  • Snow Leopards Desktop Icons keeps Resizing Repeatedly

    I'm using a new macbook 10.6.5. I've been using mac OS for years. However, the problem that I'm getting is that the desktop icons keep resizing repeatedly. It keeps going to the biggest size possible and its driving me crazy. I've been resizing it back to medium size all the time. But when I start doing something at the finder it starts resizing by itself once again. Is there a fix to this problem? Please help.

  • Multiple thunderbird Icons in System Tray(Windows 7) & TaskBar

    Is this some new "feature" for thunderbird 8? When I start thunderbird it starts by opening thunderbird. Once it is loading thunderbird it loads another 6 thunderbirds. The windows are called Mozilla Thunderbird Inbox - [email protected] - Mozilla Thuderbird Inbox - [email protected] - Mozilla Thuderbird Inbox - [email protected] - Mozilla Thuderbird Inbox - [email protected] - Mozilla Thuderbird (yes it repeats the same one a few times) Inbox - [email protected] - Mozilla Thuderbird I have 7 email accounts but for whatever reason it only made 3 windows. What happened to the one window? When I minimize to tray I got 4 of thunderbird icons. When closing one of them all of the close. My other windows 7(32 bit not 64 bit) only have one instance.

  • Not possible to extract tar.gz archive in Centos

    I have just uploaded tar.gz archive to my Centos server from my home Windows 7 computer. Before that, it was extracted from .zip archive. When I try to extract it: tar -xvf file.tar.gz gunzip file.tar.gz It always give me error: "not in gzip format" The archive is not corrupted, because it is possible to extract it in Windows with Winrar. The archive is quite big, more than 100 MB. I don't know, what's the problem. Could you help me please? Thanks. Peter

  • Delphi Shell IExtractIcon usage and result

    What I do: Try to extract thumbnail using IExtractImage if that fail I try to extract icons using IExtractIcon, to get maximum iconsize, but IExtractIcon gives strange results. Problem is I tried to use a methode that extracts icons from an imagelist but if there is no large icon (256x256) it will render the smaller icon at the topleft position of the icon and that does not look good. That is why I am trying to use the IExtractIcon instead. But icons that show up as 256x256 icons in my imagelist extraction methode reports icon sizes as 33 large and 16 small. So how do I check if a large (256x256) icon exists?     I'm trying to extract new revisions of Chromium.app from their snapshots, and I can download the file fine, but when it comes to extracting it, ZipFile either extracts the chrome-mac folder within as a file, says that directories don't exist, etc. I am very new to python, so these errors make little sense to me.     I have developed an addin for Visual Studio 2008, which extends the main menu with custom menu items. These menu items have custom images and I finally managed to have them displayed correctly using transparency masks. The only problem that still persists is, that the icons look really ugly and unprofessional, when the menu items are disabled. Instead of getting grayed out smoothly, the icons become flat gray chunks.

Recently, when I minimize files in any application the files disappear - no icon that I can find, showing how to bring to a dominant window any of the minimized files. I search, can't find, have to re-boot app., and lose data. Not good. When I minimize files, where do they go, how do I reopen them, and how can I change it so icons for all minimized files remain visible? Thanks

  • How can I identify a mystery tray icon in Windows 7?

    A new icon has appeared in my tray in Windows 7 recently - a black square with a white A in it: It doesn't have any tooltip or right-click context menu so I haven't been able to identify which process it belongs to. I tried using the "Find Window's Process" tool in Process Explorer but that won't identify individual tray icons. Short of killing processes until it disappears, is there a good way to identify which process this icon belongs to?
