  • Motion detection of a specific object in .net

    - by abinop
I need to make a .net application where I must detect a specific object the user is holding, using a camera. If the object must have some specific characteristics so that it can be easily recognized and detected from the surrounding space, please give me some tips (ex a green cube?) What would be the best technique/.net library to use? I need to translate in realtime the user's hand movement and display an animation on screen accordingly.

  • How do I create a pull-down/up window in Android GUI?

    - by Sara
For Android GUI: I would like to create a window that I can pull up from the bottom of another window, kind of like the Notification bar or the tab in the bottom on Spotify for Android. I want to be able to grab a small piece of the window and pull it up. Or just click it and it will "pop up". And afterwards be able to pull or click it so it returs to its original space. Does anyone know a good way to do this?

  • Make Apache server available on a LAN via custom ServerName

    - by samwatt
Hi, is it possible to set up an Apache server on a machine which is part of a LAN, then allow machines on the LAN to access the server via a custom ServerName (instead of Localhost). I want to serve a simple website in an office space using a short ServerName (no ports etc if possible), but I want to make sure this is possible (after originally being certain it was!). THanks in advance.

  • Papervision 3D: How can I force dimensions on a collada file

    - by imadethisthing
Hey everyone, I'm working with Collada files and I need them to be a certain size. When instantiating them in pv3d you set the filename, materials, and scale. Scale works like a percentage, and there's no way to get the width, height, or depth of the DAE once in flash. I want to be able to specify the size of DAE in 3D space relative to other pv3d native geometry.

  • dictionary interface for large data sets

    - by Richard
I have a set of key/values (all text) that is too large to load in memory at once. I would like to interact with this data via a Python dictionary-like interface. Does such a module already exist? Reading key values should be efficient and values compressed on disk to save space.

  • Action Item shown only in Landscape?

    - by roboguy12
I was just wondering if it were at all possible for an Action Bar icon to only be shown when the device is in landscape mode? In portrait I have an onscreen button for a certain task, but in order to take advantage of all of the screen-space in landscape, that button won't fit. So I was wondering if I could put it in the Action Bar, but it would only be necessary when the device is in landscape. Thanks!

  • shellcode is trunced by \x20

    - by marcelo carvalho
Dear Masters Why my shellcode is trunced after "\x20" opcode, when it is copied by string to stack on a second vulnerable program? --cmd.exe-- char shell[]= "\xc7\x44\x24\x0c\x65\x78\x65\x20" <---only this line is put in stack, though hv a enough space "\xc7\x44\x24\x08\x63\x6d\x64\x2e" "\x31\xc0" "\x89\x44\x24\x04" "\x8d\x44\x24\x08" "\x89\x04\x24" "\x8d\x05\xad\x23\x86\x7c" "\xff\xd0"; --end shell--

  • Unfold vCard lines in shell

    - by l0b0
vCard lines can be folded by inserting "\r\n " (that's a space at the start of the new line), but I'm struggling to unfold them with the line-oriented GNU tools (sed, cut). Any ideas? Effectively, from the string foo bar baz ban bay bal it must return foobar baz banbaybal

  • millions of 3d points how to 10 closest to origin

    - by Kazoom
A point in 3-d is defined by (x,y,z). Distance d between any two points (X,Y,Z) and (x,y,z) is d= Sqrt[(X-x)^2 + (Y-y)^2 + (Z-z)^2]. Now there are a million entries in a file, each entry is some point in space, in no specific order. Given any point (a,b,c) find the nearest 10 points to it. How would you store the million points and how would you retrieve those 10 points from that data structure.

  • CSS difficulty horizontally displaying / repeating left and right wrapper images to ends of screen

    - by user310606
I am having trouble getting my left and right repeaters to fill the available space left on wide screens for a website I am working on. The left and right repeaters are background images (approxamately 350px wide) that I would like to show part of, or even repeat if the screen (visible area of screen shown in red) becomes wide enough. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, John

  • Linux tail only whole words

    - by Andrew
Hello, I need to print last 20 characters of string, but only whole words. Delimiter is a space "". Let's consider this example: string="The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog" echo $string | tail -c20 returns s over the lazy dog. And I need it to return over the lazy dog instead. Do you know how to accomplish that? Thanks!

  • How can Hosting Providers allow .NET Full Trust?

    - by Alex
I wondered how certain .NET hosting providers can safely grant full trust to their customers? Doesn't this open up everybody who is hosting with that company to potential safety issues? Or is there a way to safely restrict each customer, despite giving full trust, to "their" space without giving them the abiliy to bring down the system or spy on other customers?

