  • What is the best way to create a debugging web page for a computation in Java?

    I'm developing a website that uses some complex computations (NLP-related). My customer wants to have "debugging" webpages for some of these computations where he can run them with arbitrary input and see all the intermediate results that occur during computation. Before this request all of the computations were encapsulated in beans and intermediate results were logged into general log. What is the best way to capture all these results on Java level to render them as webpage?

    I have a string : var str = "12345a45";//position is 6 here now i want the position of 'a'(alphabet) in that string similarly i have few more string like this: var str1 = "1234567a45";//position is 8 here var str2 = "12345a4";//position is 6 here var str3 = "123a";//position is 4 here var str4 = "a45";//position is 1 here Now what i thought of doing is , just searching the string from last and know the occurrence of any alphabet in that strings. any help will be appreciated . thanks.

I am using JSON and json_encode in php, but the problem here is that I am passing a lot of numbers stored as strings - for example, numbers like 1.2345. Is there a way to pass the data directly as numbers (floats, integers) and not have to convert it to ASCII and then back? Thanks,

If the count is same for characters. maintain the original order of the characters from input string. my approach: i have used array of 26 for maintaining occurrence of all characters and sort it then print it.But while doing so i am not able to maintain order in case if two characters have same count. please suggest any improvement or any other algo.

    I'm reading a comma-delimited list of strings from a config file. I need to check whether another string is in that list. For example: "apple,banana,cheese" If I check for "apple" I should find it, but if I check for "app" I should not. What's the most straight-forward and concise way to do this? It doesn't have to be fast. (I'll add my solution as an answer, but I'm hoping someone has something better.)

    Hello, Is there a way to declare a string variable in python such that everything inside of it is automatically escaped, or has its literal character value? I'm NOT asking how to escape the quotes with slashes, that's obvious. What I'm asking for is a general purpose way for making EVERYTHING in a string literal so that I don't have to manually go through and escape everything for very large strings.     I've got a utility that outputs a list of files required by a game. How can I run that utility within a C program and grab its output so I can act on it within the same program? UPDATE: Good call on the lack of information. The utility spits out a series of strings, and this is supposed to be complete portable across Mac/Windows/Linux. Please note, I'm looking for a programmatic way to execute the utility and retain its output (which goes to stdout).

    So I have this existing command that accepts a single argument, but I need something that accepts the argument over stdin instead. A shell script wrapper like the following works, but as I will be allowing untrusted users to pass arbitrary strings on stdin, I'm wondering if there's potential for someone to execute arbitary commands on the shell. #!/bin/sh $CMD "`cat`" Obviously if $CMD has a vulnerability in the way it processes the argument there's nothing I can do, so I'm concerned stuff like this: Somehow allow the user to escape the double quotes and pass input into argument #2 of $CMD Somehow cause another arbitary command to run
