  • How to check the status (True/False) in a grid view on rowdatabound event?

    - by NayeemKhan
    Hi all, I have a table with three columns (ProdID,ProdName,Status). I m fetching that into a dataSet and binding that to my gridview. I have a very basic and simple rowdatabound event like this : protected void gvProducts_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { if (e.Row.RowType == DataControlRowType.DataRow) { if (e.Row.Cells[2].Text == "False") { e.Row.BackColor = System.Drawing.Color.PaleVioletRed; } } } But when i see my 3rd column (Status), it is converted to a checkbox, may be becz its containing only 'True' or 'False'. Also in my if condition : if (e.Row.Cells[3].Text == "False") the text value is showing this : "" Can anybody suggest me, how can i compare my status against True or False in my if condition.

  • How do i pass arraycollection to Advancedatagrid using HierarchicalData ?

    - by R.Vijayakumar
    Problem with passing arraycollection to Advance datagrid. My Arraycollection structure like `   private var groupList:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection([ {Country:'India', children:[ {Country:'Series1', children:[                                {Matches:'India Test series 1',isEnable:false,id:1,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'India Test series 2',isEnable:false,id:2,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'India Test series 3',isEnable:false,id:3,isSelected:true}]},              {Country:'Series2', children:[                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 1',isEnable:false,id:25,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 2',isEnable:false,id:26,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 3',isEnable:false,id:27,isSelected:true}]} ]}, {Country:'Austrila', children:[ {Country:'Series1', children:[                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 1',isEnable:false,id:46,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 2',isEnable:false,id:47,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 3',isEnable:false,id:48,isSelected:true}]}, {Country:'Series2', children:[                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 1',isEnable:false,id:49,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 2',isEnable:false,id:50,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 3',isEnable:false,id:51,isSelected:true}]}, {Country:'Series3', children:[                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 1',isEnable:false,id:52,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 2',isEnable:false,id:53,isSelected:true},                                {Matches:'Australia Test series 3',isEnable:false,id:54,isSelected:true}]} ]} passing AD in dataProvider="{new HierarchicalData(groupList)}" It's working fine. it's show two menu of tree and childrens based on country .But i tried dynamic xml convert to Arraycollection by below code private function convertXmlToArrayCollection( file:String ):ArrayCollection { var xml:XMLDocument = new XMLDocument( file ); //var decoder:SimpleXMLDecoder = new SimpleXMLDecoder(); var decoder1:SimpleXMLDecoder = new SimpleXMLDecoder(true); var data1:Object = decoder1.decodeXML( xml ); var array1:Array = ArrayUtil.toArray(data1); return new ArrayCollection( array1 ); } my xml structure is <Country Country="India "> <Country Country="Series "> <Matches Matches="BIndependiente-Colon" id="701536" isEnable="false" isSelected="true" startDate="2009-10-29 01:30:00" EndDate="2009-10-29 01:30:00"/> <Matches Matches="Boca Juniors-Chacarita Juniors" id="701633" isEnable="false" isSelected="true" startDate="2009-10-29 19:00:00" EndDate=""/> </Country> </Country> <Country Country="Australia"> <Country Country="series"> <Matches Matches="BIndependiente-Colon" id="701536" isEnable="false" isSelected="true" startDate="2009-10-29 01:30:00" EndDate="2009-10-29 01:30:00"/> <Matches Matches="Boca Juniors-Chacarita Juniors" id="701633" isEnable="false" isSelected="true" startDate="2009-10-29 19:00:00" EndDate=""/> </Country> </Country> So if i tried to convert this format of xml code to arryacollection , it converted the array collection but when will i pass to Advance data grid it not show any result . What did i wrong ? groupList1= convertXmlToArrayCollection(string1); Alert.show(groupList1[0].Country[0].Matches[0].id.toString());// output is =701536 Where did i mistake it ?   • Collision Detection with SAT: False Collision for Diagonal Movement Towards Vertical Tile-Walls?

