  • What does it mean when git says a file "needs update"?

    I can't for the life of me find any decent explanation of the "[file]: needs update" message that git sometimes spits out from time to time. Even the official git FAQ has explaining this marked as a TODO. If someone could explain A) what it means; and B) how to fix it, I would be extremely grateful.

    I attempted to add a ADO.NET Entity Data Model to my Visual Web Developer 2010 Express project and it generates but returns a whole slew of errors. Why is this generating errors? Here are the main errors: 'Public Property ID As Integer' has multiple definitions with identical signatures. Method 'Onaddress_IDChanging' cannot be declared 'Partial' because only one method 'Onaddress_IDChanging' can be marked 'Partial'. '_line1' is already declared as 'Private _line1 As String' in this class.

The problem is i want to maintain the old classes marked with Obsolete to avoid running all my projects and check if they using it.     Hi All, I have an attribute that I have written that has a dependency on the Data Access Layer so I made a constructor that took the DAL class as a parameter (marked with [DefaultConstructor] and another, blank, constructor that is parameterless.   • WCF service and COM interop callback

    I have a COM object that creates an instance of a WCF service and passes a handle to itself as a callback. The com object is marked/initialized as MTA. The problem being every instance of the WCF service that makes a call to the callback occurs on the same thread so they are being processed one at a time which is causing session timeouts under a heavy load. The WCF service is session based not sure if that makes any difference.

    I have a populated gridview that consist of template fields. I would like to find/check a certain number of cells using values of rows and columns. Eg: |Time|col1|col2|col3|col4|col5| |1200|------|-----|-----|------|-----| |1300|------| -X- |-----|------|-----| |1400|------|-----|-----|------|-----| lets say i have the value "1300" for the row and the column header text "col2", I would like to find the cell marked "X" and check for some condition and change the text if necessary (col1 - col5 are template fields made up of labels and buttons, so therefore base on certain conditions i would like to show/hide the labels/buttons or change the text for the labels) Thanks

    Hi, In entity framework is there a way to have a default value for a column such that Linq to Entity won't require this parameter when constructing a new object? For example I've marked on column in the EF designer with a default value (I typed in "All" as it was a string). But if I try to construct a new record and not specify this parameter I still get a FOREIGN KEY constraint exception. The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_FunctionalityTypeInterfaceRelationship"

  • why do i see THROW in a C library

    When I do: less /usr/include/stdio.h (which is only a C library - nothing to do with C++) I see __THROW after quite a few function declarations. Also, comments above a few functions say that 'This function is a possible cancellation point and therefore not marked with __THROW' What is all this for? THROW is meant to be for exception handling.. but as far as I know, C doesn't provide any support for it... Plz explain.

    I am pulling back to the basic schema questions in Tridion 2011. I have an embedded schema with three optional fields and I referred this schema in a content schema and marked it as mandatory. When I create a component and save it without entering data to this mandatory field; CME is not throwing any exception and proceeds with saving.     I am trying to write a macro which calls cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function on each and every tag in a file displayed in the *Tags List* buffer (created by list-tags command). This should create a buffer which contains list of all functions calling a set of functions defined in a certain file. This is the sequence of keystrokes: 1. <f11> ;; cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function 2. RET ;; newline [shows results of cscope in a split window] 3. C-x C-p ;; mark-page 4. C-x C-x ;; icicle-exchange-point-and-mark 5. <up> ;; previous-line 6. <end> ;; end-of-line [region to copy has been marked] 7. <f7> ;; append-results-to-buffer 8. C-x ESC O ;; [move back to split window on the right] 9. C-x b ;; icicle-buffer [Switch back to *Tags List* buffer] 10. *Tags ;; self-insert-command * 5 11. SPC ;; self-insert-command 12. List* ;; self-insert-command * 5 13. RET ;; newline 14 . <down> ;; next-line [Position point on next tag in the list] Problem: I get no results in the buffer, and I found out that's because Step 3-7 execute even before cscope prints the results of query made on Steps 1-2. I can insert a pause in the macro by using C-x q, but I'd rather like the macro to wait after Step 2, until cscope has returned with the results and only then continue further. I suspect this is not possible through a macro, maybe a LISP function... I'm not a lisp expert myself. Can someone please help? Thanks! Details: I have Icicles installed so by default I get word at point in current buffer as input in minibuffer. F11 is bound to cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function windmove is installed and C-x (C-x ESC o - as shown below) takes you to the right window. F7 is bound to append-results-to-buffer which is defined as: (defun append-results-to-buffer () (interactive) (append-to-buffer (get-buffer-create "c1") (point) (mark))) This function just appends the currently marked region to a buffer named "c1".

    I have a Contextmenu with a ListBox inside. Whenever I right click my control and select a value from my contextmenu the last selected value stays marked and I can't select that value again.     Hi all, for a project we will be doing webbased certificate enrollment, in Vista / Win7 combination with IE this gives some problems if the user does not import the root certificate first and then changes a lot of default IE settings (Enable ActiveX not marked safe for scripting etc....). I was wondering if any of you ever created a test VB or Javascript to test that all the settings are OK. So it can be used by the user before he starts the enrollment process.... greetings, Tim

    Hi, In a DataGridView, it is possible to set an individual DataGridViewCell like this: dataGridView.Item(columnIndex, rowIndex) = New DataGridViewTextBoxCell. However, is the new DataGridViewCell is set before his owning column become visible, it seems that the individual cell will be replaced (or marked?) by the column default cell.
