In other words, should I avoid passing stack variables around by address and expecting them to still be alive after the function they were initialised in has ended?

    I have been messing around with a way to justify align a collection of UIView subclasses within a containing view. I am having a little bit of trouble with the algorithm and was hoping someone could help spot my errors.     After running chkdsk C: /F /R and finding out that my hard disk has 24 KB in bad sectors (log is posted below), I decided to run Windows 7's System File Checker utility (sfc /scannow). SFC showed the ff. message after I ran it: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log." Since the CBS.log file is too large, I ran findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >"%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt" (as per Microsoft's KB 928228 article) to only get the log text pertaining to the corrupt files. (log is also posted below) How do I troubleshoot and repair the corrupted files mentioned by sfc /scannow?   • minimal rsync installation on windows xp?

    Hi I want to install rsync on windows xp. I have searched the web, but most of the solutions suggest using cygwin, but is there any other way to do this? I don't want to install cygwin because it takes lot of space. Moreover, I need to make it communicate with a rsync daemon on Linux, therefore alternatives to rsync on windows won't help. Thanks

    In the Sun JVM, classes that are loaded by the class loader are put in permgen space and never gc'd. (Unless the class loader goes out of scope) It's my understanding that JRockit puts that same data on the heap instead. Is that data then subject to garbage collection? Thanks.

  • Problems removing a " from a string

    Hi, I have a string that ends with a " (quotation mark) that I want to get rid of. However, because XCode usually requires you to enter the text you wish to remove using stringByReplacingOccurrencesOfString in @"texttoremove" format, you can't use the quotation marks in the space as it thinks you are closing the text. Any ideas on how I can do it? Thanks.

    I'd like to write a service that periodically checks a POP3 account for new messages and based on custom business logic forwards the messages to an appropriate "To", and possibly changes the "From" as well. I might need to keep some messages on the server until certain conditions are ready for them to be forwarded.     I have an Windows.Documents.InlineUIContainerin a RichTextBox, and sometimes it's font size of alignment change when I hit key combination such as Ctrl+Space. I couldn't find any place to handle these events and block them somehow. I don't want to block it in the RichTextBox. I am more looking for a way to block it only on the InlineUIContainer.

Output I want is: H343423 C343423 Output my RegEx is getting is: H343423 Something1 Something2 C343423 0 So it is fetching the whole line but I just want it to stop after first word is read. Any help?

  • Action Item shown only in Landscape?

    I was just wondering if it were at all possible for an Action Bar icon to only be shown when the device is in landscape mode? In portrait I have an onscreen button for a certain task, but in order to take advantage of all of the screen-space in landscape, that button won't fit. So I was wondering if I could put it in the Action Bar, but it would only be necessary when the device is in landscape. Thanks!
