• Google accidentally revealed Nexus 5 phone in Android Kitkat launch video

  Today Google officially announced KitKat as the name of the next version of Android OS(v4.4). They posted a video to showcase the unveiling of the KitKat statue at the company’s headquarters, but they accidentally revealed much more. 9to5Google spotted an unreleased Android smartphone in the video and they posted screen grabs of Googlers using it to take photos. This unreleased phone could be the next version of Google Nexus phone. Google few days ago reduced price of Nexus 4 smartphones by $100 and 8 GB version is reported out of inventory. With all these signs it seems to be clear that it is just weeks away for the launch of Google Nexus smartphone. Soon after the news of leaked smartphone spread on blogs, Google pulled Kitkat launch video to private. • Feedburner is Displaying an Inactive Email Address When Logged In

  I have set up a Feedburner subscription through my Google account login. For some reason Feedburner displays an old inactive email address in the top right when logged into Feedburner. I'm concerned since I don't have access to this email account. If for any reason I need to move my Feedburner Feed I'm concerned I'll need to access this email account which is impossible. My email address is correct in every other Google account, profile etc. and has been updated to a working and correct email address. How can I change this? Do I need to be concerned?

  Just like every other modern application, Skype also records all the communications we exchange using it. It records instant messages, calls, file transfers, SMS, etc. and makes it easy to view using the Conversation tab. If you ever feel like getting rid of these history information, then you need to delete them. Skype provides a single click option to clear all the history from you account, but the feature is buried deep under options menu.Really deep!. To clear history follow the menu Tools –> Options, switch to Privacy Settings tab available on the left side, click on Show advanced options button and finally hit the button Clear history. Ah!   Possible Duplicate: Which Content Management System (CMS)/Wiki should I use? I am working with a team to select a new content management system for a large membership organization (around 25,000 members). The organization has revenue so I'm not looking for a dirt cheap solution. The site currently uses ASI iMIS which is based on ColdFusion. It's difficult to work with and not flexible for our needs. What other possible alternatives to ASI iMIS are there? Ideally the solution would have some sort of support from the vendor. • How much do they study in the best universities, relative to the other universities?

  In my university, our total required weekly attendance (for lectures and tutorials/similar) is about 12 hours. It was like that in the first year, and then everything required extremely little effort - I believe that if I invested as much efforts as someone who is studying for medicine or law, I could have learnt everything for 1-2 months - if not less! Now I'm second year and it doesn't look like it's going to be too different. This concerns me about the people who study in Oxford, Cambridge or Imperial College. It would be weird if they study that little, and it would be very concerning if they do study very hard, because this would mean that by the end of the year, their first year students will be better than our average third year student. Which is bad news for me, given that I share the market with them. I know the question can't have an absolutely accurate answer, but it can still be answered quite definitely, and it's relevant to many people.

• New Dash features and Online accounts missing after 12.04 to 12.10 upgrade

  I performed upgrade to 12.10 from 12.04 using update-manager. Unfortunately, there was some error, because when I came back from the coffee, the screen was black. I opened a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and killall dpkg, which seemed to be waiting for user input for configuration file update (xdg package , if I remember well). After that, I did a do-release-upgrade, which seemed to work well, because I ended on a graphic session after reboot. The problem is that some 12.10 features are missing, as Online Accounts and Dash new online results. This made me suspicious of missing packages or something like that. Please take a look at upgrade logs and my new dpkg --get-selections output: https://gist.github.com/3919006 dpkg --reconfigure -a didn't solved the problem nor apt-get -f install showed any problem. do-release-upgrade say my system need no news packages (even if I change /etc/lsb-release to 12.04) If someone give me a dpkg --get-selections of a vanilla 12.10 installation, may be I can force system reconfiguration.

• Google App Engine: How to be notified when APIs change or become available?

