    When I initiate a class in Python, I give it some values. I then call method in the class which does something. Here's a snippet: class TestClass(): def __init__(self): self.counter = 0 def doSomething(self): self.counter = self.counter + 1 print 'Hiya' if __name__ == "__main__": obj = TestClass() obj.doSomething() obj.doSomething() obj.doSomething() print obj.counter As you can see, everytime I call the doSomething method, it prints some text and increments an internal variable i.e. counter. When I initiate the class, i set the counter variable to 0. When I destroy the object, I'd like to return the internal counter variable. What would be a good way of doing this? I wanted to know if there were other ways apart from doing stuff like: accessing the variable directly. Like obj.counter. creating a method like getCounter. Thanks.

  • Exchange Server 2007 is altering href value

    I am creating an email going out to internal users with the following code that has a link to an internal directory: <a href="\\abc\123">\\abc\123</a> And for whatever reason, the mail that comes in shows: \\abc\123 and the link points to /abc/123 I am suspecting Exchange Server of somehow altering the mail message to make it less "dangerous", but I am really stuck here since this is a network address, going to internal users! When they click the link it doesn't show the directory. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hi there, guys. I would really appreciate to get your help on this, as I can't seem to detect and solve the problem I'm having with an AJAX functionality on a site that I'm currently developing. I have a webform that makes an asynchronous call to a handler (.ashx) that delivers a XML response that is later processed by a Javascript client-side function that places it's contents into the user-interface. I'm attaching an example of the response generated by my handler, and what I would like to know is how can I get all the <body> element innerHTML (with the text and child nodes) contents to append it to a <span> element on the user-interface.     I erroneously wrote this code in python: name = input("what is your name?") if name == "Kamran" or "Samaneh": print("That is a nice name") else: print("You have a boring name ;)") It always prints out "That is a nice name" even when the input is neither "Kamran" nor "Samaneh". Am I correct in saying that it considers "Samaneh" as a true? why? By the way, I already noticed my mistake. The correct form is: if name == "Kamran" or name == "Samaneh":

    When I show a list of testplanViewModels in my View and the user selects one the SelectedTestplanId is returned to the Controller post action. What should also be returned is the TemplateId which belongs to the SelectedTestplanId. When the AutoMapper definition is run the Testplan.TestplanId is implicitly copied over to the TestplanViewModel.TestplanId. The same could be done by providing a TemplateId on the TestplanViewModel. When the user selects now a "TestplanViewModel" in the View, how can I attach the TemplateId to the controller action to access it there? The DropDownList does not allow 2 dataValueFields!     I'm trying to store a blooming season in month for each tree in SQLite3. Currently I had the field "month" then I store the month name in the field. For example Tree Name Month Tree1 Jan,Feb,Mar Tree2 Nov,Dec,Jan Tree3 Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr,May,Jun,Jul,Aug,Sep,Oct,Nov,Dec Tree4 Mar,Apr,Nov,Dec Tree5 Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr I'm not sure if this is the best way to store it, Any recommendation is appreciate. Secondly, I need to perform a query where I enter in the month and it should return me the tree name that match the search criteria. For example If I search for "Jan" the result should be Tree1,Tree2,Tree3,Tree5 "Jan,Feb,Mar" the result should be Tree1,Tree3,Tree5 "Jan,Feb,Mar,Apr" the result should be Tree5 "Sep,Oct,Nov,Dec" the result should be none Which SQL query do I have to use in order to obtain the above result?   • Environment variable (NLS_LANG) value altered in Java process?

    This was noticed in some legacy Java application (jre1.4 on HP-UX). Parent process (shell script S1) is starting Java process, which on its own is starting child process (shell script S2). Schematically it's: S1 Java S2. NB! Java application connects to Oracle DB using OCI driver. What is strange here is that process running S1 has environment variable NLS_LANG set to american_america.BLT8MSWIN1257, Java spawns S2 using: Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd); and S2 shows that NLS_LANG is set to american_america.UTF8 (!) This happens on some limited-access environment (production), I was not able to reproduce same problem on linux with jre 1.5. AFAIK, Java process should inherit environment from its parrent (S1) and should pass all environment variables to its child S2 (since single argument exec call was used). However, it does not seem to be the case. Any ideas why NLS_LANG appears to be altered?

So I modified my code according to that, and in the finally I inserted code that does not modify the output. Strangely, the code OUTSIDE the finally block does. My method always returns true. As suggested, it is not a good idea to have 2 return. What should I do?

    I'm attempting to use a Silverlight ComboBox with a static list of elements in a very simple binding scenario. The problem is the selected item is not returning me the Text of the TextBlock within the ComboBox and is instead returning "System.Windows.Controls.TextBlock". I've tried fiddling around with DisplayMemberPath and SelectedValuePath but haven't found the answer. I suspect it's something really simple I'm missing.
