• Offline translator for the iPhone?

  Is there a translator app for the iPhone that can be downloaded and run without an internet connection? I'd especially like an English-Vietnamese one, since it's hard to get WiFi in the village area where I'm staying. I would happily pay up to $15 for this. But say you started a process that turned out to take much longer than one expected, is there a way of pulling, so to speak, this process from another terminal screen into the background so that even if I log off from the server the process would continue?

  Once I have a dump of a computer crash/freeze, what are some tools and steps to take in order to troubleshoot crash based off of the dump itself? I am looking for tools to isolate what processes or issues are causing the crash, and also good techniques in troubleshoot the actual dump itself. Once I've determined what the "troublesome" process has been, what do I do to troubleshoot the issue? For example if I determine process foo.exe or bar.dll etc, is the problematic file how do I determine what can be done?

• Nginx 500 Internal Server error on subdirectory

  I'm getting a 500 Internal Server error only on sub directories. For example, If my website is example.com, example.com/index.php works. But example.com/phpbb/index.php doesn't work. It just turns up a blank php page. The HTTP header shows HTTP error 500 Internal Server error. If I enter example.com/phpbb/index.php/somedirectory, the index.php of my root directory shows up. This is all very strange. I have tried searching etc but nothing worked. tried re-installing nginx but not fixed. I'm sure I got the DNS configured right. • How to let mod_wsgi only handle certain URLs under Apache?

  I have a Django app that handles "/admin/" and "/myapp/". All the other requests should be handled by Apache. I've tried using LocationMatch but then I'd have to write a negative regex. I've tried WSGIScriptAlias with the /admin/ prefix but then the wsgi_handler receives the request with the /admin/ part cut off. Is there a cleaner way to make mod_wsgi only handle certain requests?

  I have a multi-functional machine which is both a laser printer and a scanner (Samsung SC-4705ND) I am not able to make the scanner work with the (software) firewall installed in my computer turned on. Operating system is ubuntu 12.04 with regular firewall. if firewall is turned off then everything works as expected I run nmap to discover open services on the samsung machine and I opened all these ports: 80, 427, 515, 631, 5200, 9100, 10001 but with not luck.. How should I configure firewall?

• How can I monitor a Smart-UPS 2200 in PRTG?

• Cannot install PC Tools firewall

• Slow SSD Read on Server 2008 SP2

  Im using a Intel X25-M 80G with the latest firmware. on XP /w using IDE and WIN7 using AHCI I get read speeds up to 250MB/S. But when running it with Server 2008 SP1 or SP2 on AHCI, I get read speeds around 180MB/S. Ive updated drivers for 2008, tested with writecache on/off. Any input would be appreciated. thanks!

  I have a brand new installation of Jenkins 1.417 on Ubuntu 11.6, trying to talk to an active directory. I have the Active Directory plugin installed. If I leave off the base DN and password, the 'test' button claims success, while actual authentication fails. If I put in a user name and password on the domain, the test button fails (just as above). Is there some tweak required to the AD configuration to allow something like Jenkins to talk to it?

  I cannot ssh in (using putty) when I use 10.0.1.31 as the address. database server - wired switch part of Asus wireless router - office LAN So basically, we want to ssh in to the database server from our computer on the wired office LAN. Asus router has an ip of 10.0.1.31 and database server has a static IP of 192.168.0.20 I set up port forwarding like this: ssh 22 192.168.0.20 22 BOTH Firewall is turned completely off. • raid 6 vs raid 10? which would you choose.

  my choice would be raid 6 for a file server since you can lose two drives and it does not matter which set of two can die. from what i understand with raid 10 you can lose two drives but if they happen to be off the same raid 1 then you are a out of luck? any suggestions? basic file server with about 200gb of data and it would act as a single point of backup for other workstations and servers. thanks in advance.

  Apache is receiving requests at port :80 and proxying them to Jetty at port :8080 The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server The proxy server could not handle the request GET /. My dilemma: Everything works fine normally (fast requests, few seconds or few tens of seconds long requests are processed ok). Problems occur when request processing takes long (few minutes?).   Whenever I right-click something in windows explorer other than favorites, libraries, computer, or network (the main headings in the left pane), the drop-down menu does not appear and an error pops up "windows explorer has stopped working" - "windows explorer is restarting". Once those both close the icons on the desktop and taskbar itself blink off and back on again. Is there any way of finding out what is going on when I right click and this problem ensues?

• Why do some games randomly turn my screen a random solid color?

  When playing some games my computer will randomly have an error that I cannot fix without turning it off and back on again. The screen changes to one solid color, which varies (off the top of my head I can remember seeing solid green, magenta, etc..) and the sound blares a single tone. The sound sometimes briefly restores and I can still hear the game sounds and even hear and still be heard by people in my Mumble channel, but the screen doesn't right itself so I'm still blind. What's more is this happens in some games but not in others. While the game is actually running, not while I'm still in the menu. However, it does happen if I'm afk or idle but the game world is still rendering. Games where the error occurs: League of Legends World of Warcraft Trine The Sims 2 Dungeon Defenders Safe games: games where it has never occurred: Tribes: Ascend Star Wars: the Old Republic Battlefield 3 So relatively older games cause the problem while newer games do not? I cannot predict when it will happen, it just seems random. However, if it happens and I try playing the same game further after restart it does appear to occur more frequently after the first time. But if I switch to a safe game it doesn't continue happening. Both of my RAM sticks appear fine, flipped position or either one on their own and games still run, computer still boots. I would think over-heating, but then why not all games? ALso, sometimes it happens immediately after I start playing, within seconds of the 3D world booting up. I'm looking to upgrade very soon so I want to figure out what component or software is fubar and replace/repair it. Any suggestions or recommendations of tools would be helpful. So, I've got it working fine, and it does what I want to do, which is: Lost connectivity between the two nodes gives the first node '10node' both Failover Wan IPs. (aka resources WanCluster100 and WanCluster101 ) '11node' does nothing. He "thinks" he still has his Failover Wan IP. (aka WanCluster101) But it doesn't do this: '11node' should restart the WanCluster101 resource when the connectivity with the other node is back. This is to prevent a condition where node10 simply dies (and thus does not get 11node's Failover Wan IP), resulting in a situation where none of the nodes have 10node's failover IP because 10node is down 11node has "given back" his failover Wan IP. • Recovering files using Recuva

  I'm currently using Recuva to recover some files from an external NTFS disk. It finds the files I'm interested in during it's analysis phase (when tools like test-disk fail to find them at all) and reports them as "Not-deleted" and a big green marker to signify 100% chance of recovery. However when it tries to recover the files I get a "the system could not find the file specified" message. Is there any easy way to recover non-deleted files off of a disc that I can no longer simply access through explorer?
