• Our Server Rooted but exploit doesnt work?

  Hi everyone. My friend's hosting server got rooted and we have traced some of attacker's commands.. We've found some exploits under /tmp/.idc directory.. We've disconnected the server and are now testing some local kernel exploits that the attacker tried on our server. Here is our kernel version: 2.4.21-4.ELsmp #1 SMP We think that he got root access by the modified uselib() local root exploit but the exploit doesn't work! loki@danaria {/tmp}# ./mail -l ./lib [+] SLAB cleanup child 1 VMAs 32768 The exploit hangs like this.. I've waited over 5 minutes but nothing has happened. I've also tried other exploits but they didn't work.. Any ideas? or experimentations with this exploit? Because we need to find the issue and patch our kernel but we can't understand how he used this exploit to get root... Thanks

• JavaScript accordion effect won't work, something to do with pseudoclass?

  I tried to make an accordion effect with JavaScript based off this video altering a few things like using an input button instead of a link for the selector. However for some reason it's not working. Firefox error console outputs unkown pseudo-class or pseudo-element "visible" everytime I try to use it. • Core Data fetchedresultscontroller question : what is "sections" for?

  Hi, I'm trying to get to know Core Data (I'm a noob at iPhone development) and in order to do this I'm trying to get an object from the fetchedresultscontroller and NSlog it's name (a property of the object). I tried to do it like this: NSArray *ar = [NSArray arrayWithArray:[fetchedResultsController sections]]; Task *t = [ar objectAtIndex:0]; NSLog(@"%@", t.taskName); However, the app crashed with this error: the app crashes with the error Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[_NSDefaultSectionInfo taskName]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3d1f670' I have since learned that you need to use the fetched objects property for this, but then what is sections for? • Best practice? Using DPM to backup VMs within each VM or through the host?

  We've got two Hyper-V hosts running multiple VMs (all flavors of Windows Servers). One of the VMs is running MS Data Protection Manager 2010, which runs beautifully (most of the time) and is connected to a separate NAS via iSCSI for the DPM storage. I noticed when I installed the DPM agent on the Hyper-V hosts, it enumerates the VMs in the DPM Protection listing. I don't want to burn through my storage space too fast with duplicate protection, so I was wondering: Is it recommended to back up VMs through the host, or is it better to install the DPM agent on each VM and backup as I would any other machine? It would seem as though most people (currently including me) do it the second way, but is there any advantage to including the entries under HyperV (Backup using Child Partition Snapshop)?

• jQuery change selected option's background on change of selected item

  I have a routine that dynamically changes a select list's "selected" option when the corresponding image from a carousel widget is clicked (it's a wordpress template selector). I'd just like to add a flash of background color, then fade to white, to give the user a visual cue that they've just changed the value of the template chooser select list. I've attempted at it below to assign the className "mySelectedOption" to the selected option, but its not working. • In Visio 2010, how can I create a mandatory, non-identifying relationship between two database tables

  I'm working in MS Visio 2010. This is the relevant part of my ERD: The relationship between Event and Adventure is correct: there's a foreign key from Event to Adventure, and that FK is part of Event's primary key. However, what I can't figure out is how to make the relationship line from Adventure to AccomodationType be the same, without making that relationship part of the PK of adventure. When I look at the 'Miscellaneous' properties of that relationship line, I want it to be: Cardinality: Zero or more Relationship type: Non-identifying Child has parent: Not optional (mandatory) But the checkbox for the third property is greyed out, and toggles between True/False as I make the relationship Non-identifying/Identifying. The only way I could figure out was to disconnect the two columns, from the 'Definition' tab, which then un-grey's the 'Optional' checkbox, but then I lose the foreign key property on the accomType column, and while the relationship symbols are correct, the line remains dotted. Any ideas, anyone?

• Can't resignFirstResponder with UITextView

  I have a UITextView. I implemented a navigationBar UIBarButtonItem to respond to a touch and resign the firstResponder for my UITextView. But, when the selector method is called, the keyboard doesn't get dismissed. I checked the UITextView's responder status with isFirstResponder and it returns YES. I also checked it with canResignFirstResponder and the return value is NO. I must be missing something here...why is it returning NO? I get that I can override canResignFirstResponder by subclassing UITextView, but I'd like to avoid that if possible. • No method found compiler warning

  I have create a class from a string, check it is valid and then check if it responds to a particular method. If it does then I call the method. It all works fine, except I get an annoying compiler warning: "warning: no '-setCurrentID:' method found". Am I doing something wrong here? Is there anyway to tell the compiler all is ok and stop it reporting a warning? • Change Titlewindow close button

  I'm working with Flex 3.4 SDK. I need to change the default close button image from a TitleWindow. So what I'm doing is defining a CSS selector, like this: TitleWindow{ close-button-skin: Embed('assets/close.png'); border-color: #FFFFFF; corner-radius: 10; closeButtonDisabledSkin: ClassReference(null); closeButtonDownSkin: ClassReference(null); closeButtonOverSkin: ClassReference(null); closeButtonUpSkin: ClassReference(null); } The problem is: the result image is totally squeezed beyond recognition. Probably because the image dimensions are 55x10 pixels (much wider than the default closebutton square-like dimensions) and flex forces it to fit that size. Would anyone know how to go about fixing that?

  Hello everyone I have a project using ASIHTTP to multi download files from a site when I add a new request: [networkQueue cancelAllOperations]; [networkQueue setDownloadProgressDelegate:a]; [networkQueue setDelegate:self]; [networkQueue setRequestDidFinishSelector:@selector(requestDone:)]; NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString:@"http://www.google.com"]; ASIHTTPRequest *request = [ASIHTTPRequest requestWithURL:url]; [request setDelegate:self]; [request startAsynchronous]; [networkQueue addOperation:request]; [networkQueue go]; it reported: * Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[ASINetworkQueue addOperation:]: operation is executing and cannot be enqueued' It looks like I can not add a new request when others are running.   I am looking for a most efficient way to re-use widgets with different selectors... For example if I have: $("#selector1").datepicker({ beforeShow: function(var1,var2) { // do stuff }, onClose: function(var1,var2) { // do stuff }, onSelect: function(var1,var2) { // do stuff } }) And later I am looking to assign this same widget with same functions inside to other selectors which are not known at load time.
