• Getting ID of a cloned element

  I'm using jQuery draggable and droppable. I'm cloning the draggable widget on drop event of droppable. I want to fetch the ID of the cloned element which will be sent to the the application with the AJAX request. I'm unable to fetch the ID. console.log returns blank string. var dropElem = ui.draggable.html(); var clone = $(dropElem).clone(); var widgetType = $(clone).attr('id'); $(this).append(clone); Also, I want to change the ID of the cloned element on the response event of the ajax request. • FieldError when annotating over foreign keys

  I have a models file that looks similar to the following: class WithDate(models.Model): adddedDate = models.DateTimeField(auto_now_add=True) modifiedDate = models.DateTimeField(auto_now=True) class Meta: abstract = True class Match(WithDate): ... class Notify(WithDate): matchId = models.ForeignKey(Match) headline = models.CharField(null=True, blank=True, max_length=10) For each Match I'm trying to get a count of notify records that have a headline. So my call looks like matchObjs = Match.objects.annotate(notifies_made=Count('notify__headline__isnull')) This keeps throwing a FieldError. I've simplified the query down to matchObjs = Match.objects.annotate(notifies_made=Count('notify')) And I still get the same FieldError... I've seen this work in other cases (other documentation, other SO questions like this one) but I can't figure out why I'm getting an error. The specific error that is returned is as follows: Cannot resolve keyword 'notify' into field. Choices are: (all fields from Match model) Does anyone have a clue as to why I can't get this annotation to work across tables? I'm baffled after looking at the other SO question and various Django docs where I've seen this done. Edit: I am using Django 1.1.1

• Strange Error - "Object moved to here."

  I get the strange error "Object moved to here." on a blank white page when I try to login on a site I created. It works fine locally but not when I deploy it to the test or production server. • c# RichTextBox Tab size

  Hello, I'm using System.Windows.Forms.RichTextBox and by default the tab size is 8 spaces. The RichTextBox itself is not that big and 8 spaces leads to a lot of scrolling. Is there any way to make it 4 spaces. If it matters, the control is initially blank and the user starts entering stuff and the tabs have to shorter (4 spaces) as the user enters text with tabs. I tried http://stackoverflow.com/questions/154204/modifying-default-tab-size-in-richtextbox and a few variations of it but no luck.

  I am trying to enable JavaScript in a Joomla template to behave differently depending on the page. In particular, I have set the Key Reference as that appears to be the most appropriate value I could find for this purpose. Unfortunately, I can't seem to access it in my code. I tried: $this->params->get("keyref") and a few other variations, but they simply returned a blank. How can I retrieve this value or is there a better way of writing page specific logic.   I have a ListView control on my form set up like this in details mode: What I would like to do, is get all the values of the data cells when the user presses the Delete booking button. So using the above example, my array would be filled with this data: values(0) = "asd" values(1) = "BS1" values(2) = "asd" values(3) = "21/04/2010" values(4) = "2" This is my code so far: Private Sub Button3_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button3.Click Dim items As ListView.SelectedListViewItemCollection = _ Me.ManageList.SelectedItems Dim item As ListViewItem Dim values(0 To 4) As String Dim i As Integer = 0 For Each item In items values(i) = item.SubItems(i).Text i = i + 1 Next End Sub But only values(0) gets filled with the first data cell of the selection (in this case "asd") and the rest of the array entries are blank. I have confirmed this with a breakpoint and checked the array entries myself. I'm REALLY lost on this, and have been trying for about an hour now. • Testing if a UI element is hidden in an OCUnit test

  I have a button that is hidden under certain circumstances that I wish to test. The button is hidden with [theButton setHidden: YES] in the viewDidLoad method if it is appropriate. For simplicity, lets say that the button is hidden when the buttonIsHidden property is set to true in the view controller. Right now I am trying the following: self.viewController = [[ViewController alloc] init]; self.viewController.buttonIsHidden = YES; [self.viewController loadView]; UIButton *theButton = [...] // function I wrote to retrieve the button based on it's touch up inside action if (theButton) { NSLog(@"%c", theButton.hidden); return (theButton.hidden == true) } return NO; It looks like the hidden property is not what it should be, the NSLog lines from the above code are blank. But, if I output another property like the height, it outputs the correct value so I know it is getting the right button. How do I access the hidden property of the button in this case?

