  • How do I change content of ComboFieldEditor?

    I want to change the values on one ComboFieldEditor depending on another ComboFieldEditor in an eclipse plugin. E.g. if the user changes the package, different classes need to be populated in the second ComboFieldEditor. The ComboFieldEditor class does not seem to to have a way to change the items on the fly.

  • "Compiling" content with short tags to var, without eval()

    To start off, let me clear the air by saying we are aware of the dis/advantages to using short tag syntax in PHP. That is not what this question is about. Is there a way to "include" a file containing short tag code, into a variable, and have PHP actually parse the code? include/require obviously do not provide the data in a workable form, and output buffering does not parse the short tag code because it happens at runtime. Using eval() is simply not an option. Suggestions?

  • Protecting Content with AuthLogic

    I know this sounds like a really, really simple use case and I'm hoping that it is, but I swear I've looked all over the place and haven't found any mention of any way - not even the best way - of doing this. I'm brand-spanking new to Ruby, Rails and everything surrounding either (which may explain a lot). The dummy app that I'm using as my learning tool requires authentication in order to do almost anything meaningful, so I chose to start by solving that problem. I've installed the AuthLogic gem and have it working nicely to the extent that is covered by the intro documentation and Railscast, but now that I can register, login and logout...I need to do something with it. As an example, I need to create a page where users can upload images. I'm planning to have an ImagesController with an upload action method, but I want that only accessible to logged in users. I suppose that in every restricted action I could add code to redirect if there's no current_user, but that seems really verbose. Is there a better way of doing this that allows me to define or identify restricted areas and handle the authentication check in one place?

  • Iphone - Displaying NSDate values in the debugger with local timezone

    Hello, I'm trying to debug my app and there is something very annoying in the debugger : all the NSDate values are displayed in the GMT timezone. So in my debugging process, I lose a lot of time converting by myself all the displayed dates to check if they are correct in the system timezone. As I have a lot of dates at midnight, even the day is displayed "wrong". It's a nightmare. Is there a way to make the debugger display the NSDate values in the iPhone system timezone (not the MacOS one nor GMT) ? I'm at GMT+1 Thank you for your help.

    I have what I though was a simple problem to solve (never is!) I'm trying to loop through a list of URL's in a javascript array I have made, load the first one, wait X seconds, then load the second, and continue until I start again. I got the array and looping working, trouble is, however I try and implement a "wait" using setInterval or similar, I have a structural issue, as the loop continues in the background.   • [IE 7/8] Loading HTML content in via Javascript nulls my <title> tag in some instances

    This is an Explorer only problem and the symptoms are: I have links that when clicked will load in HTML chunks (none of which contain html header tags) using javascript. The html chunks are placed in various <div>s around the page, perhaps 3 different places with 3 different chunks brought in via javascript. When these chunks load in the <title> tag of the page gets set to <title></title> for some unknown (to me) reason. I've used the IE developer toolbar to confirm this by inspecting the DOM tree. I have other pages that do similar things but it does not seem to be a problem there.

  • Doesn't JavaScript support closures with local variables?

    I am very puzzled about this code: var closures = []; function create() { for (var i = 0; i < 5; i++) { closures[i] = function() { alert("i = " + i); }; } } function run() { for (var i = 0; i < 5; i++) { closures[i](); } } create(); run(); From my understanding it should print 0,1,2,3,4 (isn't this the concept of closures?). Instead it prints 5,5,5,5,5. I tried Rhino and Firefox. Could someone explain this behavior to me? Thx in advance.

  • Changing html content of a div before and after ajax request

    I am trying to change the button "ADD" (in a div) to some text/img as soon as it is clicked. And after the ajax request is processed, in the success block , I want the div to get the button back. I see the ajax request is itself not getting processed. Can someone explain whats my mistake. I just removed the jsfiddle link and pasting the script here to avoid confusion about the dependencies.     How does one stream files, html or custom AJAX responses from web parts? Our current quick-and-very-dirty solution is to make the web part call the current page with certain query parameters, which the web part checks and instead of performing normal load it writes the required things to output and calls response end. This sounds bad since SharePoint might load other web parts and execute their code before reaching our web part. The web part is configured with data source settings which means the streaming context must be specific to the web part so it can acquire the correct data source settings.

    I am using ajax to insert a series of informational blocks via a loop. The blocks each have a title, and long description in them that is hidden by default. They function like an accordion, only showing one description at a time amongst all of the blocks. The problem is opening the description on the first block. I would REALLY like to do it with javascript right after the loop that is creating them is done.   • php error reporting - having trouble matching local & web server settings

    I'm trying to add a custom error handler to my site, but in doing so have discovered that my webhost's PHP error reporting settings and those of my localhost (default XAMPP) vary considerably. While I thought I was programming to E_STRICT like a good little boy, adding the error handler to my webhost revealed craploads of Runtime Notices. Example: Runtime notice strtotime() [function.strtotime]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'America/Chicago' for 'CST/-6.0/no DST' instead In /home/... Clearly this isn't a red-alert, showstopping error. But what bothers me is that it doesn't show up on my localhost. I'd certainly like to improve my code by addressing these sorts of issues if I could see them! I've looked through both php.ini files, and my webhost's setting is error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE whereas mine was error_reporting = E_STRICT, which I had thought was better. However, changing mine to match and rebooting the server doesn't seem to have accomplished anything. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

  • File location for config file to app installed to local user location

    I have a WinForm app that has inside of the app's config file locations to find files for the app to use as it runs. However, the app will be installed locally for each user so it can't be hard coded. For Vista and Windows 7 the installer puts the app in c:\users\\Documents area. Under Windows XP it puts it in a different location. How can I write the config file to use some sort of placeholder to be filled in at runtime with the specific user's information? I am just using the default areas that Windows wants to install a per-user install but need the config file to be flexible at runtime for the specific user.

  • Problem with superfish submenu being trimmed by content in Firefox

    Greetings, I have a problem which would seem to involve some kind of z-index issue, but for a change it's in everything except IE. If you take a look at http://cougar.motivo.com.au/ in anything except Internet Explorer and hover over the last menu item "Contact Us" you can se what I'm referring to. Basically the supersub menu appears to be being trimmed by the width of the element below it. You can see via the source that I've tried setting z-indexes & position:relative, but at this point I'm stumped. Any and all input would be gratefully received :) P.S. I am aware that there are still a couple of issues in IE6. I am yet to have the pleasure of addressing those (groans).

  • Can you suggest good ways of generating URLS for viewing tagged content

    For example, here on stack overflow the URL http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/javascript+php will give you all questions tagged with javascript and php. The system I have allows tags with spaces in them, so the approach used here would not be a good fit for me. What character would you use to separate the tags, so the URLs are still human readable, google readable and web browser compatible. My gut feeling was to use commas. eg http://example.com/tagged/first+tag,second+tag Any feedback or suggestions would be welcome.
