  • Looking for PCA snippet/source code in C++

    Hi, I'm currently developing a software to compare 2 images. I start with extract the image's RGB values, form a matrix of array and then attempt to compress the values using PCA, and then match/recognize it with a pre-set data to find its similarity. But I can't proceed with the PCA part. (I'm using C++, C also can) If there any library/source code/snippet for it please let me know, or if there're any recommendation on my case also very welcomed!! I'd appreciate your helps!! Thanks!   • Preventing multiple reporting of the same rule violation in FxCop -- What is Id?

    FxCop is currently reporting the same rule violation for a particular method -- it has two out parameters, because I want to return two values to the caller without creating a struct for it. I wonder if anonymous types would solve my problem, but I didn't know about them at the time I had written the method. Anyhow, I'm getting CheckId CA1021 reported once for each parameter. I've copied the SuppressMessage text from FxCop, and then realized that the Id for each message is different! To me, it seems like you only need the CheckId, so... what is the Id used for? I haven't been able to find information about it online. will the Id remain the same? I assume so, or SuppressMessage wouldn't work the way one would want it to is there a way to specify the SuppressMessage attribute so that it suppresses for all Ids?

    I'm quite new to Qt and am wondering on some basic stuff with memory management and the life of objects. When do I need to delete / destroy my objects? Is any of this handled automatically? In the example below, which of the objects I create do I need to delete? What happens to the instance variable myOtherClass when myClass is destroyed? What happens if I don't delete / destroy my objects at all, will that be a problem to memory? in MyClass.h: class MyClass { public: MyClass(); ~MyClass(); MyOtherClass *myOtherClass; }; in MyClass.cpp: MyClass::MyClass() { myOtherClass = new MyOtherClass(); MyOtherClass myOtherClass2; QString myString = "Hello"; } As you can see this is quite newbie-easy stuff but where can I learn about this in an easy way?   • Grabbing random object from ArrayList is not random.

    I am creating a method where if you pass in a parameter of type Random, then it will return a random object. Here is basically what I am trying to do: public T choose(Random r) { int randomInt = r.nextInt(randomList.size()); // randomList is just a instance variable return randomList.get(randomInt); } The random list has this the following strings:[2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, c, c, c, a, a, a, a] Then I made a driver with the following code for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { System.out.print(rndList.choose(rnd)); // rnd is initialized as a static Random variable } However my outputs are not coming out random. I used the debugger and found out that my choose method generates an integer that is relatively low, so it will always print out either 2's or 1's but never c's or a's. I can't figure out why this is happening and help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi! I have a js function that is named getID which is basically return document.getElementById(id) I want to make another function, getTag that would return getElementsByTagName. The part that I can't seem to manage is that I want to be able to call them like this: getID('myid').getTag('input') = so this would return all the input elements inside the element with the id myid Thanks! ps: getTag would also have to work if it's called by it's own, but then it would just return document.getElementsByTagName

  • Is there a name for a language feature that allows assignment/creation?

    This is a bit hard for me to articulate, but in PHP you can say something like: $myArray['someindex'] = "my string"; and if there is no index named that, it will create/assign the value, and if there IS an index, it will overwrite the existing value. Compare this to Javascript where today I had to do checks like so: if (!myObject[key]) myObject[key] = "value"; I know this may be a bit of a picky point, but is there a name for the ability of PHP (and many other languages) to do these checks on their own as opposed to the more verbose (read: PITA) method of Javascript?

Edit: The only way I've found to tell pylint to not warn about these warnings is by blocking all errors of the type (E1101) which is not an acceptable solution, since that is (in my opinion) an extremely useful error. Most of the time (approx 90%) when the tab or browser containing the control is closed, there is an access violation like this: The thread 'Win32 Thread' (0x1bf0) has exited with code 0 (0x0). Unhandled exception at 0x77b3b9fd in iexplore.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x65007408. The access violation occurs after the call to OnDestroy() but before the call to the control's destructor. The debug output says: No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed. None of my code is present in the stacktrace, although perhaps the heap was corrupted at some earlier point during execution. What lifecycle events does an ActiveX control receive between the call to OnDestroy() and the control's destructor?

  • What do the square brackets in LaTeX logs mean?

    I'm currently working on a parser that reads complete LaTeX logs. Most of the log format is, though weird, easy to figure out, but these square brackets are puzzling me. Here's an example from near the end of one of my logs: Overfull \hbox (10.88788pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 40--40 []$[]$ [] [102]) [103] Kapitel 14. (./Thermo-141-GrenzenFundamentalpostulat.tex [104 ]) (./Thermo-142-Mastergleichung.tex [105]) (./Thermo-143-HTheorem.tex [106pdfTeX warning (ext4): destination with the same identifier (name{equation.14.3.3}) ha s been already used, duplicate ignored Can anybody give me a hint what these square brackets mean? I can't see any structure in them. I have the suspicion that lines 2/3 above are some kind of ASCII art representing the box layout, though I know too less about badboxes to justify this or identify the meaning of the single characters. Then, the "[104" etc. seem to correspond to the page numbers, but I am still not seeing the reason why there is sometimes something inbetween the square brackets (like the pdfTeX warning above), and sometimes not.

    If I were to extricate my current membership provider from my solution, i.e. as a dll and expose it as a web service with it's own db, how would I model the relationships with regards to SOA design. For example I have a table: USER id, name, lastname, username, password, role. and table PRODUCT id, name, price, createdate, userid the foreign key being userid to table user. How would I model the relationship and/or query the db. If I wanted to get all products that were uploaded today for example, before I would query: SELECT u.name, u.lastname, u.username, p.* FROM PRODUCT p INNER JOIN USER u ON p.userid = u.id WHERE createdate = '05/05/2010' Now that I don't have the table within the database how would I perform this query?     One thing that has bothered me about C# since its release was the lack of a generic IsNumeric function. I know it is difficult to generate a one-stop solution to detrmine if a value is numeric. I have used the following solution in the past, but it is not the best practice because I am generating an exception to determine if the value is IsNumeric: public bool IsNumeric(string input) { try { int.Parse(input); return true; } catch { return false; } } Is this still the best way to approach this problem or is there a more efficient way to determine if a value is numeric in C#?

    Hi all, In php we can assign a method name to a variable and then use that variable to call the method. For example: $image_create_func = 'ImageCreateFromGIF'; $newImage = $image_create_func($oldImage); But can we do this in Flex? In flex, I have the string public var key:String = "email" And I also have a value object searchTerm:SearchTermVO which has a public property "email" (searchTerm.email). Now I want to do searchTerm.email by doing something like in php: searchTerm.key but it's not possible. Can anybody help me with this plz? Thank you.

    I've got a model like this: Stem -id -etc And then I have Stemrelation -stem_id -related_stem_id -active I can get the related stems with the following relations class Stem < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :stemrelations has_many :related_stems, :through => :stemrelations end class Stemrelation < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :stem belongs_to :related_stem, :class_name => "Stem", :foreign_key => "related_stem_id" end But now I'd only like to get the active relations. I tried adding this to the Stem model: has_many :active_related, :through => :stemrelations, :source => :related_stem, :conditions => {:active => true} but this gives me an error becasue it tries to check the active flag on the stem model instead of the stemrelation. What do I change here? Thanks!

Since the email message being retrieved by the program is in plain text format with all the headers and message body with in the same, its too difficult to extract each header and mail body from the raw string.
