    On the server I'm making every day a backup with rdiff-backup like: rdiff-backup /home/ /backup/home Then every week I want to make a rsync backup offside with sshfs like: rsync -avz /home/server/backup/home /backup/server-home/ This is giving me the following errors: Fatal Error: Previous backup to /backup/server-home/. seems to have failed. Rerun rdiff-backup with --check-destination-dir option to revert directory to state before unsuccessful session. Does anybody have a good solution to deal with this errors/situation? *2x edit for typo's

  • Can I Reimage My Laptop With the Image of My Desktop?

    I figured if I could reimage the new laptop, I wouldn't have to reinstall all the development software I install on a regular basis on every new system when I get a new contract gig and have to work on site--it takes me a day and a half to get through all of them, so I really need a better solution.   • Windows 7 accounts on a 2008r2 DC keep getting locked out randomly

    As the title states, this happens randomly to Windows 7 accounts on our Windows 2008R2 domain controller. We just had this start happening after changing from 123together hosted exchange to Rackspace hosted exchange. Also around this time our passwords on the DC started expiring, but not the exact day, and everyone has different days they need to change it before. It has only affected 10 out of 30 accounts, and I see no link between them. What are some fixes I should run or things to look for?

  • Excel data range - to sum series within date range

    I have a set of data that I would like to manipulate but my problem is not straight forward. In this data I have date ranges that include multiple entries of the same date on some days and not on others. What I need to accomplish is to manage a trading account so that no more than 1% of the account is put at risk on any given day (retrospectively). To do this, when a series of trades falls on the same day, I need to total the risk associated with each of those trades so that I can limit the total risk of the combined trades by limiting the position size I take in each. Here is a sample set of the data I am working with. As you can see, there are 5 trades on Jan 3. Each of these trades comes with a risk value. I need to add the risk values of these 5 trades so that I can compare it to an account value and then determine if I should take more than 1 position in each trade. As you can see there are different numbers of trades that occur on the 4th, 5th 6th and 9th. I need the values returned in each row so that I can further manipulate them in the spreadsheet. I am not new to Excel, but cannot come up with a solution here - your input is much appreciated.   • My internet speed became slow at night

    My internet plan is 512kbps unlimited and I get speed of average 64kbps but at night I used to get speed of 112kbps ..but recently my speed got normal like day time ...as per my view usually at night their is less traffic so I should get good speed like before ... Due to good speed I download and upload at night and my average download+upload per month is 60gb or 70gb... Is it that my ISP people putting restriction on my download and uploads.. I am confused.

Basically the structure of my App looks like this Headdirectory -- -APPBase -SomeMoreStuff -WWWDirectory .htaccess So i need to redirect into the WWWDirectory when i open the Headdirectory. In Apache its done with a htaccess and the following Content : RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^(.*) www/$1 I already tried in Nginx : location /Headdirectory { rewrite ^/(.*) /www/$1; } And i tried to create an Alias but that didnt work...     I hate putting shortcuts/files on desktop as well as crawling through "All Programs" menu any frequently (and I only pin some essential every-day applications to the task bar). So, I put all the programs I occasionally use to the start menu itself (above the automatic recently used programs section). But even though I've switched it to use small icons, I run out of vertical space in it (just about 16 shortcuts fit there at maximum).

    I have a Windows 7 computer which have a strange behavior: when preview is enabled in explorer, I double-click on any Word document, Word is launched, the document is loaded, and immediatly explorer is in the foreground window (so Word is in the background). The whole process take less than one second. Only with Word. Not Excel or anything. Only on one computer (5 others are identical and installed the same day).

  • Getting SEC to only monitor latest version of a log file?

    I have been tasked with running SEC to help correlate PHP logs. The basic setup is pretty straightforward, the problem I'm having is that we want to monitor a log file whose name contains the date(php-2012-10-01.log for instance). How can I tell SEC to only monitor the latest version of the file(and of course switch to the newest log file every day at midnight) I could do something like create a latest version of the file that links to the latest version and run a cron job at midnight to update the link, but I am looking for a more elegant solution

  • Monitoring folder diffs across servers with zabbix

    Problem: I want to make sure that a certain folder is equal regarding it's contents across my servers. I do not want an automatic filesync to keep them equal, changing is done manually. My initial thought was to once a day calculate some crc/hash on folder and send to Zabbix, and trigger when values differ. Is there any good tools out there that can calculate crc or similar of a folder? Anyone know of another solution that solves my problem?

  • Default setting for dual monitors (using Win+P)

    I have two displays (one monitor and one TV) connected to my card via DVI. I switch between them with Win+P (when I'm using XBMC I set "only projector"). Most of the time, I use it during late hours, so I just turn off the PC (with XBMC's option "shutdown") and go to sleep. All fine, but on the next day my display is changed (to "only projector"). Bottom line is - how can I set my Windows 7 to have "only monitor" each time system boots?

    I have a self hosted server with Apache2 pointed with the domain example.com. I have also some virtual servers www.example.com, cloud.examle.com, etc. This server is in my LAN, and when I try to acces to my server within the lan throw www.examle.com y get my router's configuration page. From outside the LAN www.example.com and cloud.examle.com works properly. From inside the LAN 192.168.1.33 (server internal IP) shows the default webpage (www.examle.com), but I can not get cloud.examle.com I also have a LAN name server in 192.168.1.33 with bind9. I set up my gateway 192.168.1.1 with my LAN-NS as primary NS I solve this problem creating a new dns zone in the NS. This are my config files: ;ZONE-1 $ORIGIN . $TTL 86400 ; 1 day home.lan.
