    The only way I know how to open the Select Users, Computers, Service Accounts or Groups is by right clicking on a folder and selecting Properties - Security Tab - Edit - Advanced. Below is a screen shot of the window I want to access: Is there any other way to view the full list (Find Now)? I am writing documentation and I want the user to check if a user exists before creating it. I would ideally like them to access this via control panel or similar.

After clicking the link, it shows a message saying "Unable to access the computer EMACHINES-PC. The error was: Library not registered." What could have caused this, and how can I fix it? The computer running DPM crashed and is not allowing me to restore the backup. However, i still have all the backups as partitions. Now I want to open a particular port (say 80) for an instance running in account A, to account B. ie, I want to only allow account B instances, to access account A's 80 port.   • Empty "Groups" in People Picker Navigation Controller

    I'm using the standard People Picker Navigation Controller to let users associate one of their contacts with one of my objects. It presents itself as a long list of ALL contacts. The back button (top left) says "Groups" but when clicked on it shows an empty screen...even when there are many Groups in the user's address book. I've read through the docs and can't seem to find how to populate the Groups area. Here's how I present the people picker. Fairly standard: - (IBAction)showPicker:(id)sender { ABPeoplePickerNavigationController *picker = [[ABPeoplePickerNavigationController alloc] init]; picker.peoplePickerDelegate = self; [self presentModalViewController:picker animated:YES]; [picker release]; } What am I missing?

I was wondering how I could check multiple groups to see if the user belongs to either, if they belong to either. I don't know if user_ingroup($username,$group,$recursive=NULL); can handle search two different groups for the user, need help coding it to search for the user in two different groups, and as soon as it finds it in one of those, break the operation and set a variable to true. Any help is appreciated.

    In the context of "Keys and Entity Groups" article by google: http://code.google.com/appengine/docs/python/datastore/transactions.html 1) "Only use entity groups when they are needed for transactions" 2) "Every entity belongs to an entity group, a set of one or more entities that can be manipulated in a single transaction." It seems like entity groups exist only for the use of transactions, i.e. making one transaction possible between all entities in a group. My question is then why are there parent-child relations between entities and not just a simple declaration of entities to be in a single group (that is defining A,B,C to be in the same group as opposed to defining relations between them "A (parent of) B, B (parent of C)"). What is the benefit from using parent-child relation model when the only purpose is for entities to be in the same group to make transaction possible? Thanks Joel

I would like to remove all the prices namely: SGD$45.32 Price: SGD$45.32 SGD$45 I have this expression thats supposed to match the 3 groups: $pattern = '/(Price.+\sSGD\$\d+\.\d{2})(SGD\$\d+\.\d{2})(SGD\$\d+)/'; $new_snippet = preg_replace($pattern, '', $snippet);` But apparently its not working. It works if I replace a single group at a time. But, I'd like to know if it possible to replace all possible matching groups with a single statement. Tried preg_match_all($pattern, $snippet, $matches); to show matches based on the above pattern, but no matches are found if I put all 3 groups together.

    Hi How can I extract the longest of groups which start the same way For example, from a given string, I want to extract the longest match to either CS or CSI. I tried this "(CS|CSI).*" and it it will return CS rather than CSI even if CSI is available. If I do "(CSI|CS).*" then I do get CSI if it's a match, so I gues the solution is to always place the shorter of the overlaping groups after the longer one. Is there a clearer way to express this with re's? somehow it feels confusing that the result depends on the order you link the groups.

  • samba joined to AD canot see users when in the security tab on client

    I've got samba joined via kerberos and winbindd to our AD network and user authentication and everything else is working great. However when I try to add users/groups to file permissions it tells me they are not found. All the users groups show up fine with getent so I'm not sure why they are not showing up.   • First tab doesnt show with Jquery UI Tabs using Cufon

    I'm using Cufon to render the font for my Jquery Tabs. A strange problem I'm finding is that with the first tab, the text isn't rendered. If I remove Cufon, the text is there, or if I remove jquery tabs (so that its just html list items) the text is there (properly rendered by cufon). There seems to be timing issue with the loading I think, where cufon renders the text, but then the jquery tabs css is applied, and perhaps they are 'breaking' each other.   • Navigation Controller with Tab Bar only on first view

    I am seeking advice on how to start my project. I need to use a combination of the navigation controller and tabbar controller but on the second screen, I need the tabbar controller not to be there. Here is a brief description of the two main screens Screen 1 will have a tabbar controller with two tabs. The first tab is a tableview and when you tap on a table cell, it drills down to Screen 2. The second tab is just a filter view that updates the table in the first tab of Screen 1. Screen two is just a details screen from the cells of Screen 1. The catch is that I don't want the TabBar on Screen 2. I am struggling with how to get started. Do I start with a Navigation-based application since I need to be able to drill down? How do I just add a tab bar to the main screen of the navigation based app? I can't start with a Tab Bar application because if I load a navigation controller inside one of the views of the tab controller, then when I drill down inside the nav controller, the tab bar still stays on the next screen when I need it to go away. Any help would be appreciated.

