• How to repaint a form so that it does not disappear on minimizing?

Now when i minimize the form and maximize it again, the waveform disappears.How to repaint it? I have seen people using paint event but i dont know how to use it after/inside the button click event. • How do I un-zoom compiz?

  I'm using a keyboard I'm not used to, and I hit Super_L instead of Alt_L when I middle-mouse-dragged across the screen. On this Ubuntu 10.04 with Compiz, apparently, this zooms the screen to the area that I dragged across. Now I'm stuck. I can super-middle-drag across a bigger area, but apparently I can't quite hit all of the corners exactly because the screen still moves a bit when I move the mouse around. How do I undo this zoom effect completely? This looks like "EZoom", which says that super-"1" (default keybinding, anyway) should reset it, but that doesn't seem to work here. Close...

• What's the cross-browser way to capture all single clicks on a button?

  What's the best way to execute a function exactly once every time a button is clicked, regardless of click speed and browser? Simply binding a "click" handler works perfectly in all browsers except IE. In IE, when the user clicks too fast, only "dblclick" fires, so the "click" handler is never executed. Other browsers trigger both events so it's not a problem for them. The obvious solution/hack (to me at least) is to attach a dblclick handler in IE that triggers my click handler twice. Another idea is to track clicks myself with mousedown/mouseup, which seems pretty primitive and probably belongs in a framework rather than my application. So, what's the best/usual/right way of handling this? (pure javascript or jQuery preferred)

  I have a little problem with adding EventListener to multiple objects on stage. I have above 40 buttons on stage named "Button01","Button02" .. "Button40", and i'm looking for easiest way to add EventListener to all of them. Creating something like Button01.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, doSomething) Button02.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, doSomething) .. Button40.addEventListener(MouseEvent.Click, doSomething) (Notice the same function). isn't solution i'm looking for :(. Thanks in advice.

  Hello to all. I need to implement parent page redirection from iframe. I know that it is impossible to do in different domains due to browsers security. However I found that links have target attribute and tried to use it in the following way: <a href="http://google.com" target="_top" id="testParentRedirect">someLink</a> It works fine if I click this link manually, but I couldn't find cross-browser solution to simulate it using javascript. document.getElementById('testParentRedirect').click(); This works fine in IE, however Firefox and Safary don't know click function :). I tried to work with jquery, but for some reason they don't simulate click event for links. (see following post) I couldn't find any appropriate solution on stackoverflow. Maybe someone could help me in it. I will appreciate it. :)

• Dell Vostro 1510 trackpad

  A week ago I moved totally from Windows 7 to Ubuntu. I've been really happy with the transition bar one annoying glitch. My trackpad sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. All other hardware including peripherals work flawlessly, including a Logitech ball mouse, Wacom Bamboo pen and touch and wireless Logitech keyboard and mouse combo. I can't see any pattern to when and why the trackpad works. Occasionally on rebooting, it will work, but then I can reboot 10x in a row and it won't work, then I leave it a day, then reboot and it works flawlessly. Any ideas on a solution or appropriate method for me to deb it? My knowledge of Ubuntu/Linux is sketchy at best so I could do with a little help :)

• Ubuntu "Server" but with a better terminal?

  I'm currently using Ubuntu Server installed in VirtualBox for running various server services. The only drawback it posses for me is that I cannot use mouse in the terminal and select/copy/paste stuff. What would be an alternative in this situation to get a better terminal? I guess Ubuntu Server itself doesn't support mouse, so I'd have to go for Ubuntu Desktop, but it seems like a huge waste of resources to run Unity/Gnome3 in VirtualBox only to have a terminal. So then I'm wondering whether Xubuntu/Lubuntu would be suitable alternatives, although they still take a lot of time to boot up, etc. Any ideas how to solve this scenario?

• jQuery: If user clicks out of div

  I am creating a popup in query. All is well with the popup on hover. I made it see a timer starts when user's mouse leaves the div to close it. If he enters the div again before the timer is done, then the timer is cleared. This is fine, but what if a user clicks out of the div? I want that to also close the div. The only problem is that I don't want to attach click events to the wrapper on the page (because it includes the popout menu). I have seen techniques that wraps entire screen with a transparent div, and then attach a click event to hit. Although this may work, it confuses the user if he clicks the hidden div intending to click a link. He will have to click the link twice. Once two close the div (hiding the link), and another time to actually click think. Also, you loose in mouse cursors attached to any masked elements on the page (such as links cursor pointer, etc). There has to be a way to check if the user clicked out of the div without a modal and without attaching events to the entire page (page wrappers and child elements included). onclicksomewhereelse="closeme();" lol.

• localize many images in Xcode at once?

  I have this project that i need to add a translation to. I already know how to add localisation to single image files, but there are 200+ images with text on it in that project. Do i really have to click one file at a time, "get info", click "add localisation" enter the Language and click OK for every file? When i select multiple images the languages and do those steps the new language is not added :-/ Please someone have a way to save me from insanity ;-) Thanks! S

• Problems after upgrading from 10.04 to 12.04

  I upgraded to 12.04.1 from 10.04 recently and am running the Gnome Classic (no effects) desktop. I spent a couple of days tweaking the appearance and behaviour but there are two issues that I can't resolve. The mouse cursor frequently disappears, especially when scrolling through web pages or hovering over links/icons with tooltips. Moving the mouse brings the pointer back but it vanishes again almost immediately. Note I don't have unclutter or Parallels installed. The screen no longer fades to black when left idle for too long - it just cuts out. Bad news when watching content online. Any tips greatly appreciated. Cheers...

