• Correct location of git on Mac OS X

  On Mac OS x 10.6.6 I have git installed in /usr/bin/ I wanted to update the got version however the the git installer puts it in /usr/local/git/bin/ I realise I could rearrange to path to point to the local one first but what I do not get is where the /usr/bin version came from. Could it be part of an xcode install and lastly how would I delete correct it. I have looked and looked but find nothing and I didn't install it with ports etc. thanks

  Hi I want to install rsync on windows xp. I have searched the web, but most of the solutions suggest using cygwin, but is there any other way to do this? I don't want to install cygwin because it takes lot of space. Moreover, I need to make it communicate with a rsync daemon on Linux, therefore alternatives to rsync on windows won't help. Thanks

  I was wondering if anyone has had any success installing Any/All of the Autodesk Suite (autocad, revit,inventor,3dsmax) and has set them up so that multiple users can log on to the domain without having issues with the applications trying to run from C:\users\usera\appdata...... I am trying to prevent the autocad initial setup using a profile (within autocad) but this didnt work either. I am using autodesk 2010. Thanks

  I am listing a couple of stuff that I want people to download for my school and remembered that some sites had directory browsing done with cool little icons displaying the file types. I wanted to do this myself and felt that the default directory browsing of apache is just too plain and IndexOptions +FancyIndexing is a bit 'old'.   I installed the informix client sdk on my pc (32 bit) and on the server, I could create an odbc connection on my pc easily, but on both windows 2003 and 2008 (64 bit) I can't. I don't know if there is a 64 bit sdk, maybe this is the issue. But I haven't found what to do. I need to use odbc since using the sdk by itself hangs IIS, and according to this post http://forums.asp.net/p/1269896/2425034.aspx#2425034 the solution is to use odbc. thanks

• Windows 7 laptop fonts DPI is too big breaking certain applications

  I have just installed windows 7 on a laptop and the fonts seem to be doing weird things, Ive adjusted the DPI back to 100% (was 125% by default) however certain applications (old delphi programmed ones) do not look correct still. Here is a screen shot comparing my laptop to my PC running the same software (ROCLink RTU configuration software), the PC looks fine but the laptop does not.   Does ssh-keygen -t rsa work if only set for root user i.e, if the username on local system is sodium and i generate the key using the above said command and on the remote system if i place the key in /root/.ssh authorized_keys ,this works. But on the remote system if the key is placed in /home/natrium/.ssh authorized_keys This still prompts for a password.Is this the expected behavior or is that some thing wrong in the above procedure Thanks..

We have a content management system we install for all our apps we build, but we are finding it incredibly painful as our hosting provider requires that we change the default 404 error page from the default settings everytime we create a site.