    - by Macks
    Edit: Problem solved! Big thanks to Jonathan who pointed me in the right direction. Sean describes the method I used in a different thread. Also big thanks to him! :) Here is how I solved my problem: If a collision is registered by my SAT-method, only fire the collision-event on my character if there are no neighbouring solid tiles in the direction of the returned minimum translation vector. I'm developing my first tile-based 2D-game with Javascript. To learn the basics, I decided to write my own "game engine". I have successfully implemented collision detection using the separating axis theorem, but I've run into a problem that I can't quite wrap my head around. If I press the [up] and [left] arrow-keys simultaneously, my character moves diagonally towards the upper left. If he hits a horizontal wall, he'll just keep moving in x-direction. The same goes for [up] and [left] as well as downward-diagonal movements, it works as intended: http://i.stack.imgur.com/aiZjI.png Diagonal movement works fine for horizontal walls, for both left and right-movement However: this does not work for vertical walls. Instead of keeping movement in y-direction, he'll just stop as soon as he "enters" a new tile on the y-axis. So for some reason SAT thinks my character is colliding vertically with tiles from vertical walls: http://i.stack.imgur.com/XBEKR.png My character stops because he thinks that he is colliding vertically with tiles from the wall on the right. This only occurs, when: Moving into top-right direction towards the right wall Moving into top-left direction towards the left wall Bottom-right and bottom-left movement work: the character keeps moving in y-direction as intended. Is this inherited from the way SAT works or is there a problem with my implementation? What can I do to solve my problem? Oh yeah, my character is displayed as a circle but he's actually a rectangular polygon for the collision detection. Thank you very much for your help.

  • "Half of everything you know will be obsolete in 18-24 months" = ( True, or False? )

    - by blunders
    Just ran across this, and wondering if anyone has a way to prove or disprove this statement: Something to keep in mind ... what's the half-life of knowledge in high tech? It tracks with Moore's Law: half of everything you know will be obsolete in 18-24 months. • Setup Custom Portal & Content Enabled Domain

    - by Stefan Krantz
    When overlooking the past year we have seen a large increase in deployments where only some parts of the WebCenter Suite infrastructure has been used. The most common from my personal perspective is a domain topology that includes: WebCenter Custom Portal, WebCenter Content and Oracle HTTP ServicesToday its very common to see installation where the whole suite is installed when the use case only requires the custom portal and some sub component like WebCenter Content. This post will go into detail on how to minimize the deployment time and effort by only laying down the necessary managed servers needed, by following this proposed method you will minimize the configuration steps and only install the required components and schema's, configure only the necessary components and minimize the impact of architectural changes through reduced dependencies. Assumptions: Oracle 11g Database installed SYS or equivalent access to Database to setup schema's via RCU Running Operating System supporting JDK 7 Update 2 (Check support matrix here) Good understanding of WebLogic Architecture Binaries: Oracle JDK 7 Update 2 (1.7.0_02) (Download) Oracle WebLogic 10.3.6 (Download) Oracle WebCenter Binaries (11.1.1.6) (Download) Oracle WebCenter Content Binaries (11.1.1.6) (Download 1) (Download 2) Oracle HTTP Services (11.1.1.6) (Download) Oracle Repository Creation Utility (11.1.1.6) (Download Linux or Windows) Schema's: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; • EM12c Release 4: New Compliance features including DB STIG Standard

