• Microsoft 2003 DNS sometimes cant query for some A pointers when their TTL expires

  Warning Long question :) We have a win 2003 server with a DNS server, every now and then it cant provide us with some A pointers for a specific domain. I have a small script running which asks for SOA,NS and A records for the domain in question and sometimes when the TTL expires the DNS fails to get the A records again, a Clear Cache fixes the problem.. • Is there a way to prevent a message from accidentally being sent?

  I am terrified of accidentally sending a reply before I'm finished editing it. Usually what I do is either: copy the email into word, edit in word, then hit reply-to-all in outlook, paste in my text, and send. hit reply-to-all, delete the recipient names, edit, add the recipient names, and send. Is there a way to 'lock' the email so I can't send it while I'm making edits in Outlook? I hate having to switch between programs just so I can edit.

I seriously need some advice on getting MCTS certified (Windows Communication Foundation Development) I just cannot go to a MS certification courses as they are very expensive here and far from my hometown. I want to self educate myself and I don't know where to start with. My problem is finding good study materials and sample exam questions.   I have a web service built for SharePoint 2007 that I am trying to port to SharePoint 2010. This web service is dependent on session state to function properly, but so far, I have been enable to get session state to work at all in SharePoint 2010. This web service runs as its own web application under t he /_vti_bin virtual directory. I have tried all of the following with no luck: Ensured the "State Service" service application is running. Added the System.Web.SessionState.SessionStateModule http module to my application's web.config file. Added the System.Web.SessionState.SessionStateModule http module to my SharePoint root web.config file. Added <pages enableSessionState="true" /> to my application's web.config file. Added <pages enableSessionState="true" /> to my root web.config file. Additional Environment info: Visual Studio 2008 - SP1 .NET 3.5 - SP1 SharePoint 2010 - RC Windows Server 2008 R2 ASMX web service (not WCF) Had anyone had any luck getting a web application or web service to use session state in SharePoint 2010 yet?   Hi, VS 2010 solution and Silverlight project builds fine, then: I open MyView.xaml view in Expression Blend 4 Add sample data from class (I use my class defined in the same project) after I add new sample design data with Expression blend 4, everything looks fine, you see the added sample data in the EB 4 fine, you also see the data in VS 2010 designer too. Close the EB 4, and next VS 2010 build is giving me this errors: Error 7 XAML Namespace http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008 is not resolved. C:\Code\source\...myview.xaml and: Error 12 Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ... TestSampleData.xaml when I open the TestSampleData.xaml I see that namespace for my class used to define sample data is not recognized. However this namespace and the class itself exist in the same project! If I remove the design data from the MyView.xaml: d:DataContext="{d:DesignData /SampleData/TestSampleData.xaml}" it builds fine and the namespace in TestSampleData.xaml is recognized this time?? and then if add: d:DataContext="{d:DesignData /SampleData/TestSampleData.xaml}" I again see in the VS 2010 designer sample data, but the next build fails and again I see studio cant find the namespace in my TestSampleData.xaml containing sample data. That cycle is driving me crazy. Am I missing something here, is it not possible to have your class defining sample design data in the same project you have the MyView.xaml view?? cheers Valko

  Okay, I'll admit being a designer, I don't know much about how data is handled from the servers in forms... (basically the whole programming part). Basically I have a text field that the user types something like "apple", this gets sent to the server and then displays the apple.html page that I have in a directory in an IFrame. If anyone can show me how to do this in a PHP script or Perl, would be great thanks! I think this is good start, it gets more complicated than this... I later have to convert the "apple" into something like 2321 and display 2321.html instead. If anyone can find a CGI script that does this, thanks!

  The issue is: Outlook 2013 simply will not give a preview of Word (nor Excel) docs in attachments. Never had the issue with Outlook 2010. Using Outlook 2013 on Windows 7 64bit SSD with Word 2010. I did notice that "Microsoft Word" is not listed specifically in Trust Center attachment handling, could that be part of the problem? Excel, Visio, RTF and many more are there. Update: strange, search can be performed in Word attachments... but can't preview Word file. So, Outlook can 'see' Word docs but won't let us have that preview. For reference, here is a similar question I posted in the Microsoft Answers forum.

