  • C++ IO with Hard Drive

    I was wondering if there was any kind of portable (Mac&Windows) method of reading and writing to the hard drive which goes beyond iostream.h, in particular features like getting a list of all the files in a folder, moving files around, ect. I was hoping that there would be something like SDL around, but so far I havn't been able to find much. Any ideas??

  • How can I validate two or more fields in combination?

    I'm using JPA 2.0/Hibernate validation to validate my models. I now have a situation where the combination of two fields has to be validated: public class MyModel { public Integer getValue1() { //... } public String getValue2() { //... } } The model is invalid if both getValue1() and getValue2() are null and valid otherwise. How can I perform this kind of validation with JPA 2.0/Hibernate? With a simple @NotNull annotation both getters must be non-null to pass validation.

    I want to use a field (kind of QTextEdit), which is capabale of storing picture and text (like MS Word is doing) and it serializes and deserialaizes picture+text data. Is there any Qt Widget that allows us to manipulate with picture and text simultaniously and it has set/get functions which operate with serializable type? In othger words, I want to know if there exsists any Qt widget that can store picture+text and has "get" types of function that returns the content of that widgets editable area, which is a Type that could be serialized with QDataStream.

  • Structure for Django methods that span different models

    I have two models (say A and B) which are independent and have independent methods. I want to add some methods that operate on both models though. for example, addX() will create an object from both models A and B. What's the best way to structure code in this situation, since it doesnt make sense to have the method belong to either of the models methods. Is the standard to write a service for the kind of 'abstract' model?

  • What are the rules about using an underscore in a C++ identifier?

    It's common in C++ to name member variables with some kind of prefix to denote the fact that they're member variables, rather than local variables or parameters. If you've come from an MFC background, you'll probably use "m_foo". I've also seen "myFoo" occasionally. C# (or possibly just .NET) seems to recommend using just an underscore, as in "_foo". Is this allowed by the C++ standard?

    Hi Guys, I've written a kind of navigation system for pedestrians. The only thing is, that I need a criterion to finish the navigation. My values are gives as lat/long pairs. What would you assume would be a good value to say, both positions are equal/near enough to tell the user that he has reached the goal?     I want define a functions that accepts &rest - parameters and delegates them to another function. (html "blah" "foo" baz) = "blahfoobaz" I did not find a better way than this one: (defun html (&rest values) (concatenate 'string "" (reduce #'(lambda(a b) (concatenate 'string a b)) values :initial-value "") "")) But this looks somewhat glumbsy to me, since line 4 does no more than concatenating the &rest parameter "values". I tried (concatenate 'string "" (values-list values) "") but this does not seem to work (SBCL). Could someone give me an advice? Kind regards