    - by DaveWolf
    Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Enterprise Manager’s compliance framework is a powerful and robust feature that provides users the ability to continuously validate their target configurations against a specified standard. Enterprise Manager’s compliance library is filled with a wide variety of standards based on Oracle’s recommendations, best practices and security guidelines. These standards can be easily associated to a target to generate a report showing its degree of conformance to that standard. ( To get an overview of  Database compliance management in Enterprise Manager see this screenwatch. ) Starting with release 12.1.0.4 of Enterprise Manager the compliance library will contain a new standard based on the US Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for Oracle Database 11g. According to the DISA website, “The STIGs contain technical guidance to ‘lock down’ information systems/software that might otherwise be vulnerable to a malicious computer attack.” In essence, a STIG is a technical checklist an administrator can follow to secure a system or software. Many US government entities are required to follow these standards however many non-US government entities and commercial companies base their standards directly or partially on these STIGs. You can find more information about the Oracle Database and other STIGs on the DISA website. The Oracle Database 11g STIG consists of two categories of checks, installation and instance. Installation checks focus primarily on the security of the Oracle Home while the instance checks focus on the configuration of the running database instance itself. If you view the STIG compliance standard in Enterprise Manager, you will see the rules organized into folders corresponding to these categories. The actual description field contains the text from the STIG documentation to aid in understanding the purpose of the check. All of the rules have also been documented in the Oracle Database Compliance Standards reference documentation. In order to use this standard both the OMS and agent must be at version 12.1.0.4 as it takes advantage of several features new in this release including: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Agent-Side Compliance Rules Manual Compliance Rules Violation Suppression Additional BI Publisher Compliance Reports /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Agent-Side Compliance Rules Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Agent-side compliance rules are essentially the result of a tighter integration between Configuration Extensions and Compliance Rules. If you ever created customer compliance content in past versions of Enterprise Manager, you likely used Configuration Extensions to collect additional information into the EM repository so it could be used in a Repository compliance rule. This process although powerful, could be confusing to correctly model the SQL in the rule creation wizard. With agent-side rules, the user only needs to choose the Configuration Extension/Alias combination and that’s it. Enterprise Manager will do the rest for you. This tighter integration also means their lifecycle is managed together. When you associate an agent-side compliance standard to a target, the required Configuration Extensions will be deployed automatically for you. The opposite is also true, when you unassociated the compliance standard, the Configuration Extensions will also be undeployed. The Oracle Database STIG compliance standard is implemented as an agent-side standard which is why you simply need to associate the standard to your database targets without previously deploying the associated Configuration Extensions. You can learn more about using Agent-Side compliance rules in the screenwatch Using Agent-Side Compliance Rules on Enterprise Manager's Lifecycle Management page on OTN. /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Manual Compliance Rules Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} There are many checks in the Oracle Database STIG as well as other common standards which simply cannot be automated. This could be something as simple as “Ensure the datacenter entrance is secured.” or complex as Oracle Database STIG Rule DG0186 – “The database should not be directly accessible from public or unauthorized networks”. These checks require a human to perform and attest to its successful completion. Enterprise Manager now supports these types of checks in Manual rules. When first associated to a target, each manual rule will generate a single violation. These violations must be manually cleared by a user who is in essence attesting to its successful completion. The user is able to permanently clear the violation or give a future date on which the violation will be regenerated. Setting a future date is useful when policy dictates a periodic re-validation of conformance wherein the user will have to reperform the check. The optional reason field gives the user an opportunity to provide details of the check results. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Violation Suppression There are situations that require the need to permanently or temporarily suppress a legitimate violation or finding. These include approved exceptions and grace periods. Enterprise Manager now supports the ability to temporarily or permanently suppress a violation. Unlike when you clear a manual rule violation, suppression simply removes the violation from the compliance results UI and in turn its negative impact on the score. The violation still remains in the EM repository and can be accounted for in compliance reports. Temporarily suppressing a violation can give users a grace period in which to address an issue. If the issue is not addressed within the specified period, the violation will reappear in the results automatically. Again the user may enter a reason for the suppression which will be permanently saved with the event along with the suppressing user ID. This means users can take full advantage of the powerful reporting engine by using the Oracle provided reports or building their own. There are many new compliance related reports available in 12.1.0.4 covering all aspects including the association status, library as well as summary and detailed results reports.  10 New Compliance Reports Compliance Summary Report Example showing STIG results Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Conclusion Together with the Oracle Database 11g STIG compliance standard these features provide a complete solution for easily auditing and reporting the security posture of your Oracle Databases against this well known benchmark. • C#. Whats the fastest way to make an integer positive

    - by maxima120
    I asked wrong question previously and was swamped with negative votes... Let me try again... What is absolutely fastest way to make an int positive (given 50/50 distribution of pos/neg over time). To be nominated for an answer I will require MSIL analysis and not a guess or measuring of time with granny's watch... P.S. as one of variations I proposed i * i not because I wanted to do Sqrt(i * i) afterwards but because i will be used only once to be compared to a const. And if i * i will win competition I simply multiply the const.. Hence the following solution is valid: int trigger = realTrigger * realTrigger; i = SomeCalcs(); i = i * i; if(i < trigger) DoSomething(); P.P.S. pointless rant is not acceptable.. like: why do you need this, its BS! C# cannot tolerate developers like you!

    Hi, I have two Questions for which I cannot find answers by googling, but I find these questions very important for preparation.. Kindly explain only the logic, I will be able to code. In Search of Efficient Logic..... in terms of Memory and Time. WAP to add two long positive integers. What Data structure / data type we can use to store the numbers and result. What is the best way to search an element from an array in shortest time. Size of the array could be large enough, and any elements could be stored in the array(i.e. no range). Thanks.