• Accessing localhost via IIS 6.1 on Windows 7 very slow

  (I've checked here already for similiar questions, and haven't found one that's exactly the same - hence I'm posting a new question) I'm currently running an ASP.NET application on IIS 7.0 on Windows 7. When I access this application on Internet Explorer (either 6, 7 or 8) it is incredible slow and often fails to load at all. There are messages at the bottom saying: Waiting for http://localhost/....... or sometimes waiting for about:blank (I've read that this can be a virus, but I've run all the usual checks and it's not). constantly, but it returns with the usual: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" I've also tried this by using 127.0.0.1 and the machine name, with the same results. I've tried the same application on the latest Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera and they all work fine. I've also installed the same application on a Windows Server 2003 machine, and it all works fine via Internet Explorer. Soes anyone have any ideas why this doesn't work with Internet Explorer and yet does with other browsers?

• Netbeans GUI editor problems

  Hey guys. Im making a portion of my app using the netbeans gui editor. Great so far. However ive added a new checkbox - and when i load the panel in my app the text attribute isnt shown...its just blank as if i have no caption on it... all the other ones display - so this is very annoying. It kind of seems that I have hit the limit on gui items or something, becasue any new items I add I cannot seem then, If i add new labels they dont show either :S! The other problems Im having are that the size of the window im editting appears to be fixed - every time i change it, it jumps back to the same size - how do i stop this from happening? Cheers Andy

• [PRISM2] Added view does not appear on screen

  Why my "mainRegion.Activate(view);" doesn't display the view on screen? It only works if I remove the default view that registered (RegisterViewWithRegion) in ModuleInit.cs though I don't put .Activate() after I added a View. But a problem occurs if I move to other module, and get back to module which default view has been removed, I get blank page. Any clues? • Calculating intraday candlesticks by time intervals

  This maybe an over asked question, but my mind draws blank at this moment. I know what a candlestick chart is and how to draw it daily. But how to draw it intraday at asked time periods. I have this server, written in Java, that gives me trade depth (each trade done since the start of the day). Its just a stream of raw data: price, shares, timestamp. How does one go about calculating candlestick data from that? Lets say, they want to have 5 min candlestick or 1min candlestick. Or is there a library that will do that for me if I feed it data? Any help is appreciated!

  Hello I have an asp.net application which I used some Ajax method. in some cases I open an new window ( Full Screen ) and users must work on it. the problem is , some users report me that some times new window was blank and didnt show any content , in status bar just write connecting .... and nothing else. Just when customers closed all opening browser and open again , they can view pages. this happend when users work for a while and click open new window links before the page loaded compeletly. how can I fix this problem? regards

• Rails 3 beta 1 - Nested layouts - LocalJumpError

  Hi Nested layouts do not work in Rails 3. After I hit this I tried Rails Guides Example on a blank project (both ruby 1.9.1 and 1.8.7). LocalJumpError no block given on line <%= yield :stylesheets %. If you remove this line you will get the same error on the next yield statement. Could someone fix(patch) this? It's probably just a matter of calling block_given? in the right place. That would be great. Thanks Added on 4/3: Rails 3 beta 2 released. Problem fixed.

• How to flush output after each `echo` call?

  Hi all! I've a php script that only produces logs to the client. When I echo something, i wan't it to be transfered to client on-the-fly. (Because while the script is processing, the page is blank) I had already played arround with ob_start() and ob_flush(), but they didn't worked. What's the best solution? • Python: Find X to Y in a list of strings.

  I have a list of maybe a 100 or so elements that is actually an email with each line as an element. The list is slightly variable because lines that have a \n in them are put in a separate element so I can't simply slice using fixed values. I essentially need a variable start and stop phrase (needs to be a partial search as well because one of my start phrases might actually be Total Cost: $13.43 so I would just use Total Cost:.) Same thing with the end phrase. I also do not wish to include the start/stop phrases in the returned list. In summary: email = ['apples','bananas','cats','dogs','elephants','fish','gee'] start = 'ban' stop = 'ele' the magic here new_email = ['cats','dogs'] NOTES While not perfect formatting of the email, it is fairly consistent so there is a slim chance a start/stop phrase will occur more than once. There are also no blank elements.

