• Listview icons show up blurry (C#)

  I'm attempting to display a "LargeIcon" view in a listview control, however the images I specify are blurry. This is what I have so far: The .png files are 48x48 and that's what I have it set to display at in the ImageList properties. There's one thing that I've noticed (which is probably the cause) but I don't know how to change it. Inside the "Images Collection Editor" where you choose what images you want for the ImageList control, it looks like it's setting the wrong size for each image. As you can see the "PhysicalDimension" and the "Size" is set to 16x16 and not abled to be manipulated. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks!

I though about ArrayList that is serializable and we can put there everything but is not elegant way. I want to send different types of data because user can choose from a variety of options that server can do for it. Any advices?

• SVN merge adding parameters. WTF? Or how to do big merges?

  I am doing an SVN merge for a branch, and in one of the files I see this: GetQueryReferenceData(int sessionId, Int32 sessionId) Which means that the merge tool just added another parameter without asking any questions. Imagine if it was a call to Substring(0) and in another branch it would be Substring(0,2). That is completely different behavior, how does it even get to decide which one to choose? Good thing it came up during compile time. The problem is that it will not be marked as a conflict and will be merged automatically. That is very dangerous behavior and if you don't have the luxury of having a unit test for every line of code - you are screwed. What am I doing wrong and how to do big merges without the merging tool putting in dangerous changes silently? Is there a merge tool that is not language agnostic? I am using Tortoise SVN.

  I have a jquery UI datePicker in my page. I have a text box on which the date is displayed. I use the following code to disable: $("#cal").datePicker('disable'); It blacks out the text box but the image is still clickable. The problem is in IE, the date picker pop up comes up but does not close when the image button associated with the date picker is clicked. I also tried to bind a onclick function with the image to make it non-clickable. But that does not work as well. How can make the date picker image button non-clickable when the date picker is disabled. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Farzana

If I'm putting the View inside a UINavigationController the UIImageView won't display the image after taking one with the camera. But if I choose a picture from the library everything is fine again. So why does the UIImageView won't display a image taken with the camera inside a UINavigationController?

  I have the following XML <Answer> <Label>FCVCMileage</Label> <Value>3258</Value> <Iteration>0</Iteration> <DataType>NUMBER</DataType> </Answer> And need to get the Value underneath the Mileage label. However the 4 letter prefix to Mileage could be any 1 of 8 different prefixes. I know I could find the value by testing for every combination using xsl:if or xsl:choose but is there a more elegant way that would work similar to the following SQL and also wouldn't need changes to code being made if other prefixes were added. WHERE label LIKE '%Mileage' NB. There will only ever be 1 label element containing the word Mileage Cheers!

  I have an assignment where i need to do feasibility study on two of my approaches and find optimized one. There are two packages A and B User input is gathered in A and then sent to B for execution. Now my approaches are 1. Call B methods from package A one by one. 2. Create a common method in B and send all the input as parameters. Which is feasible and best one, I know 2 is good in terms of code optimization and less number of calls. But, I want to understand what will be the execution time difference in above approaches How much time does java take to call method in another package? • One account, multiple users, multiple shopping cart in a web application

  I received a somewhat unusual request (imo) for a transactional web site. I have to implement the possibility of having multiple shopping cart for the same user. Those really are shopping carts, not order templates. I.E: A store with several departments ordering under the same account, but with a different person placing orders for a specific department only. Having more than one user per account is not an option since it would involve 'too much' management from the stores owner and the admins. Anyone had to deal with this before? The option so far is to have names for shopping cart, and a dropdown list or something alike after login to choose the cart with some kind of 'busy flag' to lock the cart if it's in use in another session.

I have a RadGrid populated with data from the database.   I have made a java application that allows a user to choose from certain standards and then allows him to customize those standards according to his needs. Now, the customization [via a swing application] that has been made needs to be persistent. For this we use a database [mysql/access] and hook it to the application so that with each customization made, a table [if non-existent] is created [thus making it runtime and we can not pre-determine the table names or the keys of table etc] and an appropriate entry in the table is made. I have written the driver for this connection. How do I call it in the java application and what approach should I take? I would much appreciate that if somebody can refer me some example that not only shows a sample connection being made via driver but its appropriate calls to the database as well so that i can use it as a guide.

  I have a Ruby script in my Rails app that I use to load some data from Twitter. In the future I will make it an automatic background process, but for now I run it manually like: ruby /lib/twitter/twitterLoad.rb In order to use the Rails model classes and such, I have the following as the top line of the script: require "#{File.dirname(__FILE__)}/../../config/environment.rb" By default, the development environment is used. But, I'd like to be able to choose the production environment at some point. Update #1: The RAILS_ENV constant is getting set in the environment.rb file. So, I was able to put ENV['RAILS_ENV'] = 'production' at the very top (before the environment.rb) line and solve my problem somewhat. So, my new question is, can do pass in env vars through the command line?