  • Como Exportar Crystal Reports a Excel, Word, Rich Text, PDF ó HTML

    Cuando trabajamos con reportes siempre requerimos la funcionalidad de exportación. En crystal reports para asp.net, realizar esta tarea es sumamente sencillo. Sin embargo la pregunta más grande que salta siempre, es como realizarlo utilizando código Behind. Nuestro primer parametro FormatType es un valor de tipo ExportFormatType, que puede corresponder a cualquiera de los metodos que enumeramos a continuación: CrystalReport: El formato al cual se exporta es de Tipo CrystalReport. Excel: El formato al cual se exporta es de tipo Excel ExcelRecord: El formato al cual se exporta es de Tipo Excel Record. NoFormat: No se ha especificado un formato de exportación. PortableDocFormat: El formato al cual se exporta es de Tipo PDF.  No voy a enumerar todos, pues me imagino que ya sabrán la idea de cada uno de los formatos, los numerados arriba son los mas importantes. Nuestro segundo parametro el objeto response nos permite adozar el archivo. Y por último, nuestro tercer parametro, definirá si debe ir como un objeto adjunto o no. Si lo colocamos en TRUE, estaremos enviando nuestro archivo como parametro, esto hará que no necesitemos las siguientes líneas de código: Normal 0 21 false false false ES X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Tabla normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0cm; mso-para-margin-right:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0cm; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} Response.Buffer = False Response.Clear()   Con esto realizado, ya contamos con la posibilidad de enviar el archivo directamente al cliente.   Ahora si, veamos cuanto se ha reducido nuestro código: Unicamente nos quedan dos líneas de código en nuestro botón Normal 0 21 false false false ES X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Tabla normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-qformat:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0cm; mso-para-margin-right:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0cm; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}        'Cargar reporte. By now you’ve undoubtedly seen the blogs and announcements about Oracle OpenWorld. And perhaps you’ve also seen the news about OpenWorld’s newest sister event: Oracle Customer Experience (CX) Summit @ OpenWorld. Oracle CX Summit was created to be the most meaningful CX event, to be truly unique, to serve as the place to discover what it takes and what it really means to put the customer at the center of your business success. One long-time Oracle customer, when told about the Oracle CX Summit, put it this way: ‘This makes me rethink how I think about Oracle and Customer Experience’. Listen to what she heard and you be the judge. We believe Customer Experience (‘CX’) is a movement, not just the latest ‘IT’ tech trend. CX isn’t something you can simply ‘install’. CX is one of the most strategic initiatives an organization can undertake. Customer Experience is about connecting with an organization’s most important asset, the customer, and the critical role that connection has to an organization’s success. And there’s never been a bigger gathering of the smartest CX minds, most successful CX companies, and innovative CX examples than Oracle CX Summit. Take Subaru, for example. The company fully embraced the CX opportunity and their CX leadership will be on stage at the Oracle CX Summit to share their CX journey. They radically changed the way they interact with their customers, empower their employees, and differentiate their brand. And this is a story with a phenomenal happy ending: in a stagnant market and shrinking economy, they GREW their business and outpaced their competition. • Can someone help me with this Java Chess game please?