  • WPF: When is a WrapPanel full.

    - by rathkopf
I'm using a WrapPanel to display variable height items in columns. The wrappanel has a constrained size. Is there an way to determine when the WrapPanel is 'full'? I will then page to another panel with an animation. I've looked at the ArrangeOverride of the items that are the panels children, but they always seem to be getting all the space they want. I need a way to determine when they begin getting clipped.

  • Berkeley DB java edition, any LGPL or BSD alternatives in Java?

    - by Ali
Hi All, I am dealing with a huge dataset consisting of key-value pairs. The queries are always in the form of range queries on the key space (keys are numbers) hence any persistent B-Tree like structure will handle the situation. I would like to use BDB-Java Edition but the product is closed source and my company doesn't want to buy BDB-JE License. I am wondering, would you please share your experience with any non-GPL java based key-value storage system. Thanks, -A

  • MacOS Virtual Input Devices

    - by computergeek6
How can I create a virtual HID device in code? I'm trying to avoid writing a kernel extension to accomplish this, but it seems to be the only way. I need to be able to create virtual HID devices of all types, and have an app running in the background feed them events. Is there a way to do this in user-space, or must I venture into kernel land?

  • Processor architecture

    - by asj
While HDDs evolve and offer more and more space on less room, why are we "sticking with" 32-bit or 64-bit? Why can't there be a e.g.: 128-bit processor? (This is not my homework; I'm just a student interested beyond the things they teach us in informatics)

  • handling NSStream events when using EASession in MonoTouch

    - by scotru
Does anyone have an example of how to handle read and write NSStream events in Monotouch when working with accessories via EASession? It looks like there isn't a strongly typed delegate for this and I'm having trouble figuring out what selectors I need to handle on the delegates of my InputStream and OutputStream and what I actually need to do with each selector in order to properly fill and empty the buffers belonging to the EASession object. Basically, I'm trying to port Apple's EADemo app to Monotouch right now. Here's the Objective-C source that I think is relevant to this problem: / / asynchronous NSStream handleEvent method - (void)stream:(NSStream *)aStream handleEvent:(NSStreamEvent)eventCode { switch (eventCode) { case NSStreamEventNone: break; case NSStreamEventOpenCompleted: break; case NSStreamEventHasBytesAvailable: [self _readData]; break; case NSStreamEventHasSpaceAvailable: [self _writeData]; break; case NSStreamEventErrorOccurred: break; case NSStreamEventEndEncountered: break; default: break; } } / low level write method - write data to the accessory while there is space available and data to write - (void)_writeData { while (([[_session outputStream] hasSpaceAvailable]) && ([_writeData length] > 0)) { NSInteger bytesWritten = [[_session outputStream] write:[_writeData bytes] maxLength:[_writeData length]]; if (bytesWritten == -1) { NSLog(@"write error"); break; } else if (bytesWritten > 0) { [_writeData replaceBytesInRange:NSMakeRange(0, bytesWritten) withBytes:NULL length:0]; } } } // low level read method - read data while there is data and space available in the input buffer - (void)_readData { #define EAD_INPUT_BUFFER_SIZE 128 uint8_t buf[EAD_INPUT_BUFFER_SIZE]; while ([[_session inputStream] hasBytesAvailable]) { NSInteger bytesRead = [[_session inputStream] read:buf maxLength:EAD_INPUT_BUFFER_SIZE]; if (_readData == nil) { _readData = [[NSMutableData alloc] init]; } [_readData appendBytes:(void *)buf length:bytesRead]; //NSLog(@"read %d bytes from input stream", bytesRead); } [[NSNotificationCenter defaultCenter] postNotificationName:EADSessionDataReceivedNotification object:self userInfo:nil]; } I'd also appreciate any architectural recommendations on how to best implement this in monotouch. For example, in the Objective C implementation these functions are not contained in any class--but in Monotouch would it make sense to make them members of my

  • Weird Objective-C Mod Behavior

    - by coneybeare
    So I thought that negative numbers, when mod'ed should be put into positive space... I cant get this to happen in objective-c I expect this: -1 % 3 = 2 0 % 3 = 0 1 % 3 = 1 2 % 3 = 2 But get this -1 % 3 = -1 0 % 3 = 0 1 % 3 = 1 2 % 3 = 2 Why is this and is there a workaround?