• Detecting pixels in a rotated Texture2D in XNA?

  I know things similar to this have been posted, but I'm still trying to find a good solution... I'm drawing Texture2D objects on the ground in my game, and for Mouse-Over or targeting methods, I'm detecting whether or not the pixel in that Texture at the mouse position is Color.Transparent. This works perfectly when I do not rotate the texture, but I'd like to be able to rotate textures to add realism/variety. However, I either need to create a new Texture2D that is rotated at the correct angle so that I can detect its pixels, or I need to find some other method of detection... Any thoughts?

  i use gnome classic, i'm not a mouse fan. when i get an email while i'm writing code, i i would super+s to get to the indicator-applet-complete and read it. also to write emails, or check unread instant messages. upgrading from 12.04 to 14.04 made super+s bind to applications menu rather than the indicator applet complete. i removed the binding from the applications using dconf-editor, navigating to: org-gnome-desktop-wm-keybindings and disabling (['disabled']) the panel-main-menu key. now, how do i bind super+s to the indicator applet complete? it seems to be some how binded, since if if press super+s and then move the cursor over the applet it'll open the drop down menus (and it won't if i hover without pressing super+s) but i don't want to have to use the mouse...

(I have already a .jar file in the lib folder of my project.)   Laptop Specs: HP Pavilion G6-2020SE GPUs 1) ATI HD7000 Series 2) Intel Integrated OS Installed: x) Ubuntu 12.04 (64 bit) i) ATI Graphics Card Drivers Installed From AMD website. Note: Graphics Card Drivers are Working Fine in 3D Mode. It runs a little Hot as it should since its a GPU. Observation) AMD Catalyst Control Centre Lets me Choose If I want to run the system in HIGH-END (ATI GPU) OR Intel Integrated (Better battery life) While I am on High End GPU Choice, Ubuntu works fine. Problem) But when I switch to Intel Mode in the AMD CCC and reboot the Machine. Ubuntu goes into 'Low Graphics Mode'. The problem is not that it goes into low graphics mode, it is completely expected since I am no longer using the ATI GPU but the integrated Intel GPU. Problem starts with the 'Selection' of the options. During that screen, I have no mouse on the screen (even tried plugging in an external USB mouse) & No Keyboard functionality. Thus I am left completely disabled to choose any option and load into Ubuntu. The Only thing I can do is switch to a terminal and enable ATI GPU through command-line and Ubuntu works Fine again. Is it a bug that there is no mouse/keyboard available to me during the startup of Ubuntu when its launched in Low-Graphics Mode? Any suggestions on how to pass through that? My palms are sweating as I write this down because the ATI GPU is really heating up my laptop. I dont want to boot into Windows or keep it around any longer than necessary. Please advise with help and directions. Sincerely, MonkeyD Edit1: The Answer by Celso has helped me switch to Intel, thus giving me sufficient battery power. Kudos to Celso. Now I can at least use my laptop for the time being without having it burn hair off my skin. I am still looking for answer to my original question of, 'why is lightdm not working properly when I switch to Intel GPU using ATI HD7000 series official drivers provided by AMD'.

  I got an app with tabs and a notification bar entry, when I send it to background (click on home button) and try to re-open the application via click on the notification bar, the app restarts (last selected tab is lost). When I hold the home button if the application is in the background and select it from there or click the app's icon on the homescreen, the previous state is restored per default (the correct tab is selected) IMO the intent of the notification is wrong, but I'm not sure how to fix it. In short: How to get a background application back to foreground when I click the notification entry? thx!

• Ubuntu freezes when gdm starts

  I have Ubuntu 10.10 (upgraded from 10.04) I was browsing in Firefox yesterday, then the PC suddenly did a reset Once it restarted, everything went normal until gdm begun showing. Then everything froze and locked when userlist showed. I can't move mouse pointer nor do anything with keyboard at this point (just after userlist shows in gdm). PS: Both, mouse and keyboard work fine, because this Ubuntu is dual-booting with a Windows XP install which loads/works fine. • How can I fix indicator's behaviour?

  I recently switched to Ubuntu 11.10 from Windows. The panel has been acting really weird lately. What happens is when I click on sound icon to change volume, the menu for Bluetooth connectivity pops up. When I try to hover over the popped up menu, the latter disappears the moment I move my mouse. It is just not one icon that has been troubling me. When I click on network icon in the panel, it pops-up the menu for Chat and then the popped-up Chat menu just disappears as soon as there is a movement of the mouse. I hope I was able to explain my situation. I am sure you must be aware of this issue. Please advise. Thanks.

• CF - DataGrid onClick event (or similar) for the cell / row ?

  I want to use DataGrid. I parse the data from an XML. In the XML for each row i have a tag that holds a specific command. I want that the user can click on any cell of the row (or a specific one), and i need to catch the click event execute the command and redirect to another form... I can do this with custom control made of panels and buttons and such ... but can u use DataGrid to achieve this? Also i tested Datagrid and i noticed that on some emulators (like 6.5 VGA) clicking the cells dont work. I can click the first cell in a row, but i cannot click the second... third... etc. Any suggestions?