    - by Chris Edwards
    Hey guys, Please can someone have a look at this code and let me know whether I am on the right track with the "check_somefigure_move"s and the "check_black/white_promotion"s please? And also any other help you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! P.S. I know the code is not the best implementation, but its a template I have to follow :( Code: class Moves { private final Board B; private boolean regular; public Moves(final Board b) { B = b; regular = regular_position(); } public boolean get_regular_position() { return regular; } public void set_regular_position(final boolean new_reg) { regular = new_reg; } // checking whether B represents a "normal" position or not; // if not, then only simple checks regarding move-correctness should // be performed, only checking the direct characteristics of the figure // moved; // checks whether there is exactly one king of each colour, there are // no more figures than promotions allow, and there are no pawns on the // first or last rank; public boolean regular_position() { int[] counts = new int[256]; for (char file = 'a'; file <= 'h'; ++file) for (char rank = '1'; rank <= '8'; ++rank) ++counts[(int) B.get(file,rank)]; if (counts[Board.white_king] != 1 || counts[Board.black_king] != 1) return false; if (counts[Board.white_pawn] > 8 || counts[Board.black_pawn] > 8) return false; int count_w_promotions = 0; count_w_promotions += Math.max(counts[Board.white_queen]-1,0); count_w_promotions += Math.max(counts[Board.white_rook]-2,0); count_w_promotions += Math.max(counts[Board.white_bishop]-2,0); count_w_promotions += Math.max(counts[Board.white_knight]-2,0); if (count_w_promotions > 8 - counts[Board.white_pawn]) return false; int count_b_promotions = 0; count_b_promotions += Math.max(counts[Board.black_queen]-1,0); count_b_promotions += Math.max(counts[Board.black_rook]-2,0); count_b_promotions += Math.max(counts[Board.black_bishop]-2,0); count_b_promotions += Math.max(counts[Board.black_knight]-2,0); if (count_b_promotions > 8 - counts[Board.black_pawn]) return false; for (char file = 'a'; file <= 'h'; ++file) { final char fig1 = B.get(file,'1'); if (fig1 == Board.white_pawn || fig1 == Board.black_pawn) return false; final char fig8 = B.get(file,'8'); if (fig8 == Board.white_pawn || fig8 == Board.black_pawn) return false; } return true; } public boolean check_normal_white_move(final char file0, final char rank0, final char file1, final char rank1) { if (!   • Flash Sprite looses focus on MOUSE_DOWN event

    - by John
    My Sprite class keeps losing focus when I click with the mouse - specifically after the MOUSE_DOWN event (before the click is complete). I have set mouseEnabled to false on the children, no change. I added a listener for FOCUS_OUT and noticed that the FocusEvent.relatedObject property is NULL, which is confusing me - doesn't that mean there is no new focus target, the focus is just getting lost? The exact sequence of events I get, by tracing them, as I click: [FocusEvent type="focusOut" bubbles=true cancelable=false eventPhase=2 relatedObject=null shiftKey=false keyCode=0] [MouseEvent type="mouseDown" bubbles=true cancelable=false eventPhase=2 localX=355 localY=362 stageX=360 stageY=367 relatedObject=null ctrlKey=false altKey=false shiftKey=false buttonDown=true delta=0]) [MouseEvent type="click" bubbles=true cancelable=false eventPhase=2 localX=355 localY=362 stageX=360 stageY=367 relatedObject=null ctrlKey=false altKey=false shiftKey=false buttonDown=false delta=0]

  • Optimized CSF LFD to miminize false positive emails on new install? Centos6.2 + ISPConfig3

    - by Damainman
    I have a remote dedicated server running CentOS 6.2 x64bit with ISPConfig3. This is a brand new install. Server Purpose: Basic LAMP Web Hosting with PureFTPD, BIND, CLAMAV, RKHunter. Any advice or link to a guide which will clearly explain how to optimize the CSF+LFD configuration is greatly appreciated. I am not exactly sure on where to start what I shouldn't loosen the restrictions on. At the moment my inbox is flooding with alerts from LFD such as: Suspicious process running under user postfix Excessive resource usage: haldaemon Account: haldaemon Resource: Process Time Exceeded: 1823 1800 (seconds) Executable: /usr/sbin/hald Command Line: hald PID: 1031 Killed: No Excessive resource usage: amavis Time: Tue Jun 5 12:43:35 2012 -0700 Account: amavis Resource: Virtual Memory Size Exceeded: 330 200 (MB) Executable: /usr/bin/perl Command Line: amavisd (virgin child) PID: 27931 Killed: No Excessive resource usage: apache Time: Tue Jun 5 12:35:33 2012 -0700 Account: apache Resource: Virtual Memory Size Exceeded: 437 200 (MB) Executable: /usr/sbin/httpd Command Line: /usr/sbin/httpd PID: 27286 Killed: No

  • How can I calculate the sum of all positive integers less than n?

    - by Adrian Godong
    I have the following function: f(n) = f(n - 1) + (n - 1) f(0) = 0 n >= 0 I have n declared on column A, and need the result of f(n) on column B. I'm trying to find the Excel formula equivalent for this function. Sample Result: A | B --+-- 0 | 0 or: A | B --+-- 1 | 0 or: A | B --+-- 4 | 6 but never: A | B --+-- 0 | 0 1 | 0 2 | 1 ... The biggest problem is, I can't simulate the value of f(n - 1). So referencing the previous row like the above example is invalid. I'm almost sure the answer is trivial, I just can't find it.