• Problem with JPopupMenu in a JTree

  Hi guys I have this issue. In a custom JTree I implemented a JPopupMenu to display different JMenuItem according to the node selected using a MouseListener. The JPopupMenu is shown when the mouse right button is clicked. The problem is that if I don’t choose an Item from the PopupMenu but instead I select another node in the tree, either with right or left buttons, this event is never caught by the tree MouseListener Could anyone point me in the right direction to solve this? In case an example is available I’ll appreciate it. Thanks.

  I am writing an application that runs in the background from startup to shutdown, and in some circumstances I need the application to display a dialogue for the user to choose whether or not to continue shutting down. This application will only be running on Windows, but may be running on any version from 2000 onward. While I have certainly done some research on the topic, the information regarding the way that windows handles application shut down (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms700677(VS.85).aspx) seems to be a bit scattered.   I created a TextBoxControl which is inherited from Infragistics.Win.UltraWinEditors.UltraTextEditor, an Infragistics control. As showed below. public class TextBoxControl : Infragistics.Win.UltraWinEditors.UltraTextEditor { //My Stuff } At some level Infragistics.Win.UltraWinEditors.UltraTextEditor class also inherited from WinForm's "Control" class. My problem is, this control is not appearing in the ToolBox. I done two steps 1. Choose from browse option and select the dll where the class present 2. Drag and drop the dll directly to the ToolBox In-fact both are same, TextBoxControl control is not appearing in the ToolBox, what i missing here. Edit : TextBoxControl class have empty constructor, nothing special in this class.

  Hi In this article Ayende describes how to map a single domain model to multiple physical data models. Is it possible to extend this principle such that the mapping can chosen dynamically? So for example, imagine we had an entity that could be written to the same physical schema in three ways depending on its current status, and lets assume that regardless of status each entity had a unique identifier. One solution would be to represent the entity in its different states with three separate classes: one for each mapping. Then the entity could be loaded and in order to change its state the entity could be mapped to a class representing one of its other states and then saved back to the schema, making use of a different mapping. I was wondering if it is at all possible to have the same entity represented by one class that held a status flag (kind of like a discriminator), and any save to the schema would choose the appropriate mapping based on the value of the status flag.   If you had a webshop solution based on SQL Server relational DB what would be the reasons, if any, to move to NoSQL storage ? Does it even make sense to migrate datastores that rely on relations heavily to NoSQL? If starting from scratch, would you choose NoSQL solution over relational one for a webshop project, which will, after a while, again end up with a bunch of tables like Articles, Classifications, TaxRates, Pricelists etc. and a magnitude of relations between them? What's the support like in .NET (4.0) for MongoDB or MongoDB's support for .NET 4.0? Can I count on rich code generation tools similar to EF wizard, L2SQL wizard etc. for MongoDB? Because as what I have read so far, NoSQL's are mostly suited for document storage, simpler object models. Your answer to this question will help me make the right infrastructure design decisions.

And as a bonus, how would one implement the first example in PHP, given that 123 is the primary key of some row in a database table? The problem that I am having is that when I write the new file it's saved in the project directory. How do I save it in the same directory as the file that I chose using the JFileChooser. Note: I don't want to use the JFileChooser to choose the location. I just need to save the file in the same directory as the original file that I read.

• Drupal subscriptions to taxonomy only

  Playing around with the subscriptions module; i have some troubles getting it to send the right notification for right subscription. Here's the situation : I have a content-type of type 'work'; it has a cck-taxonomy field; when creating the content users choses one category in which his 'work' fulfills. In user profil, under Categories (user/3/subscriptions/taxa) I choose two categories, lets say 'house work' and 'car work'. When creating a new 'work' content I do not get the notification. But, when manually select 'content-type' in user's profile of type 'work' I get the notification e-mail but independant to which 'category' i had chosen. This is quite annoying since I only want the user to receive his notifications upon the taxonomy he has chosen, not for every new content of type 'work'. Am I missing something obvious here ?

  My actual experience comes from PHP and Delphi(Borland) and recently also from Obj-C (iPhone sdk). In the past I also used Java, Python, VB 6 and some other scripting language. I would like to learn C++ because i need a standard tool for write compiled applications with good performance but i have no idea about witch environment i have to choose (Ex: Borland, Microsoft, Eclipse+MinGW, ...). Based those parameters: Most useful more opensource project or work requests Most standard not a proprietary versions Biggest community documentation, manuals, tutorials, forums... Better IDE add-ons, highlight, debug, cross platform, autocomplete... Easy setup A simple setup, to focus on learning the basics Actually I'm on OSX but I can use a VM if needed. Advices about tutorial or books are welcome. I hope it's not too generic as question.
