want to automatically trigger the plugin to load the first tab when the page is accessed, so at the start of the code I put: if (window.location.hash === '') { // If no '#' is in the browser navigation bar window.location.hash = '#tab_1'; // Add #tab_1 to the navigation bar $(window).trigger('hashchange'); // Trigger a hashchange so 'Part 2' of the plugin calls the ajax function using the '#tab_1' added } The probles is that it works in FF but not in Chrome, I mean, everything works but it seems like the $(window).trigger('hashchange'); is not working because it doesnt get the first tab.. Any suggestions??

  Here's my simplified domain public class Notification { public Guid ID { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public IEnumerable<Location> Locations { get; set; } } public class Location { public Guid Id { get; set; } public string Name { get; set; } public decimal Longitude { get; set; } public decimal Latitude { get; set; } } Notifications and Locations have a many-to-many relationship (defined in table LocationsOnNotification). What I'd like to do is query for the nearest 10 Notifications from a given longitude and latitude. I've been trying to use ICriteria, but I'm not sure how to specify the ordering correctly: return Session.CreateCriteria<Notification>() .SetFirstResult(firstIndex) .SetMaxResults(maxResults) .AddOrder(Order.Asc( WHAT GOES HERE! )) .List<Notification>(); What I've been thinking of so far is adding a formula property to the Location mapping; something like this: <property name='Distance' formula='lots of geometry'/> But I'm not sure if that can take in parameters (since I'd need to pass in the user's location to calculate the distance), plus I'm not sure how to specify it in the Order.Asc clause given that it's a property on a many-to-many association class. Any ideas? Or perhaps I should take a different approach altogether. Thanks in advance!