  • How to resolve virtual disk degraded in Windows Server 2012

    - by harrydev
    I am using the new Storage Spaces feature in Windows Server 2012. I have the following disks: FriendlyName CanPool OperationalStatus HealthStatus Usage Size ------------ ------- ----------------- ------------ ----- ---- PhysicalDisk2 False OK Healthy Auto-Select 2.73 TB PhysicalDisk3 False OK Healthy Auto-Select 2.73 TB PhysicalDisk4 False OK Healthy Auto-Select 2.73 TB PhysicalDisk5 False OK Healthy Auto-Select 2.73 TB There is also a separate OS disk. The above disks are part of a single storage pool: FriendlyName OperationalStatus HealthStatus IsPrimordial IsReadOnly ------------ ----------------- ------------ ------------ ---------- Pool OK Healthy False False Within this storage pool some virtual disks are defined, see below: FriendlyName ResiliencySettingNa OperationalStatus HealthStatus IsManualAttach Size me ------------ ------------------- ----------------- ------------ -------------- ---- Docs Mirror OK Healthy False 500 GB Data Mirror Degraded Warning False 500 GB Work Mirror Degraded Warning False 2 TB Now the virtual disks are all running normal 2-way mirror, but two of the virtual disks are degraded. This is probably because one of the physical disks was offline for a short period of time. However, now the virtual disk cannot be repaired, even though, all physical disks are healthy. There is plenty of available space in the storage pool. This I cannot understand so I was hoping for some help, on how to resolve this? Below I have listed the full output from the Get-VirtualDisk CmdLet for the "Work" disk: ObjectId : {XXXXXXXX} PassThroughClass : PassThroughIds : PassThroughNamespace : PassThroughServer : UniqueId : XXXXXXXX Access : Read/Write AllocatedSize : 412316860416 DetachedReason : None FootprintOnPool : 824633720832 FriendlyName : Work HealthStatus : Warning Interleave : 262144 IsDeduplicationEnabled : False IsEnclosureAware : False IsManualAttach : False IsSnapshot : False LogicalSectorSize : 512 Name : NameFormat : NumberOfAvailableCopies : 0 NumberOfColumns : 2 NumberOfDataCopies : 2 OperationalStatus : Degraded OtherOperationalStatusDescription : OtherUsageDescription : Disk for data being worked on (not backed up) ParityLayout : PhysicalDiskRedundancy : 1 PhysicalSectorSize : 4096 ProvisioningType : Thin RequestNoSinglePointOfFailure : True ResiliencySettingName : Mirror Size : 2199023255552 UniqueIdFormat : Vendor Specific UniqueIdFormatDescription : Usage : Other PSComputerName :

  • grails gsp test evaluates to false, but block is still rendered. Why?

    - by ?????
    I'm baffled with Grails test operator. This expression: <g:if test="${!(preferences.displayOption.equals('ANA') || preferences.displayOption.equals('FLOP'))} "> ${!(preferences.displayOption.equals('ANA') || preferences.displayOption.equals('FLOP'))} </g:if> prints false How can that be? I'm printing the exact same condition I'm testing for! even though I'm certain the test condition evaluates to 'false' because it prints false in the very next line, the statements inside the g:if are being rendered. Anu ideas as to what's going on.

  • Why is rails setting ":null => false" on all my columns in schema.rb?

    - by ryeguy
    Even if I never specify :null => false in my migrations that initially add columns to tables, rails still generates code in schema.rb that specifies the columns as having :null => false. Why is this? If I develop on my box, and then use rake db:schema:load on my production box, I'm going to get very different behavior! Edit: Even if I delete schema.rb and run rake db:schema:dump, it still puts :null => false on the new schema even if it isn't defined like that in the actual database. It seems it can't tell whether or not a column is marked as allowing nulls. I'm using SQLite if that helps.

  • How can I memoize a method that may return true or false in Ruby?

    - by Seamus Abshere
    Obviously ||= won't work def x? @x_query ||= expensive_way_to_calculate_x end because if it turns out to be false, then expensive_way_to_calculate_x will get run over and over. Currently the best way I know is to put the memoized true or false into an Array: def x? return @x_query.first if @x_query.is_a?(Array) @x_query = [expensive_way_to_calculate_x] @x_query.first end Is there a more conventional or efficient way of doing this?