    I am needing to import a tab delimited text file that has 11 columns and an unknown number of rows (always minimum 3 rows). I would like to import this text file as an array and be able to call data from it as needed, throughout my project. And then, to make things more difficult, I need to replace items in the array, and even add more rows to it as the project goes on (all at runtime). Hopefully someone can suggest code corrections or useful methods. I'm hoping to use something like the array style sMyStrings(3,2), which I believe would be the easiest way to control my data.     I am looking for a MDI manager solution that allows documents to be grouped and show/hidden programmaticly. Example, 3 document types, red, yellow and green. When you click a button the MDI manager shows only the red documents by hiding the other 2 types tabs. None of the MDI managers (Actipro, Infragistics, etx) I have looked at can do this. They require all documents to be visible... Anyone know of a good solution for this in C#? Thanks, Jeff

I know how to authenticate users against Active Directory in Squid, and then how to filter access for users using SquidGuard. The question: how to use Active Directory groups in SquidGuard instead of plain user names? My goal is to be able to configure rules like "members of this group can go anywhere" or "members of this group can only visit certain sites". I know SquidGuard can't manage group membership directly, but it can do LDAP searches on its own; but the syntax to look up wheter a user is member of a given group seems to be quite cryptic, and I couldn't find any good documentation around.

    I'm trying to set up a folder in my home directory that will be shared with another user but for some reason it is not working this is what I've done, I have tried two different ways using ACL's and chown/chgrp etc I set up a group called say: sharedgroup and added both my user (john) and fred to it so when I run groups john john wheel sharedgroup groups fred sharedgroup fred mkdir /home/john/shared vim /home/john/shared/hello.txt (typed in some text saved it) chown -R :sharedgroup shared chmod -R o=-rwx shared ll drwxrwx--- 2 john sharedgroup 4096 Sep 9 21:14 shared ll shared -rw-rw-r-- 1 john sharedgroup 7 Sep 9 21:14 hello.txt (I also tried adding in the s permissions but that didn't help either) then when I log out of the server and log back in as fred and try these commands they fail vim /home/john/shared/hello.txt (won't allow me to write opens a blank file) cd /home/john/shared -bash: cd: /home/john/cis: Permission Denied ls /home/john/shared -ls: /home/john/shared: Permission Denied ls -lad /home/john/shared -ls: /home/john/shared: Permission Denied id fred uid=500(fred) gid=502(sharedgroup) groups=502(sharedgroup),500(fred) context=user_u:system_r:unconfined_t Any idea what I'm doing wrong??

  • Windows 2008 R2 File Sharing - 'Access denied' if groups are specified in ACL

    I am trying to move our old Windows 2003 File Server to Windows 2008 R2. What I have noticed, however, is that the entries for groups in the ACL are being ignored. For example, a user is part of a group in active directory. If I create a folder and enable full access for this group, then share this folder (and define sharing permissions for this group), users in that group do not get access to that folder. If I make an entry in the ACL for the user itself, it works perfectly. These even applies to my domain administrator account - If I create a folder and give full control to the local administrators group / domain administrators group, and I physically log on to the server, I still do not get access - I need to explicitly define my name to proceed. I am not sure what the problem is, tried looking it up in Google to no avail Any assistance will be greatly appreciated

    Is it possible to assign a security group in windows 2008 a specific DHCP scope? Meaning, let's say we have 2 groups, employees and managers in the superscope Company. Assuming that each user is distinctly in either group and there are no overlaps, would it be possible to assign members of the security group employees a dhcp address in the range 192.168.1.0/24 and managers 192.168.2.0/24 ?   • Sql Server 2008, Active Directory Groups, and Failed Logins

    I keep getting a Login Failed error in my ASP.net application when connecting to my SQL Server 2008 database. I am trying to login with the user domain\foo. When I grant a database login (server and database level) for domain\foo, my application can connect. When I put domain\foo in a group called domain/goo and give domain\goo a database login, the user domain\foo cannot authenticate. This does not make any sense. Am I doing something wrong? domain\foo and domain\goo are configured identically. The only difference is that on is a user and one is a group containing a user. Adding active directory groups as users to SQL Server 2008 is supposed to work.