  I am thinking about writing a GAE app but am a little hesitant because the EULA gives Google full rights to change their APIs anytime they want, for any reason. Obviously, they'd be out of business quick if they just 'upped and refactored their entire APIs, so I have to imagine they have some kind of notification system, perhaps even an RSS feed, etc. to notify developers well in advance of looming changes, or new features coming out in future releases. However, for the life of me I can't seem to find any trace of the existence of such a notification system. Perhaps the Google forums is the only place to get such updates? I guess I'm asking any battle-worn GAE veterans for re-assurance that there are reliable ways of getting notifications about policy or API changes from Google such that I could react and make the necessary app changes without production breaking or impacting any clients.   I'll get straight to the point: I was wondering if there is a common pattern to use portable areas as a components of a plugin-like architecture. Example: We've got 3 plugins (portable areas) packaged and distributed via NuGet feed. Each of them is following the standard MVC structure (has it own Models, Views and Controllers). Lets say login form, header and footer. What I was wondering if there is a way to make them communicate. For example: when user logs on, login plugin executes it own logic, logs the user and then it updates the state of the header plugin with changes it state accordingly. Thanks in advance.

• What is default username & password for a persistent pendrive?

  I am trying out Ubuntu 11.04 on a netbook. I created a live USB to boot from using this: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ and the system boots up into Ubuntu from the USB stick, great! bad news is I am presented with a login form.... I did not set a password so I have no idea what it could be.... username: other password: I have tried no password, no luck... I tried ubuntu, no luck Any Ideas why it has a password, and what it might be or how I can set the password?

• schema.org specification for generic pages or posts on a CMS

  I'm trying to determine the best possible schema.org type to declare for the content section in the template of a content management system, which will handle regular news posts for small, local hospitality businesses. The type should represent the content of that page, which is likely to be a wide range of things. The description for Article pretty strongly encourages its use to be limited to the articles of a publication. For purely semantic reasons, I'm not sure if Blog is appropriate in this case -- businesses won't be creating typical "blog" content but are more likely to be writing about upcoming events, special deals, awards, etc. Would Webpage be appropriate in this instance? Although I'm a fan of the schema.org concept, I frequently find myself unsure how broadly or narrowly I'm meant to infer the meaning of a type. In such cases, is it safe to use a high-level element, such as CreativeWork, or does this blunt the usefulness of the markup?

• 3rd Annual South Florida SQL Saturday - August 13th!

  The 3rd annual South Florida SQL Saturday event will be help August 13th, 2011 at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, FL. This is a change in venue from last year as DeVry is in the middle of a major remodling project. We has almost 450 last year, and we expect to have over 500 this year with great speakers such as Andy Warren, Herve Roggero, and more! As always, we our goal is to feed you well, so we are shooting for some hot lunch food this year. We are working on that now and will update you as soon as we firm it up. One of the things we will be trying this year is 90-100 minute sessions on a couple of tracks. We strongly feel that several topics are just getting warmed up in 45 minutes, so we are going to experiment with 90-100 minute sessions on some of the BI topics. We would love to see you there!

  Good news for our Telco ISV partners who want to leverage virtualization technologies such as SDN and NFV: We just announced that Solaris 11.2 will integrate OpenDaylight SDN, and that Oracle will join the OpenDaylight project as a Silver member. The integration will allow customers to improve service quality and take advantage of apps-to-disk SLAs through compatibility with a wide range of SDN devices, applications and services. It will also allow them to use a common and open SDN platform with OpenStack to manage Oracle Solaris-based clouds. The OpenDaylight Project is a community-led and industry-supported open source platform to advance SDN and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).

• Ad networks that will serve via HTTPS?

  I've built a website with 160K page views per month that serves every page over HTTPS. The recent FireSheep news will probably increase the adoption of "HTTPS everywhere" but it's been very hard to find ad networks and affiliates that will serve their content via HTTPS. I don't want to use these because I don't want my visitors to get "broken security" notification from their browsers (and of course, relevant ads would be a leak of private information). I'm tired of spending a ton of time signing up with ad networks and affiliates only to find out down the road that they don't support HTTPS (e.g. AdSense). Can anyone suggest any options or provide a pointer to a list of these somewhere?