  I have a record set for inspections of many peices of equipment. The four cols of interest are equip_id,month,year,myData. My requirment is to have EXACTLY ONE Record per month for each peice of equipment. I have a quiery that makes the data unique over equip_id,month,year. So there is no more than one record for each month/year for a peice of equipment. But now I need to simulate data for the missing month. I want to simply go back in time to get the last peice of my data. So that may seem confusing, so i'll show by example. Given this: equip_id month year myData 1 1 2010 500 1 2 2010 600 1 5 2010 800 2 2 2010 300 2 4 2010 400 2 6 2010 500 I want this: equip_id month year myData 1 1 2010 500 1 2 2010 600 1 3 2010 600 1 4 2010 600 1 5 2010 800 2 2 2010 300 2 3 2010 300 2 4 2010 400 2 5 2010 400 2 6 2010 500 Notice that im filling in missing data with the data from the month ( or two months etc.) before. Also note that if the first record for equip 2 is in 2/2010 than I don't need a record for 1/2010 even though I have one for equip 1. I just need exactly one record for each month/year for each peice of equipment. So if the record does not exsist I just want to go back in time and grab the data for that record. Thanks!!!

On my windows computer, it returns: string 'German_Germany.1252' (length=19) string 'ISO-8859-1' (length=10) boolean true string 'UTF-8' (length=5) string 'EUC-JP' (length=6) boolean true string 'UTF-8' (length=5) string 'weißbier' (length=9) On the webserver (linux), I get: string(10) "de_DE.utf8" string(10) "ISO-8859-1" bool(true) string(5) "UTF-8" string(10) "ISO-8859-1" bool(true) string(5) "UTF-8" string(9) "weissbier" Thus, the regex works as I expected on windows but not on linux. So the main question is, how should I write my regex to only match at word boundaries? A secondary questions is how I can let windows know that I want to use utf-8 in my php application.

Here is my setup and what causes the problem: I have 2 computers and one mobile which all sync through a googlemail account. But after also synching the contacts, each Outlook instance creates a birthday event for that contact. So I end up with 2 Birthday reminders.   On my mailbox server, I am receiving the alert: MSExchange Calendar Attendant\Requests Failed Or in Solarwinds Requests Failed (Calendar Attendant) for Exchange 2010 Mailbox Role Counters (Advanced) on *servername* All I know is this figure should be 0 at all times. Currently I am at 2 and this is the only alert on the Exchange servers. No where I can find how to resolve this. How can I fix this? thank you

  Hi all, I have been trying to upgrade our TFS 2005 to TFS 2010 but with no luck so far. I went through the TFS Installation guide and many upgrade guides but with no luck in overcoming the issue I am facing which seems to be unique and different to other described issues. In our company, we have a domain forest with several domains. Lets say domain A, B, and C. TFS is in domain A and has users from all these three domains. All domains have trust reltionships between them. However, domain C was deleted several months ago. With a bit of googling, I figured out that TFSConfig Identities command can be used to remap users from one domain to the other. I went ahead and created local users that matches the users we have from domain C and ran the TFSConfig Identities /Change command and it executed successfully. However, I still get the same error. I am stuck and can't figure out how to move forward :( I need your expertise, has anyone faced this issue before? Do I need to change these identities on TFS 2005 before I commence the upgrade? I forgot to mention, I am following the upgrade with a move approach. I created a virtual machine for testing the upgrade. Installed SQL server 2008, restored the TFS databases and installed TFS 2010 and ran the upgrade wizard. Regards, Nadeem

The service just hangs on "starting" during the boot up phase. this make the server really slow to boot and the backup exec service does not start at all. i ran a hotfix that was supposed to fix it but it has not. That's great, but is it also possible to tell the prerequitiinstaller to download the files and keep them in its prerequisite directory?
