    I have just stumbled upon Bad Behavior - a plugin for PHP that promises to detect spam and malicious crawlers by preventing them from accessing the site at all. Does something similar exist for ASP.NET/ASP.NET MVC? I am interested in blocking access to the site altogether, not in detecting spam after it was posted.

    I need to dynamically generate some macros into a .h configuration file that C programs can include in order to check which options are enabled, in a fashion similar to what is possible with CMake's CONFIGURE_FILE macro. But after looking in the doc and the web, I could not find something useful. Is it possible to generate such a file from bjam and have the dependencies handled correctly? If so, how would you do it?

    Hi :) I'm developing a .NET app, which needs to run both on Azure and on regular Windows Servers(2003). It needs to store a few GB of data and SQL Azure is too expensive for me, so I'll use Azure tables in the cloud version. Can you recommend a storage solution, which will run on standalone servers and have an API and behavior similar to Azure tables? From what I've seen Server AppFabric does not include Tables. TIA

    What are available resources I should look to in order to write an emulator for iPhoneOS? I'd like to write an emulator to run applications written for MacOS. I understand that I won't be able to use file system and other OS resources. I do have an SDK, XCode and all documentation for those resources, but I wonder if I can find some examples (perhaps similar to the emulator that can run Ninetendo games on iPhone)?

This question's style is similar to: Java equivalent of std::deque, whose answer was "ArrayDeque from Primitive Collections for Java".

For example: string path1 = "/System/Configuration/Panels/Alpha"; string path2 = "Panels/Alpha/Data"; I want to return string result = "/System/Configuration/Panels/Alpha/Data"; I can implement this by splitting the second array and compare it in a for loop but I was wondering if there is something similar to Path.Combine available or if this can be accomplished with regular expressions or Linq?     I want to make a table that displays on a webpage, but one requirement is to make it easy to copy and paste into a spreadsheet. Normal HTML tables selection behavior is obviously different from how a spreadsheet like Excel selects -- when you select multiple rows it wraps around instead of selecting a rectangular area. Is there any way to make HTML table behave like a spreadsheet in this regard, or is the only way to resort to a Flash table or something similar?

  • MultiOS "Jet Database" for C++/Qt?

    Hopefully I can articulate this well: I'm porting an application I made years ago from VB6 (I know, I know!) to C++/Qt. In my original application, one thing I liked was that I didn't need an actual SQL server running, I could just use MS Access .mdb files. I was wondering if something similar exists for Qt that will work on multiple OSes - a database stored in a file, pretty much, but that I can still run SQL queries with. Not sure if something like this exists or not, but any help appreciated, thanks!

    Hi, I've been working with a Legacy application which interacts with a database through ADODB, and most of the changes to records follow a fairly straightforward pattern of: Create a Recordset from a query Make various change to the recordset call .Update on the recordset. What I'm wondering is, with ADODB recordsets, is there anyway to extract the 'changes'. The logic which changes the recordset is scattered about, and all I need is the changes, not how it was changed... Any suggestions for tracking changes in a recordset (in code, a trigger on the DB or similar is no use here) Thanks in advance

    Hi All, I want an Open File Dialog with *.class ,*.jar filters. I want that *.jar files will be treated as folders (pressing OK or double-click should display the jar file content [ *.class] ). This capability is very similar to the TotalCommander archive plugin that let you browse inside archive files in-place (without the need to extract them, etc...) Any ideas how it could be done?     I just read a blog post about NHibernate's ability to create a GUID from the system time (Guid.Comb), thus avoiding a good amount of database fragmentation. You could call it the client-side equivalent to the SQL Server Sequential ID. Is there a way I could use a similar strategy in my Linq-to-Sql project (by generating the Guid in code)?