• manage.py runserver not working

  I am new to django and python in general, so pardon me for any simple mistakes I may be doing. I am trying to setup my first django project on my local windows vista machine. I have created the project successfully with no problems. The issue I am coming across is when my settings.py has values for my database keys, the manage.py runserver command is failing. If I have values in settings before I run the command, as soon as I run it I get errors. If I have already run the command and the server is running, as soon as I edit the settings file with values, the errors show up in my still open command prompt. The inner most exception seems to "Error loading MySQLdb module: No module named MYSQLdb". If I leave the settings.py blank, the command executes with no problems. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

  Hi folks...I have a dictionary with embedded objects, which looks something like this: notes = { 2009: [<Note: Test note>, <Note: Another test note>], 2010: [<Note: Third test note>, <Note: Fourth test note>], } I'm trying to access each of the note objects inside a django template, and having a helluva time navigating to them. In short, I'm not sure how to extract by index in django templating. Current template code is: <h3>Notes</h3> {% for year in notes %} {{ year }} # Works fine {% for note in notes.year %} {{ note }} # Returns blank {% endfor %} {% endfor %} If I replace {% for note in notes.year %} with {% for note in notes.2010 %} things work fine, but I need that '2010' to be dynamic. Any suggestions much appreciated.

• jquery $.post returned data from php is empty

  hi, i'm using this code to post to a php page: var qreq = ".....myurl.php"; $.post(qreq, function(data){alert(data);}); in my PHP file i have this: ...... $prevtopic = $row["topic_id"]; echo $prevtopic; the alert comes up, but is blank. for some reason data is empty even though i'm echoing from the PHP file. i also tried just echoing "hi" but that didn't work either. what am i doing wrong? thanks.

  I was curious about C++ and virtual inheritance - in particular, the way that vtable conflicts are resolved between bass and child classes. I won't pretend to understand the specifics on how they work, but what I've gleamed so far is that their is a small delay caused by using virtual functions due to that resolution. My question then is if the base class is blank - ie, its virtual functions are defined as: virtual void doStuff() = 0; Does this mean that the resolution is not necessary, because there's only one set of functions to pick from? Forgive me if this is an stupid question - as I said, I don't understand how vtables work so I don't really know any better.

• Is there a Delphi standard function for escaping HTML?

  I've got a report that's supposed to take a grid control and produce HTML output. One of the columns in the grid can display any of a number of values, or <Any>. When this gets output to HTML, of course, it ends up blank. I could probably write up some routine to use StringReplace to turn that into &lt;Any&gt; so it would display this particular case correctly, but I figure there's probably one in the RTL somewhere that's already been tested and does it right. Anyone know where I could find it?

• What are the possible causes of JasperException

  I have a JSP that takes an Arraylist from the session object and removes the items from it. It seemed to be working fine and then out of nowhere when I navigate to that page, the page is blank. I checked the Tomcat log files and in catalina.out I am receiving a JasperException an it is showing it as being on a line with the following for(int i; i < agentItems.size(); i++) agentItems is the name of the ArrayList I am using. I have been debugging it and can't seem to figure out what the problem might be. I have read that a JasperException is sometiems thrown as a JSP's NullPointerException. Is this true or am I just completely overlooking the problem? I have the web application running on a local machine and a intermediate server for development in which both of them have had no trouble. Why could it be that only on this server it is giving me problems?

• Binding to an ObservableCollection of UserControls

  Simple Silverlight question: I have an ObservableCollection<MyObject> in my viewmodel. Every MyObject has a Label property. If I bind a ListBox to the collection and set DisplayMemberPath to Label, or set the ItemTemplate to a TextBlock that binds the Text property to Label, all works as expected. If I change MyObject so it derives from a UserControl, the Label text no longer shows up in the ListBox; each item just shows up as a blank strip a few pixels tall. Why is this? There's obviously something I'm missing here about how different things get rendered.

• Des decryption returns empty

  Hi, I am using Des.php for decryption. For few texts descript function returns Correct output in readable text format. For few... it just returns blank(empty.) After debugging in Des.php, i found that function _unpad($text) is returning false. The input $text is also still encoded. What could be the reason?
